I recently used Lextons to let out my flat in Hove and they have been very professional and efficient from the beginning, I would recommend them to anyone.

I would like to give it a Zero rating but it doesn't seem possible to do that and write a comment.

My property never even went on the market and I was landed a £720 bill on the ill advise regarding my lease. I found the agent, Amy, to be arrogant and lacking knowledge and experience in her industry.

In the 3 weeks that I was bound to them, I gained more stress than I do running my own business.

These people push you to their recommended contacts - surveyors, solicitors, EPC agents etc - all commission based. Non have your best interest at heart. You can find cheaper and better yourself.

Their business culture runs on giving clients recommendations and advice on fight-defend mode and creating hostility.

I am so glad I was able to cut ties with them without having to fork out more money to them. As a business owner I am all about word of mouth and helping businesses to grow - with this one - I would recommend you trust your instincts and go elsewhere.

Best agents in the Brighton & Hove area by my experience. Didn’t try to pressure me into anything to start with and have been really responsive and attentive during the whole process of moving. Now very helpful with any problems/repairs of the rented property.

I initially dealt with Lauren who was very helpful and professional whilst showing me around. I then dealt with Sofia who assisted us every step of the way making the process smooth and more simple. She answered all questions promptly in a friendly manner and was at all times very professional. They are both an asset to Lextons.

Great overall buying experience. Transparent pre-auction with lot information regularly updated in the lead into auction.

Just sold a property in auction for the first time. The experience from start to finish was explanatory. Every email and phone call got an immediate response (What a breath of fresh air). Having zero knowledge of the process, Simon guided me through at every stage, constantly keeping me updated, any worries or reservations were perfectly explained. In fact I never needed to worry. I cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism, knowledge and personal touch Simon gives. If I sell a property again through Auction, I will definitely use Lextons.

I have only good things to say about Lextons! The amount of care and effort they've put into helping us find a good place to rent is incredible. I haven't worked with letting agencies previously and felt a bit awkward as every step was new to me, but agents (special thank you to Sofia, Karen and Lauren) provided so much support throughout our renting journey, I have never felt more comfortable! A good agency (perhaps) if you're selling a nice West London townhouse. Not so good if you're selling a flat in Brighton.

While they send one of their smartly-dressed and luxuriantly-coiffed directors over to give the spiel intended to win your business, you will soon find your sale passed on to a more lowly colleague. (Don't worry though, the director will swoop back in at the very last minute, despite being oblivious to all that's gone on in the previous four months, so that head office can see him 'closing the deal')

Like all estate agents, they will tell you your property is 'guaranteed' to fetch a price, then, as it fails to realise offers anywhere near this figure, they will blame the market / the area / the weather as they gradually reduce the price lower and lower.

When you get to the point when you just can't bear another weekend of viewings, you will accept an offer. At this point the director will pretty much ghost you, resulting in you complaining and eventually being referred on to a (far more effective) colleague. This colleague will work the hardest on your sale but of course, won't get the credit because said director returns at the eleventh hour to get the glory.

The director's lack of involvement means they have no idea what's going on, and of course don't bother putting in the effort to find out, so you end up in a situation where your buyer demands completion ten days before you are able to complete on your onward purchase. You then have to move all your belongings into storage and have to book two rounds of removals instead of the usual one.

So you've taken an offer significantly lower that Lextons' over-confident estimate, then knocked yet more money off when the buyer was unable to get the required mortgage amount, then paid out for costs incurred mainly because your estate agent was too lazy to stay updated on what was actually happening or to pick up the phone and talk to anyone else in the chain.

Said director then calls (suggesting he is in fact familiar with the concept) when you have hurriedly been squeezed into the guestroom at your in-laws' house with your two kids to say congrats, before combing his hair and heading off into the sunset with his commission.

Would we recommend them? No. No we would not.

Claudia at Lextons held my hand for the entire purchase. Whilst it took longer than expected Claudia helped to keep it moving with a calm professional approach. Thank you very much and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lextons and Claudia.
