Overhyped and Overpriced. A brand that fails to deliver
I purchased a Lancel bag less than two months ago, marking my first encounter with the brand. The salesperson assured me it was a high-quality product, but it turned out to be my first and last experience with Lancel. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment on multiple levels.
The quality was abysmal. After using the bag no more than 3-4 times, the lettering began to peel off, and the stitching came undone. I was shocked that a product priced at $700 could be so poorly made. Equally frustrating was the company's response when I reported the issue. Because I didn’t keep the receipt, they outright refused to address the defect. Nowhere on their website did I see a clear statement that proof of purchase was required for such matters.
For a brand positioning itself as a luxury label, this lack of accountability is unacceptable. It’s baffling that they wouldn’t stand behind their product at such a premium price point. This experience has taught me the importance of thoroughly researching a company before purchasing, reading reviews, and not blindly trusting a salesperson’s pitch (though that last one should’ve been obvious).
Lancel’s product quality is subpar, and their approach to customer complaints is equally poor. If you want to avoid being disappointed and overcharged like I was, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. There are plenty of reputable brands offering far superior products. Lancel, unfortunately, is not one of them.
