Thanks mal and mark

I got a conservatory from job worth doing. Sales process was very easy and no pressure. Builders arrived on time and completed base and wall without fuss or mess. Mal and mark the fitters had the frames and roof up in two days. Really went the extra mile including a fantastic job boxing around my waste pipe and they even laid the laminate floor for me which I had bought. Happy too recommend.

Their method of operating and the goods …

Their method of operating and the goods they supply leads me to think they should go out of business and go to prison. The patio door installation was done quickly and cleanly.
After installation and payment arrangements finalised no further interest. Patio door had a broken part after two weeks use. Engineer came and tried to glue on broken part. This of course broke gain in a short time. Another engineer visit who said it should never have been glued and would never work like that., needed a new door panel which was ordered. This action acame about only after a letter to the managing director, whoi did not grace the letter with a reply but a 'phone call did from, I think their Scottish office,
The new door was due to be fitted on 31st July this year, 2017. Waited in, on the morning of 31st July a 'phone call to say the door had been smashed in the distribution warehouse and it would have to be reordered and built and suppl;ied at a later date. I would be called when ready.
Numerous calls from me to them with always the same message " work and order in progress " Always the same answer.
Last effort a registered letter to the managing director in November this year 2017, Again no reply and no action planned to replace the broken door part which has now been exposed to the elements since FEBRUARY 2016 !!!!!!!
The sub standard expensive patio door has had no attempts to replace the faulty unit. i can't get a response to letters, 'phone calls are met with the stock answer " order for replacement in progress " We have paid in full for a faulty product which the company has no interest in repairing, or have any regard for their reputation or business ethics, or providing goods which were ordered in good daith and have been paid for.
They have supplied improperly working goods and have no further interest in a product which does not meet the claims made for it. I have been made a fool of by even trying to deal with them.

DO NOT USE WEATHERSEAL

Full double glazing and doors fitted in July 2017. Two windows now cracked but on contacting Weatherseal told the went into administration and then taken over within days. Told they would not honour guarantee if signed before 1st June. I signed at 5pm on 31st May so they won't honour the guarantee. I can only recommend anyone considering work by this company-stay away. The workmen are good but the company stinks. DO NOT USE WEATHERSEAL.

a view from the inside

having worked for this group of companies under a few of its guises I would like to express the following to their customers

1) there are very few if any bad people work here who do not want to do their very best for the customer, the REAL people who work behind the scenes are all hard working caring and passionate people

2) the long standing installers are genuinely some of the most skilled I have come across

3) the middle management team are some of the hardest working considerate people I have has the pleasure to work with.

so......... where does it all go wrong!

simple cash hungry fat cats who have LITTLE or NO regard for their customers or their "MINIONS" a phrase used to describe the hard working staff that enable the directors to float about in Porsches, Bentleys and private helicopters (whist I don't begrudge anyone who has worked hard to achieve the level of wealth like these guys have, they have absolutely lost sight of what matters)

emphasis, despite what they "claim" to be their company culture is on pulling money in

jobs unfinished, jobs missing items, and in some circumstances jobs not started would be asked to pay up, sometimes angrily and with verbal force

would you pay for a job that was half done ? missing a door? missing glass? I'm guessing not!!

the other thing that lets this outfit down is their hard faced sales tactics and massive over pricing, they prey on the old and vulnerable and have an unbelievable lack of respect for "punters"

a shame really as the products they install are decent in quality, not the best available on the market, despite what they will tell you, but absolutely not the worst... they're ok/decent

the problem is the staff cannot do the jobs they want to and are very capable of doing because, and this is from the very top, its all about getting money in irrespective of customers jobs being complete and them being happy.

customers often feel they have been railroaded and left wanting and disappointed

the phrase undersell and overachieve is one that gets used a lot in the industry but ENTU JWD and all of its associated companies OVERSELL and massively UNDERACHIEVE

I guess what I am trying to say is, when ringing up and playing blue murder with the lads and lasses because your job is part complete has defects, take a minute to calculate your approach, I guarantee the staff on the end of the phone would love to help, they take great pride in resolving issues, however they can't physically come and do the job themselves (if they could they would 100%)

their hands are firmly tied by the big wigs instructing middle management to fit new work to get more money in because they desperately need to fit and bank money!

quite often discounts and cash was offered to disgruntled customers to accept what they had installed, whether the job was right or not.

buyer beware

hard sell sales who make a fortune from overpricing
poor aftersales due to the constraints from above (no finger of blame pointed at the care team at all)
fitters who are rushed on jobs because they're forced to get to another job to keep money coming in with no focus on quality.

use at your own risk

A shame I can’t give NO STARS

A shame I can’t give NO STARS. I’d be really happy to do that as since July I’ve had a cracked pane of glass. This is after JWD installed double glazing on behalf of Penicuik and left a hole in a wall which they had no intention of filling until I mentioned it, cracked in the plaster of another wall and cracks round window externally. They’ve been TWICE now to replace a broken panel and both times have left without doing it as the window supplied was the wrong size - both times!
Compound this with cancelling one visit two days before it was due to take place, but after annual leave had been arranged to accommodate them. It just gets worse.
We had no choice but to use them as we’re tied in to a Penicuik contract, but if you have a choice - use someone, anyone else!!!

