How lovely it is to still have a store still in our town centre, nit much else left!!!

After looking online for a birthday gift, and just not sure whether the photos were enhanced by AI, I decided to take a walk into town and visit our local H Samuel.

As soon as I walked in a staff member greeted me, making me feel seen (something that lacks in so many stores these days).

I found what I was looking for and simply had to make eye contact and a member of staff was there to help.

All the staff, but especially Donna, had a lovely sunny disposition and friendly chatter... but not too much if you know what I mean.

I am so glad I decided on purchasing in person, what a breath of fresh my visit was.

The store atm is in amongst a town that is being regenerated, and yet the stores standards are still super high. Clean, no trip hazards, great displays.

Issue with Apple Pay and debt card payment made it hard to pay!

I bought an expensive watch from H, Samuels, after owning the watch for some months I found the linkage in the bracelet was rusting, on this occasion I was given the option to exchange the watch, as I was concerned about the quality of the watches and manufacturer I moved up the price scale to a bulova for sometime this watch worked well and performed well,at the point that it needed a battery replacement. I took it back to H Samuel’s to have the battery replaced during this period. My watch went missing (stolen)and I was told that it was going to be investigated, however, my watch never materialised after that,and as an option they invited me to choose another watch of similar price and quality. I then selected another Bulova a black one as there was not a Chrome one available as my first watch from them,after a short period of time I noticed that the date was no longer changing, I gave them two opportunity to put this right and they were unable to do so, I then requested my refund, and they refused so at that point Icontacted citizen advice for advice and I was told I was well in my rights to reject the Watch as it was not of merchantable quality, I am still trying to fight to receive my refund but at this time there is no sign of my refund….. this Bulova price range was almost £800, the problem with the black Bulova, the date window would not change to the current date, as it is a chromatic watch it has several multifunctional dials on its face, sweeping secondhand stopwatch a numerous other features, all the other features of the watch work fine but the date would not synchronise with the weeks and days of the year, I was told that it needed a new battery to correct this fault, but my previous Bulova that was stolen, when the battery was depleted everything on the watch stopped working, so the advice I was given that it needed a new battery. Does not make any sense at all., so now being told that it needed a new battery for the date to work seems ridiculous…

Went in to enquire turn around time to send a watch away as have their insurance policy. I was on my holiday and popped in because we have lost all our branches of H Samuel where I live.
Emily asked what the problem was and said she would take a look as could see it was an issue with a pin.
Came out with a mended watch and was a very happy customer, many thanks

Very easy to navigate website. Clear competitive pricing on Garmin watches. Good delivery / collection options with surprisely quick delivery times.

Very rude staff. Went in to try on rings to gather my size and the lady didn’t smile, she barely asked any questions, she spoke back to me when I was asking questions as someone abit naive to the process. I would NOT recommend going there for any jewellery and we will not be returning. Totally ruined our experience.

Bought birthday present today and Josh was extremely helpful in getting it to the destination without any problems. His advice was very good in helping me choose the gift . A beautiful cross and chain .
Also bought a ring and Josh was again very helpful and patient… nothing was too much trouble , even polished the gift . He is truly an asset to the company. Takes pride in his work and is conscientious , courteous and knowledgeable. Thank you.

Ear piercing. Fantastic experience. The staff were fabulous - they explained in detail each step. Made sure my daughter was comfortable with everything before the ear piercing went ahead.
Fully explained aftercare. Also told us if we had any questions at a later time, just to get in touch.

So unfortunatly i have to begin to update on my situation with hsamuel again ,this is my third reveiw ,they are not interested in solving a situation that began in their store in tallaght ,their employee who they tell me on here is looking after my case will email me and it takes 2 to 3 days for me to get an answer from her and she doesnt know why i think shes not responding ???? ,this is an ongoing
issue since tey damaged my watch in the square shopping centre in march ,we are now heading into 5 months in which they damaged my watch, when i took it into store for a new battery i was told it would be 6 to 8 weeks to be repaired as it had to be sent to bulova, it has been almost 5 months since this happened and i have been chasing my watch since..i again spoke to her on tuesday and it is now thursday and no responding email.so again beware if you are looking to buy or repair please be aware that they do not care,i have had no watch for almost 5 months after paying 270 euro for it.maybe i will get a respnse today from her after i post this i am going to continue updating till i get a refund for my watch ,i have a whole file on the situation and have been in touch with the cpcc in ireland ,they have broken a contract with me and it must be sorted out because i am not going away.

I came into H-Samuel to get my ears pierced and my experience here was amazing and very enjoyable especially due to the great service from Nabiha.

Worst company to do business with. Bought a watch from the Manchester Arndale branch for £370.50. Returned the watch within the return window and in original packaging but for some reason they refused to issue me with refund. So they now have both the watch and my money. What a shame

Had been looking at wedding rings over the last few months and H samuel had good prices online. We then decided to go into 1 of the stores in the middle of July, only to find the same rings had gone up by around 37% since we last checked 4 weeks ago. We tried them on anyway, just to see but the quality was awful. Both rings were paper thin, I'd say 1mm thick at most, possibly even 0.8mm even though they are both described as heavy, when the industry standard for heavy rings is 1.6-1.8mm thick, but H samuals are about half as thin. Theres a reason they dont list the thickness of their wedding rings anywhere on their site, while every other jewellers does, its because they are paper thin, but still describe these as " heavy ". It would be laughable if their descriptions didnt verge on fraud at worst, complete misrepresentation at best. Then to top it all off, you could previously get 10% off off by ordering online, but they have removed wedding rings from this promotion.

In the end we decided just to up our budget and get some good quality, properly described heavy rings from another jewellers.

The service in store wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. And the comparison with the company we went with in the end was night and day, beautiful store/showroom, and much heavier, quality rings, for only 30% more, for rings that will actually last.

Really would not recommend in any way.

We were going to use them because they were cheap, and we werent too fussed in the beginning, but now they have increased prices so much and removed any discounts on wedding rings, and having felt the quality of the rings, they are awful value for what you get.

You've lost your market with these changes. You're now only a fraction cheaper than other, better quality retailers, and provide a much worse product.

Very good so far - good value compared to other suppliers. Let’s hope the product lives up to expectations.

Absolutelly horrible experiece with this company.I order from them a pair of earings for my birthday wife. I pay extra for delivery and I receive 1 day before to arrive." the order is cancelled" no single explanation, stay now to look for another gift, loset time because the time was limited..the worst jewellery shop ever..
