I prefer Kinsta over Cloudways, GoDaddy, and Hostinger

I have used Cloudways, Hostinger, and GoDaddy, but the one I trust the most is Kinsta, especially because of their customer support. I know that even if I open a chat in the middle of the night, someone will be there to help me with my site. That's the kind of trust and relationship I have with Kinsta.

10/10 Customer service

Customer service was able to find and remove malware from my site and get me back up and running in minutes. Truly remarkable support. I am so grateful for speed at which they helped me.

Smooth and Reliable Site Migration

I submitted an urgent site migration request just three days ago, and the Kinsta team handled everything with great care, from coordinating the migration schedule to providing clear guidance before and after the migration. Thanks to their excellent support, we were able to complete the migration without any issues.

Thank you very much for your support, and I look forward to continuing to use Kinsta.

First-class hosting company

Kinsta combines performance, reliability, and developer-focused tooling. Many hosting providers offer one or two of these elements, but Kinsta delivers all three (and much more!) in a single platform.

Review of site migration and tech suppoprt

So far my experience with Kinsta has been a far cry than my recent experiences with my previous host, who I will leave nameless, GD. I had my site with the previous host for 12+ years. In the beginning one of the attractive features was tech support. You could actually call and get a live person who was eager to work to fix any issues. I even worked for that host as a hosting support tech myself. In the past several years their support has dropped off. The low level support personnel are less capable and the advanced are impossible to reach or talk to. Time frames for advanced help are 48-72 hours. This is unacceptable for anyone hosting an eCommerce business.

After a bunch of research and test sites on hosting candidates I decided on Kinsta, the test site went well and I moved forward with a migration. The migration went smoothly, and quickly. I was able to schedule the migration and it started right on time which allowed me to send an eblast to my customer list and a banner on the site a couple days prior, and put the site into maintenance. (The other host could only offer a 12 hour window and didn't even promise that).

Once the site was copied to a temp domain to review prior to dns change an issue cropped up displaying pdf invoices, tech support helped me trouble shoot the issue without falling back to the tired, it's your plugin talk to your developer, brushoff. As it turned out it does seem to be the plugin but we discovered a work-around until I can contact the dev.

So far Kinsta and the support people I've been working with have been knowledgeable and determined to work through any issues or questions. They also respect that I'm not a novice user, and respect my experience by not re-hashing the low level novice diagnostics that I have already completed.

Another benefit? I'm paying less for way more... no shared hosting anymore and more control.

Looking forward to continued excellence.

Kinsta has fantastic support!

I have been in support and managed support teams for enterprise level companies. Working with Kinsta support has been a JOY. To say that when you are talking about support is crazy. You only reach out to support when things are wrong. They have gone above and beyond helping. If you are looking at moving to Kinsta, do not hesitate. I want to shout out to Veselin specifically. He has been so patient and knowledgeable. All Rock Stars.

I had an issue when trying to follow ChatGPT's directions…

I had an issue when trying to follow chatgpts instructions for setting things up on my website and getting it started and got totally locked out. I am a complete novice here and when I chatted with the AI helper i received lots of clear but overwhelming steps to take. When I asked for some help, I was connected with a super helpful agent that was able to handle my issue right away and within 10 minutes of her making magic happen, things were working again and it was all ironed out. I would highly recommend Kinsta for their level of support and speed. I would have likely fell to tears without the help during this overwhelming process. Thanks Kinsta!

I love Kinsta!

I love Kinsta!
We have already saved costs because I don't need to our outsourced IT manager for help with DNS and site migrations etc. Also we have had some problem sites we've taken on that had malware and Kinsta is SO fast and efficient at cleaning the site. To clarify, the malware happened BEFORE the site was moved to Kinsta. To date, we haven't had any sites with malware while on Kinsta hosting.
Kinsta is a big help with resolving any questions I have.
The live chat is fantastic, and everyone all has a great sense of humour and down-to-earth attitude. Shoutout especially to my favourites, Dean & Robert. You can never use enough GIFs.
On a technical note, we particularly love the intuitive dashboard, staging function, free SSL.
I have become a raving fan for Kinsta, and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Working with Kinsta and their support team has been incredible. If you have a Wordpress site, this is where you should host it. They are always a great help and have not let me down once. I have been here for years and my experience has been great. Great customer service and top notch skilled support team.

I unfortunately not impressed

I unfortunately not impressed with the help that I received or didn't receive, I should say. For some reason my card shows on your website that it did not go through for payment. But each time that my card is used for any on line purchases I receive an alert from my card vendors. I did not receive any such alert on my phone that my card was even attempted at being charged. Then I was told by your support team that I would have to wait for your billing department to reach out to me sometime tomorrow on email slightly disappointed in this I was, it was not helpful at all. I also do not understand why I'm being billed from an overseas account whereas I know that you have Krista teams in the United States.I also do not understand why I'm being billed from an overseas account whereas I know that you have Krista teams in the United States.

