I would give zero stars if I could- DO…

I would give zero stars if I could- DO NOT TRUST THEM.
I brought my car in and asked the a new battery terminal be put in. They told me that it wasn’t necessary and just “cleaned” the old one and reattached. A few weeks later my car didn’t start- I had it towed back and another guy looked at it and said that the first one didn’t clean it well so he re cleaned it and attached it. Meineke tried to charge me a 2nd time for the incompetence of the first guy.
Cue to today when my car didn’t start and I had it jumped and drove to another garage. They showed me the loose terminal and the battery bracket that Meineke never reattached so my battery wasn’t secure and had been bouncing around.
Just avoid this place at all costs!!

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

Brought my car in because the engine was making a strange noise. They replaced the idler pulley and serpentine belt, then tried to charge me $617 for a job that’s listed at about 0.4 hours of labor on all data.
I explained to the guy at the front desk that I’m a single mom in the middle of moving from Indiana to Nevada. I’m not rolling in money. I told him the price was absolutely insane. Suddenly, they dropped it to $380. Still a rip off, but apparently they had plenty of room to come down. Hmmm…
Here’s the part that really pissed me right tf off: AFTER taking my money, they told me my engine was basically no good.
So, they effing knew the engine was on its last leg, but were perfectly willing to take almost every dollar I had left instead of telling me the truth upfront? Money that my son and I needed to survive during a cross-country move?

Predators…

The Meineke on Sunset is absolute trash. This is hands down one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a mechanic. They saw a woman come in alone and apparently thought I was an easy target. They tried to squeeze every dollar they could out of me, then gave me the bad news after they already had my money.
If they had been honest from the beginning, I could have skipped the repair and put that money toward another vehicle. Instead, they took it anyway.
I was referred to this shop, and now neither I nor the person who referred me will ever use them again.

Greedy, misleading, and completely lacking any concern for the financial hardship they create for people.

They honestly make me want to vomit.

UPDATE: My engine is fine, the mechanic does'nt believe they even changed the idler pully, they stripped the bolt and my engine is fine.. I literally just need new spark plugs.

needed to get some flushes and some…

needed to get some flushes and some "life time oil" changes. Didn't expect that that would lead to failure of some parts. Jason hooked me up with an affordable price and timely service to get me back on the road. Excellent attitude and professional work. I recommend this shop to everyone needing a good mechanic with reasonable pricing.

Bad oil change

Took in for oil change 2 weeks later still leaking oil. Took back again cap wasn't on tight. Meanwhile still leaking oil. Took to dealer cause my ac smelt funny. They cracked my oil filter so far costing me over $400 and not 100% sure problem is completely fixed. Got cardboard in already oil stained garage checking for leaks.

Excellent customer service and attention to detail …

The customer service and attention to detail were excellent. We had an emergency with our vehicle that needed to be checked. I called Meineke and they promptly fit in an inspection of my vehicle. They checked everything carefully and took care of a secondary problem with the tire pressure sensor. They had us back on the road quickly. The staff were so kind and attentive. I'd take my car back there any day.

Great Job on My 55 Chevy

I took my 55 Chevy to the Meineke shop in Santa Maria. My 55 is custom built. Meaning you need to be a seasoned mechanic to work on it. They went beyond what other shops would do. They contacted the manufacturer of my chassis to determine how to perform a 4-wheel alignment. They troubleshot my brakes and determined there was insufficient vacuum to operate the power brake booster. I was really impressed with the staff and would trust them with pretty much anything on my car.

My appointment was for 8 am

My appointment was for 8 am. I arrived a few minutes early and they started on my truck right away, which is very unusual for any service department. The only dissappointment was it took quite a bit longer because of a defective replacement part. So the whole AC process had to be done twice, once to check the new part, then to remove it and do it again. They kept me updated on the progress. The price was within the scope of work. But I now have AC in 100 degree temperature.

