Hard drive failed after one day of use

Ordered a 2.5" hard drive for my work laptop. Product arrived in a plastic bag with no branding or information. On refection I should have sent it straight back
Unfortunately the hard drive failed after ONE day of use! It grinds and clicks and gets extremely hot. On closer inspection the label says it is 'Sold as component of OEM solution and is not for resale separately. The product warranty does not cover HDD if removed from OEM solution.' It appears that I've been screwed over by a bunch of cowboys.

Hello John,
thank you for taking the time to write a review. Reviews are always welcome as it is nice to hear when we do something right, but more important to hear when we have done something wrong as it helps us to fix issues and make everyone experience better.
We did ask Trustpilot to reach out to you after you posted the review so we could find out more and look into this issue further. Unfortunately we have not heard back.
In the meantime, we have checked our systems and we are unable to find any order from you for a HDD.
You did place an order with us on October 5th for a DashCam, but at no time have we shipped you a HDD that we can see.
Is it possible you purchased the HDD elsewhere and mixed up the suppliers when placing the review?
If so, can you please advise and remove this review or if not, please do let us have more information on your order so we can find it and hopefully resolve the issue for you.
Many thanks again.

Late late late late late late late late…

Late late late late late late late late late.
These folks bring product over from the U.S. and do not deliver on time. They don't even have arrival/shipping info. So, I don't trust that you'll get anything you order on time. My stuff is still "in transit" weeks after it was due to be delivered.

UPDATE: After I called to learn where my order is, they said it's stuck with UPS. Then they emailed and said it was "out of stock" and a new one will take 2 weeks. SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE.

I purchased gskill trident 3600mhz cl14 ram from memoryc paid extra for next day delivery did not arrive 3 days later although they shipped on time and their customer support was very helpful in tracking my order and quick to respond to my queries regarding my order. If anyone is at fault it was fedex for delaying my parcel. I would definitely use these guys again probably won't get next day delivery as the parcel comes from either Ireland or USA to England overall very good customer service and support apart from delivery delays from fedex

Bad description and RMA service.

Bought memory that did not match as advertised. Sent this back to the RMA instructed address. Spent 15 days with the company refusing to accept they had received the item back. The item was returned with a tracking number and signed for. Had to take up a payment dispute with Visa to get fund returned.
Thank you very much Halifax Visa.
Most definitely will not use this company again. Not the best experience I have had.

Would use again!

First time I've bought with MemoryC. I was a little concerned after reading some reviews regarding shipping, and the verification of card owner - I was asked for this too. However, standard delivery saw my order arrive in 3 Business Days. Support would typically respond on email within 48 hours, their website has a chat feature which they responded to me immediately. Had no issues with them at all. Product was well packaged, and really happy with the RAM I ordered. Great all round.

Can't fault them

I was concerned by some of the other reviews, but I can't fault my experience. I ordered some thermal paste for priority delivery within Ireland. (It was in local stock). It was well-priced, and it turned up in good time. Really helped me out in a tight spot.

Given other reviews, I'd be wary about making more significant purchases. But for small stuff that's in stock, these guys seem fine.

Company based in Ireland not UK!

Despite ordering on Thursday morning paying for Friday delivery it is scheduled for Monday.
Paid an extra £15 for this next day delivery; when I went on the website it said it was coming from a business in my next town.
No.
Total deception actually came from another country ie Ireland
I haven’t even had an email confirmation showing my order, not even in my spam folder; great for my accounts - not.
Completely goes against my ethics about buying locally never mind the green footprint
Won’t be getting any more orders and hopefully you’ll be thinking twice as well

They sold me an overpriced GPU (in fairness, they are overpriced everywhere) but this one barely works. One fan fluctuates between spinning wonky and not spinning at all, causing the card to short under normal use. They do not answer their phones, they do not reply to emails, they do not answer live chat. I was ripped off and ignored, and am now slowly escalating the situation.

