Overall something everyone should experience, would recommend (coming from someone with no boating experience). Enables you to see the amazing hidden gems along Lough Derg.

We were two couples with no experience and found this to be a great part of our vacation. Be prepared to have to pay attention and help out with the locks but it was fun and easy to go through them. Boating is a bit like glamping, while you have a bed and bathroom and kitchen, it is still a bit more rustic than staying in a nice place on land. We rented the bikes but found we didn't really use them. Maybe if the weather had been better but still seems like walking is fine to get into town and stores. Just got in the way a little. Nothing dishonest about it but the sticker shock of the fuel charge at the end is significant. Be prepared for another $1000+ for a week. All of that aside, we had a lovely week after busy Paris seeing the smaller towns, peaceful days cruising the canal, fun time exploring the smaller cities or towns. Would definitely recommend this type of trip for those that are looking for something a little different.

The personnel and the Liberty canal boat we chartered were first class.

We just finished a 7 day self-guided Canal du Midi adventure on a Le Boat Caprice and it was amazing. We boarded at Le Boat Port Cassafieres and ended at Le Boat Homps. Everything with Le Boat went flawlessly and staff were welcoming, informative & so helpful. As we were new to boating we selected to ''Hire a Skipper for the day" on day one and what a great decision. Our skipper, Jens, joined us on board for seven hours, providing calm & positive encouragement with boating, mooring & roping skills as we cruised downriver and navigated through locks. This was one of the best trips I've been on and I definitely plan to return - thank you Le Boat France!

The friendly professional staff and the incredibly quick response time when there was an issue that needed rectifying. The boat we got suited our needs and it was an amazing 11 days.

We are prior LeBoat cruisers and enjoyed the experience so thoroughly that we wanted to do another canal trip and introduce more friends to LeBoat, France and the canal excursion experience. A key ingredient to making these trips so fantastic are the wonderfully helpful LeBoat team members. They are world class and are the difference between a good experience, versus a great experience.

Fantastic trip! Saw France in a very low key way. Went to off the beatin path small towns. Not the Disney way. Can't wait to do it again.

We recently rented the new Liberty boat from Le Boat, and the experience exceeded expectations. The boat itself was fantastic modern, comfortable, and very well designed for a relaxed cruise.
The team at the Migennes base were equally impressive. Friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful, they made the whole process smooth from the start. Nothing felt rushed, and they took the time to ensure we were confident before setting off.
Overall, it was exactly the kind of calm, enjoyable experience you hope for on the Yonne easy cruising, great support, and a boat that really delivers.

Casually informed us that locks and bridges may be closed. Every single one was closed, and we were provided no information or source on when they may open. And for much more concerning matters, the boat was broken. There was a blown fuse- no way to charge batteries, no heat (which was most concerning, as it was about 3 degrees Celsius outside) and no way to monitor these concerns. And, the shaft seal wasn't properly adjusted, and our boat was continuously taking on water, and further draining electricity as the bilge pump was constantly operating. We cut our trip early, even after some workers came to repair the boat, due to exhaustion, coldness, and having nowhere to go whatsoever. When these concerns were brought up LeBoat, they claimed they did all they could and refused a refund, while diminishing our experience to "inexperience with boats" and "discomfort." Terrible trip.

We had the best time. The well equipped and easy to use boat gave us the opportunity to explore and enjoy the amazing Canal du Midi and the lovely places to be found along its course. The countryside is beautiful and the towns interesting to visit. The food and wine, and hospitality was a highlight. And it was sunny throughout. An enjoyable week all round. Thank you.

We did the Flanders area and had the best time. Driving the boat was simple enough and going through bridges and locks was a fun experience. The team at Le Boat was so helpful and accommodating. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone and can’t wait to do it again!
