Bad Customer Service

They use USPS shipping, which is notorious for lost packages. They also are no help when it comes to refunds. This place is awful. They should really invest in a different shipping method and stop being so damn cheap.

Terrible

Terrible. Store manager in co springs, chapel hills is a major lawsuit waiting to happen. She screams at the employees in front of customers (I witnessed it directly) and brought a young employee to tears! I will NEVER shop there again and cannot believe Hot Topic would allow this. I reported to corp. As an HR Director, this hostile work environment will be a downfall. I have been in this location 2 times and the manager has done this both times....screaming at employees to shut up is NEVER acceptable!!!! I told the employee that was crying that a call to an attorney and EEOC would be greatly advised.

Excellent Employees

Skye @ the Guilford location is amazing. She’s very knowledgeable and thorough in answering any questions. She always has a smile on her face and is pleasure to chat with. Couldn’t be more happier with my experience.

DON'T Get the Credit Card

Their credit card is not worth the hassle. I've been trying for months to get my account unfrozen when it shouldn't have been frozen in the first place; the account has had a $0 balance since October 2023. I had to go between customer service with Hot Topic and Comenity numerous times before they finally transferred me to someone who said I had to send in a letter to get the account unfrozen that could take up to 30 business days and then they hung up on me. Absolutely terrible customer service. If this wouldn't affect my credit score to close this account, I would. Safe yourself the stress and DON'T get this credit card.

I love it here it’s my favorite store…

I love it here it’s my favorite store in the mall lol. The employees were so kind and I've never encountered a mean or disrespectful one. I’ve gotten many things, such as band T’s, hats, jewelry, and snacks. My favorite things though was the Appa claw clip, Appa plushie, and Guns ‘N Roses t-shirt. Please add more avatar the last airbender things though! ❤️

Super friendly and excellent service

Super friendly and excellent service. Competitive prices. Large stock of hard to find merchandise. I've ordered online and picked up at store had no problems. I've purchased that store and was greeted with a friendly knowledgeable staff. Would definitely recommend awesome experience.

Order cancelled without knowledge, may seek legal advice for refund purposes.

Ordered a hoodie that I had expected to arrive within a month, as it had initially stated in the order status after buying it. Also, I'm going to be honest, Hot Topic used to be much better than this. What the hell happened here?

The hoodie I ordered was for some reason delayed to ship until around May-June, and I thought about emailing customer service to ask about it back in March, when the shipping had noticeably been updated to that time frame. The customer service I got was basically just "nope looks like it'll arrive this month! dont worry :)" and so I waited...and waited...and waited until I decided to check it again and lo and behold, guess what? My order gets cancelled without my knowledge on April 23rd. I have emailed Hot Topic as to inquire about a possible refund, and I know customer service should be open as I write this review...so why haven't I gotten a response? It's been HOURS, Hot Topic. I will NEVER order from Hot Topic again and I will be seeking legal advice in case I do not receive a refund from them. I will also be telling my friends about this and tell them to never order from your site, so good luck Hot Topic, thanks for the memories (not recent ones of course). You used to be so good, now you're just a shell of what you used to be.

never arrived

i ordered a manual lawn mower from hottopic.top/ after tracking it for 30 days it never arrived. I had to dispute charges with credit card company. This site is a scam. Beware do not trust!

Customer service is nonexistent

I've placed many online orders with BoxLunch/Hot Topic for thousands of dollars. They don't always fulfill the order correctly. When you call for a correction, they make a note on your account and tell their customer service not to help the customer because you're a risk to the company losing money. This came straight from a manager. I will no longer be a customer. That's really how companies lose money. A funny line...we're not satisfied until you're not satisfied. Unfortunately, it's true here. Another...if we ignore the customer, maybe they'll go away....guess what? Buh bye...

Can’t place an order

Can’t place an order. Absolutely nothing works! So I missed out on the buy two get one free deal…This website is absolute GARBAGE!! And to pour salt on the wound I have to wait 5-7 days to get my money back on an order that didn’t go through.

Awful

Awful. Hot Topic is supposed to be "all about the music", but now they play crappy pop and rap in their stores, the store is ugly and bright, and they sell mainstream garbage. Why can't alternative people have one store that is theirs? Way to ruin what was once a safe haven for alternative people.

Really bad customer service/fake sales

They sent me a note saying that there was a sale, but it pretty much isn’t good on anything on the website then when you contact them they can’t help you.

I wish they would stop contacting me. They do it on a bot and then I want to order it for my kids to really enjoy this stuff but in an annoys me that the coupons aren’t valid so if they’re having a sale it should be a sale I don’t think this is a very legitimate business, I had a long talk with somebody on chat and they could not help me at all so their customer service isn’t very satisfactory either. I would probably order a lot if I could take advantage of their deals but nope.
