Terrible company - stay away!!!!

I almost never write 1 star reviews, but don't really have a choice in this case. I am doing much better with the new CPAP device which i obtained from Lincare, but definitely regret having signed up with this organization. there are many reasons for the low score, as follows: 1) They have not followed the contract which i signed when i initially picked up the machine. the billing numbers are all massively inflated. 2) They mistakenly mailed my invoices to an old address, though i had filled out all of current info. Then, after 5 months, i received a call from a collections agency. That's very unethical. 3) They are billing me for inappropriate components; for example, they never told me that they would bill for a humidifier chamber which is part of the device. this has been billed at over $30 monthly, which is really reprehensible and dishonest. the little gauze filters are billed out at about $5 each - really?) 4) The teams at both Lincare and Carecentrix are very difficult to reach, and are not taking any responsibility for the errors mentioned above. they are simply billing the insurance as much as legally permissible, plus more, and due to my deductible, the massive bills have all been sent over to me. i now owe them more than $2000, which is placing severe strain since i am not able to work at this time. 6) they are not really negotiating with me regarding possible solutions. I certainly want to reach a resolution, but they are not reasonable or supportive. 5) One employee agreed that i have been overcharged; however, she did not have the authority to adjust my bill. At least there is one honest person there, though she could not help me. 6) I have had zero assistance with my difficulties with my mask; they never set up any fitting appointments, but seemed to want to get me out of office as soon as possible. i was expecting to see an respiratory therapist at some point. i have submitted complaints to their office as well as the Better Business Bureau, but has not had any success to date. For your own good, please stay away from both Lincare as well as Carecentrix if you have any possible options elsewhere. it's been a real nightmare.

I do not recommend Lincare at all

I do not recommend Lincare at all. I have been using them for over a year. First of all, they did not have anyone at their location to fit masks for probably 6 months, so I did the fitting over the phone. I receive different responses based on the person that I am speaking with at the time. It seems they are only intersted in selling stuff, vs ever sending me the actual stuff that I want. I can tell them don't send that, and they still send the wrong supplies. People working there seem pretty miserable. I do not recommend.

Wonderful staff at Lincare, Liverpool NY

I have been receiving home oxygen, a concentrator and nebulizer treatment supplies from Lincare in the Liverpool, NY office for a few years. I have always received professional and courteous customer service. I have dealt with Tiffany and Caitlin in the office on numerous calls for supplies and questions. They have always provided me the supplies and information needed. Roberta, who helps with home delivery and set up, is awesome. She has been out here several times. She is very thorough. She calls and lets me know when she'll be here and if it's a good time and she shows up at that time. She has patiently showed me how to use my oxygen tank setup, concentrator, and any other random requests. This is a good company to work with at a frustrating time! Thank you Lincare staff!

When worried about sleep apnea or…

When worried about sleep apnea or hypoventilation, my provider ordered an overnight nocturnal pulse oximeter test for me to do at home.

Lincare got the order and came to my house the very next day, taught me how to use it, and even picked it up from my house the next morning. I got the results right away and I’m very impressed by their services in Traverse City, Michigan!

Gross negligence

Just since January this year I've had 4 improperly functioning oxygen compressors. Two of which didn't have alarms that work in case of electrical outage. My life is literally dependent on this machine. They knowingly leave malfunctioning equipment with you. If they exchange the machine it goes to another unsuspecting patient. That is if they have a machine to exchange with you. For a company who specializes in this, they have very little stock.

If I could give them a minus 10 I would , horrible customer service I’ve been trying to get a cpap for 2 months now. They keep telling me I’m approved and it will be sent to my home in 3 or 4 business days. The phone service is awful too. Wait times of 45 min or more. They won’t answer the phone.

Monitor your Insurance For Fraudulent transactions

Since retiring from the military I changed healthcare and no longer receive or use CPAP supplies from Optigen also known as Lincare. I turned in this equipment 9/1/2022 and the company continues to bill both my insurance and myself for equipment no longer in possession. I have reported insurance fraud with my medical coverage provider and opened a BBB claim that has went unanswered to date. When contacting the Optigen/Lincare I’m frequently bounced around departments from billing to supply and one customer service agent to another as the agents behave clueless in an attempt to collect fraudulent funds from a permanent disable veteran to continue to monetize their business. I sincerely hope that the insurance providers will seize to use Optigen/Lincare as one the approved CPAP suppliers and they do not have the best interest of Veterans in mind. All customer service agents I have spoken to since 9/1/2022 have fabricated actions they took on my account, to include returning equipment, refund for overpayment and continue to bill for supplies today 5/18/2022 9 months after equipment was turned in. This has been a frustrating experience as they send letters of past due amounts for unauthorized equipment..

