SCAM WARNING!

SCAM WARNING!

I ordered matcha tea products worth around €150. I received an order confirmation email, then a suspicious follow up asking me to "confirm the payment" in my banking app within 2-4 minutes, a pressure tactic that should be a red flag on its own. Their "payment provide" is AKR Tech Park.

After payment, nothing arrived. No shipping confirmation, no tracking number, and no response to any of my follow up emails since.

Looking into it further, the website domain was only created in September 2025, despite the site claiming to be an established, historic tea business. The listed address also doesn't match up (they claim Dublin but the address given is actually in Cork).

I'm currently disputing the charge with my bank. Avoid this site and use a known, reputable matcha retailer instead.

SCAM WARNING

SCAM WARNING – MATCHATEAIRELAND.COM – PAID, NO GOODS, NO REFUND, THEN ASKED TO PAY AGAIN

I strongly advise anyone considering purchasing from matchateaireland.com / Matcha Tea Ireland to exercise extreme caution.

This is my personal and documented experience:

I placed an order through their website and paid for it.

The money was debited from my account.

Despite this:

* I did not receive the products I ordered;
* I did not receive a refund;
* they are now claiming that they supposedly did not receive my payment;
* despite my account having already been charged, they are asking me to PAY FOR THE ORDER AGAIN.

In other words, my money is gone, I have received no goods and no refund, and I am now being asked to send them more money for the same order.

I have documentary evidence of the payment and correspondence with the seller.

There is another serious concern.

I have been unable to clearly identify on their website the full legal entity operating matchateaireland.com, including a clearly stated company name, registered company address, company registration number and other basic corporate information that would normally allow a consumer to verify who is actually receiving their money.

Based on my own experience, I would not send matchateaireland.com any money whatsoever unless and until they can satisfactorily explain what happened to my original payment and refund or deliver the goods already paid for.

I am reporting the matter to the relevant consumer protection authorities and disputing the transaction with my bank.

If anybody else has had the same experience with matchateaireland.com, I would encourage them to document everything and report it as well.

This post describes my own transaction and my own documented experience with this website.
