Some minor hiccups
Contacted JWD in November with an urgent requirement to install panels before 15th Jan deadline. Some miscommunication within JWD regarding the survey and spec (panels were to be temporarily ground mounted until new roof was ready - surveyor came to survey the roof and knew nothing about ground mounting). All eventually sorted and panels installed and connected by Jan 12th. MCS certificate was incorrect (we had two meters, it only included the serial number for one). However this was also quickly sorted out. Staff were friendly and professional. Site was left rather muddy - but that was probably because of the huge amount of rain and the need to trench cables. Generally happy with the installation - will hold comment on performance of the panels as it is too early to say.

Solar panel installation - job done well
Communication was pretty good throughout. JWD were accommodating of changes I had to make to the layout and installation date.
Fitters worked quickly and consulted me on the day about options for locating equipment.
Overall a good experience.

Some problems !
Initial contacts with company , no problems , very helpful . Installation of solar panels that company were co ordinating , waited in all day for scaffolders to arrive , company had forgotten to order it . Panels promised for following week , scaffolders did not arrive on said day so following morning electrician and installers arrived to find no scaffold up . Electrical installation done by very helpful competent installer , excellent . Installers had to go off to another job return later in day after scaffolders been . Panel installation went ahead no problem , but problems connecting system to Internet as no real handover . Installers were polite and worked well. All rubbish taken away . When contacting jobs worth doing takes long time for them to answer telephone , have issues with one of the panels looking different , company have no answer , but did say they would get back if they found one ? Would like them to come and view panel and check if all producing .

Twice failed badly in surveys to judge number of solar panels
Had it not been for the installers on both occasions, we would have ended up with either 6 or 7 panels as opposed to the 10 installed; the number I estimated in the first place! As it was, the installers seemed to be going against their manager's advice to just get on with the job but luckily they were able to indicate that there might be a discrepancy. I would rename 'job worth doing' as 'jobs worthies'. I understand that on many of the installations, the wrong number of panels was installed and the installers felt 'helpless' to put it right. Seems that the company was more concerned with getting the orders out than ensuring the correct advice given. I'm still chasing the documentation to obtain the feed-in-tarrif and even had difficulty getting through to the help line although the last person I spoke to assures me he'll sort it out.

PC fitting
The fitters arrived and completed their work quickly and efficiently followed later that same day by the electrician
The photographs had to be taken twice which delayed the actual instillation but otherwise we were very satisfied with the work done

Solar Panels fitted

Some problems encountered.
The entrance of the solar panel wires through the roof felt still gives me concern. I believe water will ingress at this point over time.
Solar PV Installations
I was not impressed by Jobworthdoing although the final installation was fine, the initial survey was poor and not completed, and after 10 days of telling me (when they answered the phone) that they had all the information they needed, Jobworthdoing then admitted they needed to send another surveyor out to redo the survey in its entirety. The customer service person booking the installation was unhelpful and didn't seem to understand that if you work and no-one is at home during the day, it's helpful to have even a vague idea when the installation team is going to arrive so you know when to be at home. The scaffolders were rude and unhelpful, and the electrician wanted to do the quickest possible job (as he kept telling me he was overworked and sick of his job). That all said, the scaffolding, installation and electrical works were all completed and done fine, but the process was painful.

Fast and friendly.
The work done by Jobs worth doing was fast and efficiant. The fitters and electrician were friendly and tidy leaving no trace that they had been. (apart from the solar panels.)
The electrician explained what everything was and how it worked .
I was very pleased with their service.

Solar panel installation
Happy with the job, but when the engineer came to assess the installation he told us that he could not get 16 panels on one side of the roof only 12 so we suggested puting 4 on other side. You the told me that we could not have a split system, so we went with 12.The installation engineers told me that there was enough room to fit 16 on one side! The electrical engineer was excellant very informative and very efficient explaining every thing in detail. I told him about the issue between the amount of panels and there location and he seemed to think that having a split system was achievable.
All in all we are happy , we have applied for fit tarrif and it will take 6 weeks for assessment
Thank you.
Brgds.

Very good company
Apart from an error at the CAD drawing stage of our Solar Panel order the service was excellent. The error was rectified on site speedily. Would use the company again.

Straightforward and easy installation process
Really efficient and professional fitting. Only let down by attitude of local office when fitters didn't turn up at estimated time and I tried to find out why and expected revised time of arrival.