I appreciate Kinsta's technical and relational reliability.

I appreciate working with Kinsta, which I find reassuring both technically and in terms of the relationship. I had one issue (atypical usage of my site that generated extra costs). When I got in touch with the Kinsta team, I felt like I was being listened to (something I wish I had with all my service providers, but that's far from always the case), and they offered me a fair and honest solution.

Great Service!

They are way better than our last hosting platform. We used to use hostinger and it kept getting worse and worse. Kinsta doesn't use an AI support. You are automatically connected with a real person and their team responds immediately. It's pretty impressive.

I also feel like they help with things that are kind of outside their responsibility at some points, like other support teams would tell me it's not their problem and to figure it out on my own, but that is never the case with Kinsta. They always go above and beyond.

Amazing tech, lackluster service—Kinsta dropped the ball

I'm an independent digital media publisher who has been creating high-traffic web assets since 2009, and arrived at Kinsta as an enthusiastic, pre-sold customer. In spite of impressive tech prowess, Kinsta's fundamental service failures cost it what should've been a slam-dunk sale.

The onboarding call with representatives Chad and Brittany was excellent. Both were personable and professional; it felt like a meeting between old friends. Unfortunately, this camaraderie evaporated immediately and unceremoniously.

Two critical failures cost Kinsta my long-term business:

1. Faulty Edge Firewall Restrictions & Rigid Telemetry: My sites require a clean environment that accommodates legitimate, privacy-conscious human readers. Upon migrating my data to Kinsta's servers, their mandatory, unmodifiable Cloudflare firewall wrapper aggressively blocked human users accessing the sites via secure VPNs, throwing unsightly 502/503 network errors. Concurrently, the same firewall layer allowed automated international proxy botnets to bypass the edge completely, aggressively running up the proprietary bandwidth tracking meters that dictate Kinsta’s pricing tiers.

2. Immediate Post-Sale Desertion: The moment I input my credit card details and paid for my initial infrastructure and an expedited migration, all proactive sales communication ceased. When the VPN/bot firewall crisis emerged, I was left stranded. When I reached out to account management for an advocate resolution, I was met with generic, automated boilerplate script points that ignored my technical concerns. Subsequent firm follow-ups were met with outright silence.

To illustrate how severe this service breakdown was: the engineering team had already completed the migrations. My entire 40 GB network was sitting on Kinsta's infrastructure, literally one nameserver switch-flip away from pointing live.

However, rather than deal with an inflexible firewall wrapper and a support queue that relies on copy-pasted scripts, I chose to pull the plug entirely, cancel my trial, initiate a credit card dispute for the platform fees, and migrate my entire business to a competitor

Securing a client who is already on "Team Kinsta" should have been an easy win. Instead, a basic lapse in follow-through and a rigid, poorly optimized edge network cost Kinsta thousands of dollars in easy, high-margin annual recurring revenue. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!

If you are a non-technical user running a basic lifestyle blog, or a corporate drone spending O.P.M., Kinsta may work for you.

But if you are a sophisticated publisher parsing real ROI decisions, I encourage you to protect your business livelihood and look elsewhere.

Decided to destroy my positive view of…

Decided to destroy my positive view of them over $60.

How to avoid this company:
1.) Use Claude to create the website
2.) Host on Vercel
3.) If you need a database, use Railway

The cost is a fraction of what Kinsta charges, and you won't get hounded for money around every twist and turn. You also won't have to use WordPress.

Already have a WordPress site? Send it to Claude, download the Claude browser extension, make it recreate the entire website to a T, and follow the three steps above.

I work for no one, I just don't want people to use this company when they do not have to. You can also save hundreds, if not thousands of dollars per year by doing this. I did.

Hi Dalton,

We’re genuinely sorry this is how your time with Kinsta ended, especially after being with us for years.

We’ve reviewed the account and the billing changes tied to the downgrade. The prorated amount was based on the time the custom plan was still active and resources were still allocated to the sites on that plan. We understand that, from your side, it didn’t feel like you received value from that plan during that period, and we can see why that would be frustrating.

We appreciate the years you spent with Kinsta and the people you recommended to us along the way. All of these matter so much to us, and we’re sorry to lose that trust.

If there’s anything about the final billing that still feels unclear, we’re happy to make sure you’re connected with the right team to review it.

We wish you all the best,

The Kinsta Team

Excellent support, fast and practical

I’ve contacted Kinsta support several times now and the experience has consistently been excellent. The team is fast, clear and genuinely helpful.

In this case, Andjelko quickly understood a fairly specific WordPress/Nginx security issue, explained the options in plain terms, applied the right rule carefully, and helped confirm that both the main domain and the Kinsta domain were protected.

