Don't Trust This Company if Problems Arise!
Reported faulty Hoka kaha 2 boots, soles became unstuck in multiple places, clear manufacturing defect. 18 months old - 2 years warranty. Sent photos plus evidence from online reports that this was a common defect. Mastershoe's response was that the boots were worn out, not a defect, but offered to send them to Hoka for assessment. I then contacted Hoka directly with the same evidence - a completely different response. Hoka accepted that the boots were faulty and stated that retailers deal with warranty issues and that they were baffled by the 'offer' made by Mastershoe offered to send the boots to Hoka as this does not happen. Hoka provided me with a voucher to the full value of the boots. Mastershoe are not to be trusted if problems arise!

We are sorry to read your review, as your complaint was not refused. We provided a free return so the boots could be formally assessed by Hoka.
The photographs showed separation in several areas of the outsole. However, they also showed substantial wear across both boots, including areas where the tread had become heavily rounded or almost completely smooth. Bonding defects would normally become apparent within the first few months of owning and wearing the footwear. As the boots were approximately 18 months old and showed considerable use, we could not conclude from the photographs alone that the separation was caused by a manufacturing defect rather than deterioration through wear.
In your email, you explained that returning the boots would leave you without suitable footwear for walking your dogs and asked whether a refund could be provided without the boots being returned. Unfortunately, this was not possible.
Under Hoka’s retailer warranty process, the physical product must be returned to them before they will approve a claim and issue the retailer with a credit. We therefore offered to have the boots returned to us free of charge and forwarded directly to Hoka for their own inspection.
This would have allowed Hoka to make the final decision if they disagreed with our initial assessment.
You did not respond to that offer or return the boots, so we were unable to progress the claim any further.
Manufacturers sometimes have greater flexibility when complaints are made directly to them, including the ability to provide vouchers without asking the retailer to follow the same returns and credit process. We are pleased that Hoka ultimately resolved the matter for you. However, we have contacted them for clarification regarding the conflicting information you were given, as the process we offered was based on their current retailer warranty requirements and our previous experience of claims involving heavily worn footwear.
We believe we handled the complaint fairly by explaining our initial assessment, providing a prepaid return and offering to refer the final decision to Hoka. Unfortunately, as you did not return the shoes to us upon receipt of the return label, we were unable to proceed further.

I’m sorry to hear the Merrell shoes did not fit and that you needed to return them. I can see the parcel has not reached us yet, but once it arrives, we will process your refund within two working days.
As a small independent retailer, we are unfortunately unable to offer both free delivery and free returns. To help keep return costs down, we offer an optional subsidised Royal Mail return label for £4.99, which includes tracked and insured postage. Customers are also welcome to use their own return method or return items to our store if they live locally.

Sandals order arrived quickly
Sandals order arrived quickly. It would have been helpful if you and other shoe retailers provided half sizes. You are shopping blind ordering on line, especially with shoes. First time I have ordered shoes this way, as always go to a local shoe shop to try them on for fit and comfort being elderly. Too much hassle to return goods, as not pristine enough to return after trying them out in the home.