Job Worth NOT Doing

I purchased v a conservatory from St Helens glass this was installed by job worth doing Oct 2017 . From day one else every time we opened the bifold doors there was an issue with them. We had job worth doing back on fourteen different occasions and they never managed to resolve the problems. They went into administration on the 31st August 2017 we then received an email from their installation manager ( Sean Watson) to tell us that any installation prior to the 1st June 20 17 would no longer be covered by the warranty which was supposed to last 10 years. As a result we are now faced with a bill for 7.500 pounds to have the doors removed and replaced with doors that actually work. Do not touch this company with a barge pole. They are now part of the Latium group which includes Weatherseal,Pennycuick, and many other well known glazing companies

PV solar panel system installed by J W …

PV solar panel system installed by J W D acting as an accredited installer for Staybrite Solar in July 2015. Staybrite Solar ceased trading end of August 2017 two days after the invertor was diagnosed as failed by JWD's subcontract electricians and reported as such to JWD. Whilst accepting that the 12 year warranty provided by Staybrite Solar is now worthless the invertor manufacturers(Solar Edge ) warranty also 12 years is still valid.
The electrical subcontractor has attempted to move things on by getting JWD's instruction to resolve the problem without success. Attempts to email both contacts at JWD (James Harding and Phillip Ellingham) have resulted in emails being returned as undeliverable after two or three days suggesting a network administration problem.
Phone calls have been met with a surly unhelpful response with comments such as 'we haven't had any feedback from the electrical contractor' which is totally untrue as I have a copy of the electrical contractors email which was sent to JWD after the contractors initial visit before the end of August. Attempting to get any help from JWD's head office has been similarly unhelpful. The suggestion being that I should pay £120 to JWD for an inspection having been told earlier that JWD had also ceased trading!
In conclusion this is one of worst companies I have had the misfortune to deal with.

Will never use this company again either

Will never use this company again. Got Fascia and guttering completed in Aug 16 and never received the warranty for the work despite numerous telephone calls and emails. Just kept getting fobbed off or ignored. Now have a problem with the guttering so rang the office only to be told that the company went into liquidation and takeover company will not honour any warranty. Useless company especially when the work was ordered through Zenith and obviously sub-contracted to JWD. Work done was fine but the after care and management is appalling

Will never use this company again

Will never use this company again. Got windows and doors installed in January and remedial work was required also my doorbell to be replaced that they accidentally disposed of. Was offered £200 compensation if my husband could finish work and to cover cost of replacing doorbell following second area managers visit! Been phoning area manager who's ignoring voicemails. Customer services informed me today that company went into liquidation in august and takeover company not paying compensation. To add insult to injury was also advised my warranty is also null and void. The sales team have been trying to contact me to offer more products!!!! This company are nothing but a shower of cowboys and dishonest . Sorry I ever used them

Mr Cross & Miss Barr P53961

It is with great frustration that I have to resort to posting another poor review. We originally posted on the 28/07/2017 and we received a response on the 31st July. To Colleen's credit we received a call within in a few days after the 31/07/2017, and a manager came out to discuss our issues. The front door was put right on the visit and we were advised that the builder would be sent out to fix the rendering. On the same visit the manager identified that not only had we still not had the trim fitted between the sill and the window, but infact the front window has not bee fully sealed! Within the week the builder showed up and the rendering was rectified. Looks much better now! However, the builder did say that he would put it on the job sheet to ensure an engineer would need to come back to fit the trim and seal the window, the same committment the manager made. It has now been 4 weeks since the builder was out and we have heard nothing. Please can someone contact us and come and finish our windows!

My review is for the fitters of gutters …

My review is for the fitters of gutters and faceures. Colin and the young lad were brilliant. They fitted everything in the time quoted and cleaned up after themselves at each visit. There was a small area that couldn't be done due to the scaffolding being in the way. They informed of this and said they would be back as soon as the scaffolding was removed but it could be a few days as the scaffolders were very busy. The scaffolding was removed the next day and as promised Colin arrived not long after ( he did ring me to check the scaffolding had been removed). They finished of what was needed to be done and again cleaned up afterwards. I am so happy with the result and with Colin and the young lad that worked with him, they worked really hard.

Would not recommend to anyone

Would not recommend to anyone. Took 3 months, lots of emails, texts, phone calls & waited in 7 times just to fit 3 windows & a new front door (1.5 day job apparently!) Fitters are mostly 1 man teams who are left to break their backs lugging large frames & panes which results in damages & then they need to get in & out as quickly as possible in order to make any money so not a quality job done either. When asked to sort poor workmanship told "we are not joiners". 2 out of 3 of the windows didn't open but & fitters didn't even notice or care, quote "Ricky did that window not me so you'll have to wait for him to come back!" and "don't understand why you've got tilt windows there anyways". I can't believe this company is being used by B&Q or that I was forced to deal with them. Company is an absolute disgrace.

P45583 Replacement Double Glazing - And still no contact! Disguted!

P45583 Replacement Double Glazing
Installation of windows by Penicuik took place 01/07/2017. Wrong window was made (2right hand instead of right and left).
Replacement window ordered 3rd July. Different fitters came to property 13th July with a second incorrect window.
3rd window ordered 14th July. Arrived 21st July. When I called for update ( they never, ever call you) was told it was incorrect again!
Further replacement ordered 25th July. Called today for update and advised it hadn't arrived. Was then told it was in but was incorrect for 4th time!!! Complained to Penicuik head office who escalated it to the 3 managers who have all apparently ordered the correct window so the blame lies with the factory!
Sill not finished so I have a gaping hole where that should be.
Another window being ordered today.
No satisfactory explanation. Next step is a lawyers letter.
Appalled at the lack of customer service.

Well here I go again, promises promises promises, and still no date to complete with windows. The customer advisor team have been brilliant at forwarding messages and promising me a call from the Aberdeen installation manager. However he is either totally ignoring his managers or not getting the messages or he is working to his own agenda. Now I've tried to call the number given for Aberdeen but it rings out every time. SOMEONE AT THIS FIRM NEEDS TO TAKE CHARGE AND INSTRUCT AN ENGINEER TO COME AND FINISH MY WINDOWS PRONTO. HOW MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS MUST IT TAKE TO GET A RESULT!
