Locrating is my go to place for details of a specific area and the schools as we’re house hunting and our child is about to start school. It allows you to look at schools, their rating and results and you can look for houses for sale or rent within the catchment area of a school you like. Highly recommend it!

An essential app to have during the school application process. Whether that be comparing schools or giving you extra confidence in your chosen school, this has all the information and statistics you would need in one place. This was an invaluable tool for me. As well as reviewing key information all in one place, it gave me the confidence to apply for a school that wasn't our catchment, due to the brilliant map / catchment area data which indicated we could actually have a strong chance based on our location (and we got it!) Highly recommend.

Incredibly helpful service for learning more about the schools in our local area. We subscribed for several months whilst looking for a new home. It brings together admissions, ofsted and other school data all in one easy to use map interface. We found the Zoopla integration very useful as well for seeing properties currently on the market in relation to school catchment areas. Would highly recommend.

It is SO frustrating that when I put postcodes in to check the schools, no pin drops on the map to show me where the house is, so I can’t actually easily see which catchment area the house is in. I can’t see how anyone can use this app with this limitation!

A fantastic website that helps navigate the minefield of choosing the right school for your child, be it primary or secondary. It’s got numerous data points in its armoury such as ofsted reports, rankings, parents’ reviews and catchment areas to name a few. It’s easy to use, with intuitive graphic design and videos to demystify the school system. It also allows you to see what houses are on the market near the school / area of your choice. I honestly can’t recommend this app enough! It takes away the stress and many hours of research needed to find the right school for your little darlings. It’s a steal at £6.99 per month, especially as you can sign up for membership on a monthly basis and then opt out when you’ve made your decision.

I found this website very useful when I decided to relocate to a new area and had to select primary and secondary schools for my children. There are plenty of metrics on the schools all available in the same platform, which saved me time in terms of research and made comparisons easy. The ability to visualise houses for sale on the same map as the schools (i.e. with information on catchment areas) was also really useful. In fact, locrating quickly became the website where I was checking for any new addition to Zoopla in terms of house market in the areas I was interested in. It was easy to subscribe and then unsubscribe once I did not need the service anymore. I am very happy with the location of the house I ended up buying and I feel locrating rally helped in the selection process.
