All the mentors and project managers were so helpful and outgoing which helped make our time together more friendly and enjoyable. The Lumiere program always made sure to provide us with resources and extra help such as writing coaches to create our projects making it flow easier. My mentor always made sure to explain anything i didn’t understand which really helped with the outcome of the paper.

My mentor has been so helpful throughout this entire process and has really made my Lumiere journey something I will never forget! She has been an inspiration, and has pushed me throughout the program to better my work and delve into my interests. In addition to this, the overwhelming support from the entire Lumiere team, the publication specialists and writing coaches have been just incredible in guiding me through these past few months. Writing a research paper during highschool, especially when starting out IB, can sound like an insurmountable task/challenge, but with Lumiere, it is almost like a breeze. Great help to crafting my research paper and the other opportunities and resources such as the writing centers, college admissions assistance, and university credit really helped me determine what I wanted to do and pursue in the future.

The Lumiere Research Program allowed me to gain many new skills such as using coding to change qualitative data to quantitative data. It is a great program for those who want to learn how to conduct proper research. The process was efficient, effective, and easier with the help of my mentor.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Lumiere to write a research paper about my topic of interest (Particle Physics). I think this program was a wonderful experience, equipping me with essential skills required for writing a research paper, such as retrieving academic papers from databases specific to physics, synthesising their complex information, and understanding the formal academic style of writing.
Most of all, this program helped me with gaining more insights on particle physics and the quantum world, something that isn't discussed in detail at high school level.
Completing my research paper was a significant milestone, and the support from the program made it achievable. I appreciated the flexibility they offered and their understanding and encouragement that allowed me to refine my work effectively.
Lumiere has greatly enriched my academic journey, and I highly recommend it to students looking to deepen their research skills and exploring their favourite subject in more depth.

My Lumiere research experience was highly beneficial due to the expert mentorship I received and the focused nature of my project. Working closely with a Cambridge PhD holder provided invaluable guidance, allowing me to develop my research skills and tackle complex topics with confidence. My project, which explored the links between misophonia and ADHD, enabled me to dive deeply into a niche area, giving me a sense of ownership and refining my abilities in data analysis and critical thinking. The program’s balance of independence and structured feedback helped me stay on track while fostering my intellectual curiosity. This combination allowed me to address intricate problems and form evidence-based conclusions, particularly advocating for misophonia as a separate diagnostic category. Overall, my research not only provided insights into an under-researched topic but also gave me a deeply rewarding experience, making it a defining moment in my academic journey.

Lumiere was an opportunity to delve into what I am really interested in. The ability to explore topics of interest is something I value as a student, especially as a senior. With Lumiere, I was able to explore a career option I was keen on perusing (Economics) and applying it to research I have a personal connection to.Even though writing a research paper can be challenging first-hand, Lumiere was able to cater and help with any questions, factors affecting my research and help complete my research paper to the best of my ability. This rare experience not only made for an enjoyable research process of something I was genuinely connected to, but it helped academically; giving me a head-start in writing a university level research paper.

The Lumiere Education Research Program was a pivotal part of my academic journey. I learned a lot about research and produced a comparative study on waste management between two countries.

I finished writing my research paper just a month ago as part of the Lumiere program. Reflecting on the experience, I can confidently say that it was an incredible opportunity to push my academic boundaries. Through reading and analyzing rigorous research papers, I significantly deepened my knowledge in AI within a short period of time. There were moments during the program when I felt completely stuck, but with the invaluable guidance of my mentor, Mr. Utkarsh, I was able to overcome those challenges.

With the experience I’ve gained, I’m not only motivated to further refine my research skills but also to help others in my community explore the world of research.

I am deeply grateful to the Lumiere program for supporting my growth as both a researcher and an individual.

Amazing experience

The teacher was nice and patient.

Through the premium research and publication program, I was able to learn the process of writing a research paper and writing skills. Prior to my experience at Lumiere, I didn’t know the difference between different parts of the paper(like abstract vs. introduction).

It’s my first time doing a research paper so I knew nothing about writing it. However, Lumiere education has helped me to get in touch with professor that major in the field I want to do research about and this is a great opportunity for me to discuss the knowledge with my mentor and broaden my horizon as well. I even learned some tips in writing research papers, all of which were so useful. Finally, the feeling that you got after you’ve done writing a paper cannot be described by any word!

The timeline provided me with a rigid structure that helped me plan my writing while being timed out perfectly to give me enough time for every step of the process. The workshops guided me through the process and my mentor and programme manager supported me through everything.

The best thing was the work with your own mentor who guides you and makes the experience much better. I also liked that everything is explained in sessions in details. Overall, I would recommend The Individual Research Program for all high schoolers!

I enjoyed my experience in the Lumiere Individual Research Program. I interacted with my mentor well, he provided me with much-needed advice and support while writing my research paper. He also helped me figure out my topic and was always ready to reply with answers to my many questions. Additionally, I received a lot of help from my writing coach who was quick to respond to my emails, she gave me valuable feedback which enhanced my final paper. Also, my program manager was always there to help me figure out how to use the student guidebook and submit my work. I feel this program was the best platform I could get for my first time writing a literature review.

My mentor was very experienced and enthusiastic about the paper. She really guided me through the topic and continued to reach out and help me with any areas I was uncertain about. The program was also structured well and provided a really great opportunity!

I always wanted to deepen my understanding of the mathematics behind AI, as my experience was mostly hands-on. My mentor, who had a PhD in data science and extensive knowledge of the field, provided me with materials on statistics and linear algebra, from which I learned a great deal. While I was already familiar with R, she taught me more about its applications in statistical testing and advanced data analysis. She was also flexible with my research topic, allowing me to choose and develop it independently. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of collaborating with an academic, as it made me realize that, even when a paper feels complete, important aspects may still be missing. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

My experience with Lumiere was a wonderful one. I learned so much and I am grateful for being a part of this journey!
