Their ATM ate my check

Their ATM ate my check. I was attempting to make a deposit at the ATM after business hours, it took my check then had an error and spat my card back out with a receipt saying the transaction could not be processed. It wouldn't return my check. I panicked and went home and called Kitsap Credit Union's 1-800 # and I was assured that I'd be able to go in to the branch during business hours and they'd get me my check back. I did just that, but as soon as they found out I wasn't a member (I use BECU and they just partner together to allow us to use networked ATMs) they refused to help me. They told me I'd have to call BECU. I had half a mind to call the police and demand my check back (after all, it's sitting not 15 ft away in that ATM!). Feels like theft to be willing to help but only if it's one of your own members. They stole my check and refuse to return it. Now I'm stuck going through a "dispute" that is going to take 45 business days to resolve. Absolute bullshit behavior. Shame on them. I'm never going back and telling everyone I know to avoid. They could have done the right thing, they chose not to.

A Credit Union, Yeah Right!

I'm not sure what went wrong! I received a mailer and not for a shortage of credit cards but for the reason I do prefer credit unions, I applied last week. Giving over all my pertinent information online as their site asked the questions. I enter my information today to check on the status and their site tells me that 'no application in last 90 days" I then resubmit the 'code' I used for the automatic acceptance and it says the code in 'invalid'! The girl on the phone was not helpful at all and I stayed being pleasant right up until she wanted to give me round two of their run-around. I just expressed my concern about giving over ALL my personal information to them and they somehow became the most irresponsible institution I could name at that moment. Kindly asked her to shred my information when they do find it. I cannot imagine any financial institution losing all my information, AFTER replying to THEIR desire for me to apply! If you cannot trust your financial institution, expecially a Credit Union, then we all might as well hang it up! I was truly interested in opening accounts with them!
