My instructor Richard at hughes was extremely attentive and guided me to pass my class 1 test in under 2 weeks. Another instructor Mark also helped me throughout the process. The standard of teaching is second to none.

Hughes Leeds, I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

From the very beginning, every member of staff was supportive, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed. As a woman entering what is still often seen as a male-dominated industry, I was a little nervous at first, but I was treated with nothing but respect, kindness, and encouragement throughout my training.

A special thank you goes to my instructor, Paul. He was absolutely outstanding. His patience, professionalism, and calm approach made all the difference. No matter how many questions I asked, he always took the time to explain things clearly and made sure I felt confident behind the wheel. He genuinely cared about my progress and never stopped encouraging me, even on the days when I doubted myself.

Passing my Class 1 licence would not have been possible without the support, dedication, and belief that Paul and the entire team showed me. They didn’t just teach me how to pass a test, they helped me build confidence in myself and my abilities.

Thank you all for your hard work, support, and encouragement. I will always be grateful for everything you have done for me, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone looking for professional, supportive, and high-quality driver training.

I trained with mark and Keith for my practical training and they both were absolutely brilliant, they both trained me really well and helped when I found things difficult and helped me work my way through it and explained everything so well and I can’t thank them enough for helping me. I also trained with nick on my cpc who did such a good job in going through everything and explaining it all and helped when I was nervous about the test but I passed and again can’t thank him enough. I’d definitely recommend Hugh’s and all the trainers at Northampton they’re brilliant people!

Passed my C+E practical driving test today through Hughes and can genuinely say from start to finish everyone I’ve dealt with has been amazingly professional and super helpful with every query, every question and every communication I’ve had with them. They have been on hand at all times to guide me through the lengthy but thorough process and I honestly cannot thank them enough team enough. Of course I need to give a very very special thanks to Heidi, my instructor who has been incredible from day 1 of the training. Incredibly knowledgeable and absolutely spot on with every part of the practical instruction. She doesn’t miss a thing and will not let up if something needs work. Her professionalism, patience, and solid training technique is what got me through and the confidence she inspires is worth every penny! Once again… thank you thank you thank you Heidi… you’re a total legend and will never forget the skills you’ve drilled into me I will always use in my new career!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Scam

I had a very disappointing experience with this company. During my training, their truck broke down for two days, which caused significant delays. Despite this not being my fault, those days were counted as part of my training.

When I asked for the lost training time to be rescheduled, I was told I would need to pay additional money. This was not what had been agreed beforehand. After initially agreeing to certain arrangements, the company later changed its position and asked for more payment.

I feel this was unfair and unprofessional. I would advise others to clarify all terms in writing before booking training with this company.

Steve instructed me on the Class 1 HGV training in Plymouth and I had the best time! I was initially worried about the size of the vehicle but Steve’s attitude with me really made me feel comfortable and his confidence in himself and his past experiences really made for an exceptionally positive experience and understanding relationship to help me feel better and learn in an environment where I could be more confident.
Thank you so much for helping me achieve this life long goal. Simon helped me on my first day in a similar fashion and Jake was very helpful and responsive to emails - so thank you to the whole team at Hughes Driver Training! I’d highly recommend these guys to anyone considering doing any driver training. I loved it!

I picked Hughes to do my class 1. best choice I ever made. from start to finish a great experience. chatting with the instructors in the morning asking any questions you like always answered in a good informed way. nice clean trucks provided. attention to detail from instructor was 10/10. I had the pleasure of spending the week with KEITH. a well humoured gentleman, expert knowledge and guidance. very relaxed and professional. made learning and practising in the truck a breeze with pointers rnat just felt like talking to a mate.

Zara the fearless leader in Northampton was also exceptional, she took me out on my last day and to my test. again so well informed and an amazing attitude and love for the job.

A really good team and experience. cannot recommend enough. 10/10 100% amazing.

At the age of 20 I wanted a new career path to go down, at first I was nervous about doing my class 1, after meeting Darren on the first day he helped me understand that there was nothing at all to worry about, training with Darren through the week he really help me overcome all of the nerves and guided me to passing my class 1 lorry license, thank you Darren and the team at HDT, very much appreciated 👍

Amazing experience, very knowledgeable set of teachers. I got to spend time with Richard, Darren & Mark each on the road and without a doubt I can say they know what they’re doing and teaching. The guys a patient and make sure you’re comfortable while learning and give you the feedback you need to hear. 100% will recommend Hughes driving to anyone. Upgrading my class 2 to class 1 at alfreton depot with Andy b. He was amazing, really relaxed and great instructor. Would recommend to anyone.

Very easy all the way through absolutely no hassle with booking different stages of the journey just answer the phone and they sort everything out. The staff are very friendly and easy to laugh with but also be serious when needed to be I would 1000% recommend Hughes for any one wanting to get their license no matter which one it is
