I had the best stay ever at Mad Monkey Panglao! Huge thanks to the amazing reception team (Jen, Rowin, Irish, and Argie ) for assisting all my inquiries and concerns immediately. Your hospitality and professionalism made my stay smooth and stress-free.
Special thanks as well to the bar team and the guest experience staff Ivy, Dredd, and Jeffrey for making every night fun and unforgettable. You guys truly brought the energy and made the experience so alive!
The food quality was excellent, the atmosphere was amazing, and overall it was one of the greatest hostel stays I’ve ever had. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Panglao. Can’t wait to come back!

Hard to contact
At first it seemed perfect, and our group was looking forward to our trip tomorrow, but yesterday we were contacted through one of their hostels who told us, that they were unable to house us, and we've heard nothing from Hostelworld.
With less that 48 hours till we had to have accommodation, we have been unable to get human contact through mails, live chat or phone/whatsapp.
If you brand yourself as 24/7 costumer care, please live up to it.

They cancelled my hostel and tried to not give me a refund
Booked a hostel through Hostelworld and initially had a pretty frustrating experience. My booking was confirmed and the deposit taken, but a day later I was told the hostel had not accepted the booking due to their own terms and conditions. I was instructed to contact the hostel within 24 hours, but when I called them they said there was nothing they could do because it was booked through a third party.
I then contacted Hostelworld support within the timeframe given, but didn’t receive a reply before the booking was automatically cancelled. Despite this not being a voluntary cancellation, I was originally told the deposit would not be refunded and was only offered a voucher.
After arguing my case further, I did eventually receive a full refund, which I appreciate. However, the process took much more effort than it should have and the customer support response times during a time-sensitive issue were disappointing.