The support was practical, calm and efficient. Exactly what you want when dealing with a live-site issue.

Great marketing/terrible product

After doing research, I tried Kinsta for some client sites a month or so ago. Now have 22 sites on them, but it's become clear with the last site migration that the support they offer is mediocre at best.

At the core of the issue is that their platform is not stock standard. We knew that going in, but the surprise has turned out to be that their support team has almost no expertise in actual WordPress. That's essentially their policy. In practice, this means that you can transfer a site from one host to another, and it will work; transfer it to Kinsta, and it won't work, and Kinsta will tell you it's not their problem. Their support only exists to assist with the hosting panel itself, which you will do often. As the hosting panel will just bug out 1 out of 6 actions that you make, particularly around the initial setup of a hosting instance.

The exotic issues that their platform causes are the worst I've encountered in 15 years of hosting sites. Some sites will just not work and they won't provide any assistance at all.

This has happened 3 notable times so far, the 1st turned out to be a conflict with NGINX-related stuff from the old hosting, which support couldn't help with.

The 2nd problem site appeared to transfer over fine. A couple of days later, the client pointed out that the stock levels were not displaying correctly. This was not an issue present on the old hosting (or future the replacement hosting). The stock levels said one thing on the backend and then another on the front end. After several hours of troubleshooting, I opened a ticket with one of the Woo extensions that I assumed must have been the root cause. To my shock, they replied with a screenshot showing the front end and the backend with different variables than what I was seeing. At this point, I knew it had to be some kind of caching etc. So I disabled all caching, and any performance features etc, but the problem was still present, I then had the idea to VPN into the site from the same location as the plugin support team was based, and on the first page load it displayed as their team had screenshoted, only to then switch back on another load the odd state. Long story short, I opened a ticket with support, and they said, they couldn't help with the issue. Again, I thought, its a bit stranger this time since its clearly some type of caching or server conflict at play, but went with it. We moved the site elsewhere, and it works fine.

For the 3rd site, I transferred it over, and it displayed 95% the same, but some of the styling was different, the theme seemed to have switched to some default settings. I assumed that I must have migrated the site over with caching still switched on, or the PHP version, WordPress version, etc., being wrong. So a couple of days later, I deleted the Kinsta instance, triple checked the settings with the old host, and migrated the site again. This time, I checked with the temp domain to make sure the problem areas were resolved, and they were. I then switched over to the actual domain. Checked everything again, etc., and was happy with it, switching off the old hosting instance to make sure it wasn't propagation etc. A couple of hours later, I checked again, and it was now displaying with the same oddities as before. I opened a ticket asking for support since it was clearly caching at play, they again said, they don't know, "they're not a developer" etc. I asked for an actual ticket and for the problem to be escalated, and they said, there wasn't any point, the answer would be the same.

So long story short, it's painfully clear that their platform has some seriously weird things going on with their caching/setup, and their support people will outright refuse to help resolve them. I host well over 150+ WordPress sites and have done for 15 years, and their support is probably the worst I've encountered in terms of hosting support. GoDaddy would probably be worse for level 1 support, but I suspect if you escalated a ticket enough times with them, you would, in fact, get a better result.

When they refused to escalate the issue, I said that it's going to make us stop moving over to the platform, already spending $450 a month with them, they just said, " They're sorry, I feel that way"

Part of their pitch is expert WordPress support, and an account manager, but in the end its a horrific service with overseas support, no phone number and a total disdain for customers. While the platform works as a black box, with locked down PHP settings, plugin ban lists etc, while at the same time having a policy of refusing to troubleshooting conflict issues. Their customer service reps don't even know how to open a debug console in Chrome to view errors.

It blows my mind the positive reviews this company receives. The only postive is that we didn't pay for 12 months in advance or migrate any more sites over.

Hi Callum,

We're really sorry we weren't able to give you the experience you expected from Kinsta.

You should not have had to push for your concerns to be taken seriously, and we should have been clearer about what our team checked, what we ruled out, and why. Even when an issue turns out to be outside what our support team can fully fix, we still owe you a clear explanation and a helpful next step.

Our Support leadership team has reviewed the recent conversations and reached out to you directly to take another look. We can’t undo the time and frustration this has caused, but we do want to make sure nothing was missed and that you get a clearer answer than the one you were left with.

Kinsta hosts WordPress sites for agencies, developers, and businesses every day, and we know migrations can get complicated fast. That’s exactly why support needs to feel thorough, practical, and easy to escalate when something does not look right.

We’re sorry that wasn’t your experience here. We’re looking closely at what happened so we can make these situations easier for customers to navigate, especially when an issue isn’t as straightforward. That means clearer explanations, better handoffs when a second look is needed, and more useful guidance on what to try next.
