In truth this was 2 rides; First week, glorious isolated lakeside locations, fire-lit camps and amazing leopard safari. Second week, taking in the daily life of rural India from our trusty steeds, enjoying the grandeur of Rajasthan's historic palace hotels, visiting the stud and enjoying the riot of fun and mess that is Holi. Who could forget riding up the river bed to the fire-lit 'farm' under a full moon as the drums beat our approach? Great horses, an experienced, welcoming and professional team with a flair for the theatrical and the warmth of Indian hospitality made this a truly special experience. Hope to be back before long.

An absolute privilege to ride the Marwari horses, through varied and stunning landscapes. Luxurious tents pitched by beautiful lakes, breathtaking sunsets, campfires, great food throughout and some amazing palace hotels along the way. Leopard Jeep safaris and joining the Holi festival celebrations were just some of the special highlights. Our amazing hosts couldn’t have worked harder to make it perfect. Thank you HorseIndia - I would love to come back

It was a great trip and a true adventure. I think I might have left a piece of my heart back in Rajasthan. I wouldn’t hesitate to return for another trip with Horse India. It was a pleasure having the opportunity to ride and getting to know the stunning Marwari horse. Further to the experience of riding through the varied and exiting rajasthan countryside I had not anticipated how much I would learne about the culture, the horses and the people. Dr Singh and Caroline were so knowledgeable.
I loved it!

I had the most incredible experience with Caroline and Rajeet from Horse India. They went far beyond simply organising a riding trip, creating an unforgettable journey that blended culture, history, and world-class horses.
From the moment we arrived in Rajasthan starting in Udaipur and ending in Jhodpur, everything felt thoughtfully curated. The rides through villages, farms, and ancient landscapes were breathtaking, and exploring temples and local communities on horseback made the experience deeply immersive and personal. Their Marwari horses are exceptional: forward, responsive, elegant, and a true joy to ride.
A highlight was the extraordinary warmth and hospitality shown by Rajeet and his family. He welcomed us to his stud farm, an_stud_farm_jaipur, where he hosted a beautiful home-cooked lunch that made us feel like honoured guests. It was a rare glimpse into the heart of Marwari horse culture, shared with genuine kindness and pride.
Every detail of our itinerary was handled with care. The hotels along the route were beautiful, comfortable, and chosen with intention, allowing us to experience Rajasthan’s hospitality at its best. What stood out most was the passion and dedication of Caroline and Rajeet. They truly want guests to feel the spirit of India, and they go out of their way to make the journey meaningful, safe, and inspiring.
If you want more than just a riding holiday, but a cultural immersion full of beauty, warmth, and unforgettable horses, I cannot recommend Horse India enough. A stunning experience from start to finish.

We had a wonderful holiday on the Leopard Trail in India - truly a very special time. Brilliantly organised - something magical happened very day - we were never quite sure what it was going to be but we were always spoilt rotten. We laughed an awful lot along the way.
So many highlights it’s hard to identify them but:
- the sights and sounds and colours of Balotra
- the crazy horse race at Godwar - just brilliant
- the religious festival & holi
- the calm and beauty of the trails
- Rawla Jalai - could have stayed there forever
- the stunning beauty of Jawai Bandh and seeing leopards
The horses were lovely and beautifully cared for - it was great to see them getting green grass along the trail, and to hear that they are all closely monitored for 3 days when they return from the trip.
Ajeet and his team, particularly Sanjeet (front of house) and Dirish (head syce), were brilliant and couldn’t have been more helpful - delicious food, cold beers, wet towels.

My main response is ‘wow’! This truly is the holiday of a lifetime. I have so much respect and admiration for Caroline and Ajeet for organising and producing such a spectacular experience. Nothing was too much problem and without doubt they went to every possible extreme to make sure everyone had a wonderful experience. Apart from the many booked activities, there were multiple extra surprises eg dancers, visit to goat farm, thoughtful gifts as mementos.
The horses are perfect; strong, sure footed, forward going, yet light in the hand. Travelling through spectacular scenery and friendly local villages was inspiring. The palace hotels were stunning with great character.
I would 100% recommend this holiday. You feel exceptionally cared for and supported throughout. Thank you 🙏

This trip was an amazing, unexpected and unforgettable experience. As well as a great trail on wonderful horses, I got to experience so much of India. From the awe-inspiring forts, temples and palaces to the breathtaking landscapes, every moment was a highlight. The additional events such as the dance performances or the leopard safari, the warm welcome at every turn due to the vibrant personality and position of our hosts, and the electrifying Holi festival - it all added up to an unforgettable experience. The ceremony of dressing up and riding to the market place, the connection with the people and the sheer joy of the celebration - it was all incredibly moving and uplifting. And let's not forget the incredible hospitality, kindness, generosity and deep professionalism of our hosts. From the excellent choice of daily rides and great hotels, to the organisation of the camp, the welcome gift and the traditional dressing up for Holi, it's been a true celebration of Indian culture and horsemanship.

I didn’t book this trip directly through Horse India, but I wish I had.
Their itinerary, packing tips, and other information were clear, accessible, and easy to follow. They went above and beyond to offer the very best of India—from the exceptional horse rides to the comfortable accommodations and the genuine generosity of everyone we met.
It was a truly memorable and remarkable experience, one I will treasure forever.
For any health and safety officials, considering this trip I would recommend starting on an anxiolytic at least six weeks prior to travel.