Lincare is fired

I have excellent health insurance through United Healthcare. If the health care equipment is over $1000 then it requires a precert. This isn't a new policy but it's a policy that Lincare doesn't comprehend or follow. They ship highly inflated Cpap supplies. Numerous times they have exceeded the $1000/limit which results in me being required to clean up their mess. UHC declines the charge for lack of a precert. Multiple times on hold for an hour they still can't comprehend their portion of the billing process. So I've quit allowing Lincare to supply my Cpap equipment needs and have been buying them out of pocket on Amazon. I see the sleep specialist in a month and I'm going to have him switch to another company. I still get text messages encouraging me to order supplies but no thanks it's not worth the hassle.

Be prepared to be on hold for a good 45 minutes to speak to a person, and then expect to get transferred from person to person to get any question answered. Nice people work there, and I feel bad for them because it is a seriously dysfunctional company.

Lincare is the worst company to have

Lincare is the worst company to have. If you need help with anything. Their customer service is terrible from day one. Good luck if you have a billing question. You will wait on hold for hours just to be transferred to a department that tells you they cannot help you and that you need to speak with billing. They are rude and take advantage. They have no desire to help their customers at all. I wish I would of never gone through them. I cannot wait until my year lease is up and I own the equipment and can switch companies. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT WORTH THE STRESS OR HEADACHES OR HOURS OF HOLD TIME YOU HAVE TO WAIT TO SPEAK TO THEM EACH MONTH WHEN THEY ARE THE ONES TO MESS SOMETHING UP!!!!!!!

Where to start

Where to start? Perhaps the leadership team is holding the performance charts upside down? Basement or zero customer service is their standard? Well gosh darn it, then they are head and shoulders above any other company I've ever dealt with. I can't think of anything they can do to make a customer's experience any worse. Congrats team Lincare/Optigen! No one, but NO ONE can beat you for the worst service, experience, billing, misleading sales and complete lack of integrity from my perspective. This is not an easy feat. It's clear that they work hard from the aloof ivory tower of leadership, right down to the customer service reps that don't answer the phones....it must have taken years to fine-tune this bureaucratic nightmare experience for what I'm sure they laughingly refer to as "customers." Try victims of who have to call back 10x because their auto phone system disconnects calls if you don't select the right button. Or don't select fast enough. Or - Lord help us - select the wrong button. Only option on menu is "bill pay." No "customer service." Good thing a trap door doesn't open causing us to fall into a pit of lava if we fail to push the right button, otherwise they'd have no customers calling at all. Or maybe that's in the works?

They did not inform me that my new cpap machine was a rental and that I'd be paying monthly for it. I told them very emphatically that I did NOT want supplies on auto delivery schedule...yet they continue to ship and bill. I've gotten through their phone twice (should be an olympic sport) and asked them to change to delivery on request. And here comes my next delivery anyway!

This company actually sends copious snarky letters and provides a Hunger Games-like experience for customers to try to reach someone to address their errors. If you can purchase what you need from anyone, anyone at all, anywhere, any place, other than from this company, you should. Otherwise you'll have to purchase more medical equipment to address the stress-related conditions you will surely develop as you try to deal with these people. Or maybe that's their plan. Well played Lincare/Optigen. Well played.

Absolutely horrible customer service

It's impossible to contact anyone regarding billing issues. Ordering supplies is okay, other than it must be done by phone because the link they send me every month to reorder supplies with does not work (I've even spoken with their customer service department about who confirmed that it never works for anyone - why bother sending it?!). I am going to be looking for a different supply company. Also, when I called the local office to ask about the settings on my equipment, they just blew me off and so my cardiologist's questions about the settings have never been answered. Absolutely horrible customer service, any way you look at it.

Terrible company

They continue to charge me for an extra month for equipment rental. They have not responded to certified letter citing the error. It took their office almost two weeks to pick up the device and I am being charged for it. I was out of town and received numerous phone calls from the same person asking where to pick the machine up. The equipment sat in my empty office waiting for them to show up. A person was available at all times in the office. They are rude on the phone and ignore all questions.

Yeah. No.

Yeah. What a slimy organization this is.
We signed up for a $12 monthly, automatic withdrawal from our checking account, rental for an O2 concentrator. Months later they started taking several hundred dollars a month claiming that our insurance was not paying, yet we have EOB statements that they have indeed been paying. Fortunately, I was able to lodge a complaint with our bank and recouped the fraudulent charges and blocked further transactions from LinCare. This has yet to play out fully but let me just warn anyone considering doing business with these people. Watch out.
