So very disappointed at the lack of effort in this year's Advent Calendar. We bought it for family members and are hugely disappointed. No real excitement when opening the cottage, where previously ne... See more

Customer service was completely unhelpful …
My sister gifted me an advent calendar for Christmas. I was originally able to use the app, however, after a few days it was not longer working. I tried every suggestion available on the website with no success. I emailed the help center and explained my situation, told them what I had already tried. It took several days to get a response and the response directed me to look at the questions and answers on their website. I replied informing them again that I had done that. Several days later they replied and gave me a new code, I was able to login again for about a day and then I again had no access. I once again emailed them explained everything and another several days went by and they replied with same code and instructions that I already tried. I replied informing them again what they were instructing me to do was not working. At this point due to the back and forth and the long wait time for reply’s Christmas was over and I never gained access. I asked them to please refund my sister since I was unable to use the gift. They replied to me several days later directing me to have her email for a refund because it would be easier for them, they also re suggested to us the Q and A section on their website. My sister has been gifting this to me for several years and I have always really enjoyed it, not being able to access it was disappointing and the way it was handled by the company was completely unhelpful and very frustrating.
Beware of automatic subscription renewal.
I bought a 1 year subscription and everything was fine, but didn't want to renew, so unselected their default of automatic renewal. On the anniversary I received a email from them saying they had charged my credit card for another year. I logged on and the automatic renewal box has been checked again, which I didn't do. Tried emailing and I sent a message via their contact web page. I'm still waiting for a reply.
BTW, The FYI page says they will inform you prior to renewing, but I never got anything.
Money grabbing crooks
Warning, do not subscribe to Jacqui Lawson.
I contacted them to resolve a problem with their Advent Calendar, and was put through to a help line based in Cyprus called 'Expert Squad' who did not resolve the problem, but have now charged me £22 per month subscription. Needless to say, I have now cancelled this.
Do not purchase anything from Jacqui Lawson they are a bunch of money grabbing crooks.
Heartwarming cards
Maybe I'm living on a different planet but I have found these cards delightful heartwarming and sophisticated. I haven't used the site for seven years and it was easy to renew and use. Very clever cards indeed. Fully deserve five stars.
Rubbish customer service
Before Xmas I decided I'd send JL cards. I tried setting up an account but my email address was recognised (I'd had an account several years ago) and I was instructed to log in instead. Obviously I couldn't remember the password so tried the 'Forgot Password' tool. Despite the site saying my new choice of password was 'strong', it encountered a problem in trying to process it. Emailed JL to advise of problem with website. Email obviously not read as just got a standard reply with instructions on how to change password!!!! Tried password reset again. Still not working. Emailed JL again. Still obviously not read as yet another standard email reply irrelevant to my particular problem. Tried resetting password again but site still not working and since we're now at 31st December, I'm giving up on this!!!!!

Advent calendar for 2025 was terrible compared to previous years and I will not be buying another ,,,, very sad !!
I have six years worth of JL Advent…
I have six years worth of JL Advent calendars and this one is without doubt the worst one.
The main house had nothing new day by day apart from the new buildings appearing on the shelves. There was nothing new to show even on Christmas day. Much of it was similar or exactly the same as previous years.
Extreemly disappointing for a Advent calendar that in the past has been something to really look forward to.
I will probably try again next year on the basis that other years have been so good - but if next year is bad , that's it.
Disappointing 2025 advent calendar
I have been purchasing your advent calendar for myself and others for the past several years and this is the first year I have been seriously disappointed with this year's offering. For the most part, I found it boring, and thought it lacked originality, personality and substance. I agree with other reviewers who have missed things like the daily presents in the apartment. And the overall look reminded me too much of that of previous years. I expected more, especially with the rise in price. Honestly, price isn't the main issue for me. I would happily pat more if it would guarantee the delightful advent calendar experience of past years. Thank you
I Love JacqueiLawson ecard app
I love JacquieLawson ecard app. I have used the app for over one year and just renewed my subscription for two more years. I have a big family and friends and I used to buy a lot of cards every year. Now I just send an ecard using this app and everyone I sent a card to using this app has really liked them. Thanks for lovely wishes sent on line!

