Purchased a Digging shovel about 18mths ago, unfortunately it broke. Contacted them with the purchase details and pictures and was sent vouchers to the value, including delivery of a new item. All very straight forward, very helpful and excellent customer service from this company. I would certainly recomend them.

The secateurs I ordered were faulty as the slider did not close the blades. This was dealt with very promptly with the company and they sent me another pair.

Marshall Gardens represents Kent and Stowe tools. And when you purchase them online, this is who you dealing with. This is my 2nd purchase from them,and this time even worse experience than at first time. Last year I was charged almost £15 for delivery. And after multiple phone calls eventually received my items after over 2 weeks. This time charges smaller but experience the same. Tools after week not even ready to be posted. Then they got lost. Then completely new order ment to be sent to me. Just to find out that only part of the order was sent. Still waiting. For the price of the tools I would expect much better service. I will not be coming back.

After eighteen months my long handled trowel broke in two. My email was answered within 24 hours and a replacement arrived 3 days later.

I took a chance with ordering knowing some people had reported receiving poor quality items, but so far the order experience has been terrible and I would not recommend shopping online from Kent and Stowe. Their communication is terrible and after 3 weeks I've still not received my order. Try Spear and Jackson tools instead.
The full story:
I placed an online order of two tools on 27 February for home delivery. It dispatched on 4 March. The tracking showed it arrived at the courier, then that it was out for delivery. Then the tracking changed to note it 'needed a specialist delivery vehicle' due to the size of the parcel. On 12 March the tracking then showed it was returned to Kent and Stowe.
I emailed Kent and Stowe on 12 March to find out what was going on - they said "Thank you for your email. I can see that a replacement shipment has been arranged for you", without any further explanation.
I asked again what had happened to my order. On 16 March they said "We have been advised that it was diverted to store pick up, but not then collected within the agreed time. Kind Regards".
This seemed very strange considering it was a home delivery order with no contact from Kent and Stowe throughout the process. I am curious to see where they send the replacement order, if I ever receive it.
Updates:
I followed up with the company on 16 March and they said "The tracking shows that there was a request to move from Home Delivery to Store Collection, this is not something we initiated". I then requested further details, concerned that someone could change my order without my knowledge. At the same time, this Trustpilot review published and I soon received a response to my concerns from a manager who apologised, said they had looked into it and found the issue was with the courier. It's a shame it took so much effort for the company to stop doubling down.
Last update, 31 March - I received my items and they have not immediately broken. However I would not buy from the online store again.

I’ve read through a lot of the 1 star reviews and unfortunately, I had the same problem as many others - my fork head broke off, barely used maybe twice, 3 months old.
This has been my first experience with Kent & Stowe, they were fast to assist and gave me a gift card to order a new one from their site after I provided proof of purchase.
I feel 4 stars is warranted as of right now, because this simply shouldn’t happen in the first place and whilst I appreciate their fast responses and resolution, I don’t have much confidence in Kent & Stowe, but, they do have a 15 year guarantee on their products.. so time will tell.