Incredible riding through rural Rajasthan on beautiful Marwari horses. We booked onto the Palace to Palace ride and were hosted by Dr Ajeet and ride leader Ganpat. We had the most memorable trip on horseback, the horses were willing and bomb proof, even in the face of grumpy water buffalo. The scenery was spectacular, the cultural experience humbling, it was everything we hoped it would be, thank you.

I am an intermediate rider from Mumbai, who started to learn riding around a year ago, on thoroughbreds I ride once a week to stay in touch in my academy. Had always wanted to do trail riding and also ride on Marwari. Was in touch with Mr Ajeet Singh . He quickly checked the dates and we fixed a stay for 4 days at Jodha stud, along with riding. After arriving on the farm on 26th August, was treated to an excellent Rajasthani home cooked meal. The farm itself was a beautiful old heritage stud farm with several horses , young ones etc. After that, Mr. Ganpat Singh Rao , brother of Mr Ajeet , took me on a casual ride around the farm. It was amazing. We crossed a stream, some villages , and went up to a beautiful small hillock. Here a pleasant surprise , Mr Ajeet was waiting for me and Ganpat with hot tea. After spending some time enjoying the crisp evening , we returned back to the farm for an excellent home cooked dinner . Next day spent some time looking at the young ones , assisted the groom's in grooming and stable work etc and got ready for a long ride. It was a long trail crossing several villages and fields , with beautiful long mud straights . Here we cantered. The horses were beautiful and responded with fantastic agility. I felt like I was flying . The wind in my face, the powerful sprints of the horse , the rush of the fields and forests ,as you glide at a good pace is one of the best things to experience in life. Afternoon was an excellent Rajasthani meal and again riding up to the hill near the farm. We must have done around 35 kms that day and was exhilarating. Next day , we took a short break from riding , our host Mr Ganpat took me around Narlai and to Ranakpur Jain temple in the farm's vintage Ford jeep of 1948. We came back to the farm for lunch and after a short nap, based on my request , Mr Ganpat obliged me by teaching me to ride bare back . We did this on a very agile mare Badal , in the vast , green paddock within the farm.A brilliant new experience and learning.. Next day was my last day , so we went on another long ride . Did several stretches of catering and enjoyed the ride. Returned back to the farm. After lunch, I think Mr Ganpat and Mr Ajeet were confident of my riding , and put me astride their prized personal black stallion , the formidable
Gajraj. He was a beauty , powerful , strong and extremely agile , I understood why he was not given to ride earlier. It required me to put all my skills together and some more , for taking him around the farm. An excellent learning experience. Overall , the stay opened several faculties for me , riding and otherwise. It helped me to get a lot more centred in my riding, the quietness of the place was so meditative that it took me away from all the travails of the hustle and bustle of the city and my professional life . I was so rejuvenated and eager to continue my pursuit of riding. The hospitality of Mr Ajeet Singh, Mr Ganpat Singh's excellent riding and teaching skills , the thoroughness of the groom's and the excellent and delicious food prepared by the family of Mr Ajeet Singh were highlights. Of course my beautiful mounts - Mare Rupa, Mare Anarkali , Mare Badal and Stallion Gajraj , I will never forget for the learning that they imparted to me. Will keep going here again and again. Thank you Ajeet Singh Sahab, Ganpat Singh Sahab and your beautiful horses and team for this life changing experience.

My wife and I recently completed the 10 day Castle to Castle Ride and had an amazing time. The Marwari horses live up to thier reputation as a hardy horse with great endurance. The food was plentiful and delicious from the local street food to picnic lunches along side lakes to castle and palace dinners. We really enjoyed being submersed into the culture and people while riding from rural farm land to small towns and ending each day at a castles. This gave us the opportunity to interact with the wonderful local people, learn about the country and regions history and also relax and spend the nights in beautiful accomodations. We ended up booking during the wedding season to our surprise and the streets and towns where full of wedding parades and music, we even joined in three weddings and had a unforgettable experience dancing, eating and being part of the weddings. Ajeet made us feel like family and took care of all the details and planning. He showed us so much of India and the traditions and culture. The people are so friendly and welcoming, the horses are wonderful and the overall experience is perfect. We long to return some day and spend more time in the country and experience some of the other rides.

The best trip of my life. The horses were top class, the route was out of this world. I travelled as a single lady and felt taken care of from the moment I landed in India. Dr Ajeet was extremely knowledgeable and created an experience that few people would get to enjoy, through the forested National Park (home of the leopard) down dry river beds, across desert, through farmland and rural villages. The beautiful horses brought joy and happiness wherever we went. The accommodation was excellent, authentic and luxurious and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this trip to anyone and would be happy to discuss my experience if anyone had any doubts.

The palace to palace trip was a trip of a lifetime with wonderful horses and hospitality. Ajeet is an amazing guide and everything is perfectly organised by Ajeet and Caroline. I loved all the heritage hotels and the farmstay. The horses were very well cared for and Ajeet loved sharing his passion for his Marwari horses and they were super fun to ride. The trip is a whirlwind of colour, great rides and history and seeing the real India. I would give more stars if I could.