Unviewed cards in recipients' spam folders. Some others undelivered
This site used to be better. Much better. Issues were dealt with, new material was regular.
What happened? JL sold out. New Owners treated it like a cash cow needing milked. And milked again, And.... Etc...
Meantime, if you're a subscriber having just sent out a flurry of cards to all your friends and family - after a couple of days take a look to see how many have been "viewed". Chances are, they're in the SPAM folder, because JL cards now do not know how to design the code on their cards so as NOT to get them intercepted by spam detection in most/many mail systems. Others might be found not to have arrived at all. It is JL's responsibility to provide a marketable product suitable for the intended use. You don't need to be a genius to work out that in this respect they are failing. I sent a bcc email to all card recipients re this spam problem, some were found. Others seem never to have arrived, as they were not in the trash folder either.
My sub. is now not going to be renewed. Costs up, quality down. They need a sharp lesson, the sharpest possible is a nasty balance sheet. If you agree, scrub your sub. And complain vigorously re the undeliverable greetings card emails. These must be recoded, and recoded PRONTO.
2025 delivers boring advent calendar
The 2025 advent calendar was a disappointment. Have bought these for years and always looked forward to each new day's offering in the village and in my own space. Then often would spend at least an hour changing things, in the village. This year was just plain boring. I'm not sure I will purchase again in 2026. Years prior to 2025 were so great and fun it really makes 2025 look bad and makes one wonder how much more downhill it goes in 2026. Such a shame - it's like they just didn't care to put the effort in at all.
Site does not work in Cyprus
The Jaquie lawson does not work in Cyprus, even though I have paid my subscription. I can't receive or send cards. I have used this service for years, I will not be renewing.
The calendar was incredibly boring and…
The calendar was incredibly boring and nothing really happened apart from people walking along the pathways and a few cars going past. I hoped each day something would improve but it didn’t, and as for the choices of fabric in your own room on the furniture, well that was a horror story. Absolutely dreadful pattern choices of material. The activities were the same as in previous years. I won’t be buying another calendar but will use my previous years as they were so much fun.
Not fit for purpose
Paid subscription for a year but could not work out how to send a card. Cancelled subscription now but total waste of £24 as I was not able to send a single card! No help at all except a section which does not explain. I would suggest you give this one a miss.
Really poor advent calendar
Really poor advent calendar. I have purchased the advent calendars for the last 5 years and look forward to them each year- this year was the same old things, nothing new and nothing exciting. Your ‘room’ doesn’t change, there’s no new interactive things in the room. It was by far the worst one I’ve had. If I had brought this from a local shop I would be returning it for a refund. I hate to be negative, but this was such a let down. Sorry I won’t be bothering with these in future.
Ugly and disappointing Advent calendar 2025
The Advent Calendar based on a model house village was a considerable disappointment to me. I was so impressed by the previous Paris, Edwardian and Nordic calendars, even the Sussex one was good. This year, for me at least, seeing the countryside blotted out by dark and ugly Gothic buildings was a negative experience. The animals and birds gradually disappearing did, as someone else has pointed out, feel like a dark fable of over-development. I really disliked the aesthetic. The scene felt quite constricted and by Christmas it was jumbled and visually uncomfortable, with skaters (repurposed over and over since the Nordic calendars) jostling for attention with passers by. It was dislocating to see characters who featured in the Paris streets bizarrely shoehorned into the café. A disaster, then, for the artistic design. For the interest and imagination, I loved seeing the shop game, last seen in the Edinburgh calendar? I enjoyed the snowball fight, which was new and fun, but everything else seemed stale. And did anyone else notice the loss of the teddy bears? They fitted in well with the slightly twee videos, and I missed them. The trouble is, doing country scenes every other year is bound to get repetitive and stale, whereas calendars based on a real location - apart from the awful London version- offer much more interest. My complete favourite remains the Edinburgh calendar, where such good use was made of the location, and the Paris one. I hope the company who bought out Lawson make more effort next year.
Really poor advent calendar for 2025
Really poor advent calendar for 2025. Other years you have been able to click on the village Christmas tree to change the decorations and lights, click on lights around the village to change them, click on house windows and see toys and pets go into action (cf. Sussex advent calendar). This year, nothing at all. And the cottage is really boring. Yes, you can change the chairs, etc., but the games are the same as last year, and the year before that, etc. And the same music. Get something different.
I sent them an email about the London advent calendar which has stopped working - no response. That one was REALLY good.
Jacquie Lawson quality review
Since the sale of Jacquie Lawson; this company has gone straight down hill. The prices have risen; old cards are wonderful but BUT the advent calendar is a complete waste of money. It used to be a pleasure giving this to friends and family. Now: the puzzles are unuseable and the village itself: deadly dull. The company is absolutely unresponsive to any inquiries or complaints - their only interest is in getting your cash.
I will cancel my subscription (half used) in the New Year. If anyone knows of a decent online Advent Calendar, please post that info here for all of us who are abandoning this one as garbage.
Very disappointed
After years of being a loyal subscriber, I'm now very, very disappointed with this website. I tried several times to select, complete & send multiple cards, but it kept failing & displayed a dialogue box with message:
"Sorry, video load error, please reload the page and try again"
I wasted so much time having to restart from the beginning numerous times & on different devices, I gave up in the end. I'll send Whats App messages instead. So I won't renew as it's now totally unreliable!!
