Applied for a credit card

Applied for a credit card, called up to ask some questions. After being transfered 3 times I finally got someone. I was told i had made a typo with my mobile number and they could not amend. I was told I could only cancel and reapply. I did this only and when I received the email the information advised could not apply until 30 days had passed. I was not told this only the phone. What a waste of time.

I sent a message to them at 12.25am this morning, 45 minutes later still had no response. Then all of a sudden it came up as though they’d joined but noticed there was no internet - is not my internet that has the issue. I wouldn’t have continued failing to go to bed if knew they’d be so slow joining early hours of the morning & this problem would happen. Due to issues I am finding plus poor customer service I have found on numerous occasions, once I pay my credit card off in next couple of weeks then I shall close my account. I had a response at 8.30am from the Complaints Team, why they expected me to be out of bed that early on a Saturday as had not gone to bed until after 2am is beyond me. They’ll have been well aware of this due to last message I sent, they have closed it. I’d had a terrible message from a member of staff after originally typing the above, am now unable to log on to my account the following day.

MBNA unable to issue my card with my correct name. c.40 hours of my time now wasted.

Unable to carry something out that's so simple...

I changed my name back in 2022 and notified MBNA straight away. However, I did not provide the 'correct' information as stated on the webpage. Eventually, it was agreed that the correct info had been submitted, which then lead to MBNA changing the website to reflect this. I was given reimbursement for my time on this.
It's now 2025!
MBNA in the mean-time added a middle name to my name! So I have had a card for the last c. 3 years with the middle name included. I asked for the card to be re-issued last week, to take off the name. The middle name was still included.
I have an ongoing complaint now for the last c.3 years which is still not yet resolved. I hope that someone within MBNA will read this and just send me a card with the correct name!! - as I have yet to report any progress on the matter...

Best balance transfer deal I have ever had

Great solution with good 2yr interest free balance transfer as I used a credit builder card previously that had very high interest. Application was fast and professional with direct debit set up immediately. Great communication from MBNA throughout keeping me up to date. Very professional company and thank you.

Application disaster

What a shocking company, they approved my application on the basis I send in ID. I travelled 2hrs round trip to get my accountant to sign all the copies of passport, bank statement and driving license. I posted it to the address they provided and I never heard anything from them. On calling 3 times, they we're not even able to say whether or not they had received my ID. Only that the application was approved and it's at the ID stage. As a result my credit rating dropped 147 points due to 3 hard searches. I'm so glad I didnt get involved with them. Stay away if you can, avoid if possible.

Open savings accounts in long time MBNA Lloyds banking group customer names to fraudsters and allow known fraudsters to repeatedly open fraudulent accounts.

Which in turn allows fraudsters to open other accounts and commit cyber crime and other fraudulent activities.

BEWARE ACCEPTS FRAUDULENT ACCOUNTS

Check your credit files regularly when working with Lloyds banking group for hard searches and CIFAS reports they will mark and then need to do.

I have had accounts blocked and they are not replying to complaints..

Worst experience I have ever had

Lost my card and wanted to cancel it and order a new one, I wasted over an hour of my time trying to do this - was told to go into Lloyds to show my ID - Lloyds said they couldn’t do this. Eventually spoke to someone else who said my account was closed as I’d never used it!!!!

Absolutely a rubbish company do not go with them on Sunday night my door slam shut due to the wind and my lock was damaged and locked me out. Had to call a locksmith and borrow £220 off my son. To pay for it as it says on my insurance.locks and keys are covered no excess unless a mechanical fault but there’s telling me that’s not covered And refused to pay the £220 do not go with this company the worst company I’ve ever known cancel your direct debit straight away we should all go to the ombudsman as this company are crooks and just steal money.

Being harassed and stalked by one of their phone workers

I haven't been able to access my credit card in over a month and can't make payments, check in on a charge back etc due to moving address ATM and being logged out of account. I called up 2 weeks ago to get an update on chargeback and pay my balance as this is the only way right now. I spent 40 minutes on hold various times whilst the person over the phone asked me several questions in relation to my disability and finding me a "special person" who understands me, (pretty insulting) and after not being able to find anyone who understands my disability, (whatever this is supposed to mean) I just got left on and off hold, all while I waited for chargeback update that didn't relate to my disability at all. I submitted a complaint and for the past 2 weeks, the complaints team has not contacted me, but the girl at the overseas call centre who insulted me over my disability? She's called me 3/4 times pretending to be the complaints team, which was obvious by her strong Indian accent. She got someone else at her call centre to call when I spotted it, who also admitted they weren't the complaints team and had no idea what they were doing. So MBNA call centre staff have essentially been harassing me with calls for 2 weeks for simply trying to get a chargeback update and not wanting to talk about my health for 40 minutes. I still haven't had an update or been able to pick up my credit card. The calls have also only been that low as well because I've ignored some of the calls.

Just found out that mbna credit card 0% for 24 months is only valid for the the first 60 days of account opening. This thieving, scam and rogue so called company had hidden this important bit of information in very small print. Would not recommend this scam credit card company to anyone.

Tried to arrange to arrange a balance…

Tried to arrange to arrange a balance transfer, which was refused. But suggested that I try again, I did so and again was refused, then my account was suspended. Advised to contact the fraud team, I did this. Guy from the fraud service, was no help at all, there was no customer service what so ever. Actually said to me " up to you" what I do.

What i cannot understand is why offer a service, say you transfer a set amount and then decline at the end. I spent about hour trying to arrange. Frankly dont with this outfit.

Didn't even get to the 'new customer' stage as it was not possible to discuss a generated H&C quote about the potential policy with a human being before proceeding. Looking at Trustpilot it would appear my experience is simply an echo chamber. Absolute shite.

Having done a balance transfer I found customer service non existent when a DD that should have been set up by them with my bank failed and yet I kept being told it was there even though my bank said it wasn’t . They then had the audacity to ask me if I was managing my finances ok as though it wasn’t paid due to lack of funds rather than their incompetency !!