I made an appointment for 1 pm today

I made an appointment for 1 pm today. I am 82 and have a very bad back that I can only sit for short times, thus the appointment. I arrived a few minutes early and was ignored for 10 minutes while the young man was texting on his phone. When finally I got his attention he said he didn't see me in front of him. I'm 6'2 and 275 lbs. He then proceeded to tell me the change oil job would take over 2 hours, ????? Now I ran an auto repair shop for 40 years and I know it doesn't take 2 hours to rotate tires and change oil. Not sure what the problem overbooked or too much text time. I left never to return.

Severe safety incident

SEVERE SAFTY ISSUE!
Just over a month ago I took my car in for my front brakes to be done at the Tigard/Portland location. They replaced my pads, calipers and rotors on the front both sides. 2 days later I noticed a weird clicking noise upon pressing and releasing the brakes on the front driver's side while short distance or in town driving. Then a few days later I noticed a noise up on turning on the driver side as well. Nothing to concerning that I thought it was going to be a major safety issue. 10 days later my driver's side tire fell off while my 16 year old daughter and her friends were driving my car!! Thank goodness no one was hurt and they were able to get some what off the road before the tire flew off into the middle of the freeway causing body damage to my car. We are all humans, people make mistakes. But this mistake could have taken my child's lide or someone else's. I had my car towed to the shop that night as it was a Saturday evening. Called the shop first thing Monday morning to explain what has happened. The manager troy tried to tell me someone must have loosened my lug nuts, and he could tell that it all happened very quickly and proceeded to give me a quote of over $800 to fix it after I just paid $1300 for the brake job. My daughter did not leave the vehicle from the time she left the house to the time the tire fell off.The wheel falling off also caused body damage to my car that was not there before, and now I am unable to open the driver's side door all the way. After over a week of calling every day, calling corporate and many emails I finally received a call back from corporate. David agreed to take responsibility and fix my car so I was able to at least drive it, but he said he would not take responsibility for the body damage this sever safety issue caused! I would not have damage to my car if it wasn't for my tire falling off. How can you take responsibility for my tire falling off but not the damage it caused to my car? I received a call last week from Perry in corporate who said he would be coming into the area and would reach out to me on Thursday and wanted to make this right and take care of me.I have not heard back at all! This situation has severely affected my family's life as this is my only car. I have had to Uber to and from work, Uber my kids to practice and even miss some important meetings. Now I will have to take the next step to court. I should have went to les Schwab in the first place! If this happened to me there, there would be absolutely no questions and I would have already 100% been taken care of. All I was asking is your taking 100% responsibility for the drives tire falling off while my daughter was driving, now take responsibility and fix the body damage. My car should be in the condition it was when I brought my car to your shop in the first place!! When I called the shop to get a phone number to speak to the correct person the manager was unable to provide that information. I have asked for pictures and all videos of the service and still nothing has been provided to me. When I have been told many times they take pictures and videos of all services performed! Let's just say I am a very, very unhappy person and I would think twice before taking your car to this shop!! I have tried to add my photos to this but unfortunately it will not let me.

270 dollars for 15 minutes of doing nothing

Before we even decided to bring the car to this place, we called to see if they could do the job. They said or someone said yes. So, my son took his dad’s SUV (Infiniti) Yesterday and actually made him buy the part that supposedly needed. To find out, they couldn't do the job because it's not the headlight itself, it's the system or something in the headlight that needed replacement. They charged us almost 300 dollars and 111+ for the part.
The problem was, what kind of mechanic would tell a kid to buy the part without looking at the car to make sure that's what we really need? We brought the car here because we are not experts on this type of job. We rely on the mechanic to tell us this thing. Yes, we know the headlight is out but that's all we know. Meineke made us pay nearly 300 dollars for doing 15 minutes of nothing! If they really know, they would not make my son go to O'Reilly to purchase something that we don't need. If they really know the job, they know that the type of car needed is more than just a headlight. We pay almost 300 dollars at least figure the crap out before you make a decision. Now, we have part that we don't even need and the car is still not fixed! Shameless!

Dalton and Angie went above and beyond…

Dalton and Angie went above and beyond for me. I came in with a big nail in my tire, but with my bad luck, the nail was an inch from another patch from another nail earlier. They could not patch the tire so close to another patch, but Dalton called the place where I originally bought the tire and found out I had a warrenty. They put my spare on and set me up for a replacement tire over at the other place. Thanks!