This company is terrible on shipping time. If you have mission critical items, do not trust this company will deliver on time, no matter what other reviews or what the company says.

Goods not in stock in Ireland despite showing so on the website & long delivery times

Order placed 08.06.21. Everything showed as in-stock & if it suited me I had the option to collect from their location in Celbridge. It didn't suit me so I chose the shipping option. Everything showed as normal during checkout, after which there's a message - your order will ship 18/06/21.

I thought this was an error. I was wrong.
I didn't receive the order until 21.06.21. This is shockingly bad, especially for a company who bill themselves as 100% Irish. They are not. Their stock is coming from abroad, even when it shows as in stock. It's re-packed and re-shipped with An Post Express label to make it look like it's coming from an Irish location.

As a business owner myself, I use the same shipping service as these guys & it does not take 10 working days to ship from Kildare to Dublin.

The upside to the transaction is that when the stuff arrived it was fantastic quality.

So my average score reflects that while the hardware was great & the prices were competitive, the fact that this company is misleading customers with their 100% Irish business branding & stock availability.

This would have been a 5 star review, had they been upfront about the fact that there is such a delay in getting items to customs & it is not flagged up front during the order process.

Also your tracking number for your item does not appear in any emails or in your account & you must contact them to get this.

Previous transactions with this company were fantastic with goods arriving within 2 days, so something has gone drastically amiss.

Hi Kim,

Many thanks for your feedback. We appreciate customers taking the time to tell us how we are doing, good or bad.

We are sorry to hear of the issues you faced and if we may, we would like to address some of the points you raised.

We are proud to advise that we still are and always will be a 100% Irish Company.

We were fortunate enough that business grew for us over the years and as such, we were able to expand into the US.

We set up a US subsidiary in 2014 to help deal with the large growth we saw in the US and Canada.

As a result, we have a warehouse in the US as well as here in Celbridge. Depending on where the main demand for products is, we decide to store items in Ireland or the US and we transfer between warehouses as necessary.
We ship daily to the US as they do to us. Depending on our chosen carriers, shipments can take 4-5 working days, assuming no external delays such as customs.

In this case, one if the items your ordered was based in the US and we needed to get it shipped over. This is why there was a delay in shipping your order.
We review on a weekly basis what stock is stored where and we make changes based on demand and available storage space. We don’t always get it right, but we continue to try and improve.

We endeavour to ensure that customers know when there might be a delay and as such, we list all stock on our website as “Local” or “Remote”.
Where the stock shows “Local” it is in Celbridge and readily available. Where it shows “Remote”, this indicates that we need to get it shipped over from the US and the lead time is noted on the order.

In addition to this, we also advise when the order will be available to ship, prior to the customer completing the purchase.

However, based on your feedback, it appears that we don’t do a good enough job making sure this information is communicated to you, so we will take your input and feed it back to our technical team to see if there is anything we can do to improve this communication.
I can assure you, we do try to be upfront and it is never our intention to mislead at any time and we apologise if it came across that way.

Once again, many thanks for your feedback. It is always welcome, as I said, good or bad, as it helps us to make our customer experience the best it can be and thank you for taking the time to leave the feedback for us.

We hope we can serve you again in the future and your experience will be a more positive one.

Order to pick-up

I placed a multi-item order with MemoryC. At first, I was disappointed at the waiting period; I contacted support and they told me although all the stock I wanted was present, it was in different warehouses. I elected to pick up my order. I then realised I had ordered the wrong RAM, I contacted support and they were more than happy to remove it. I placed my order on the 14 of June and picked it up today, 22 June, a day *before* the estimate. I drove to the pick up location and a gentleman placed the items in my trunk. Well packaged. Secure. Every item listed.

Shopping experience 4.5/5 - the only quibble I have is that there is no way to amend the order and add/remove from it yourself. If they make this facility available to, say, a deadline date, after which orders are locked, it would be helpful.

Pickup experience: 5/5

Support experience: 5/5

Well done! I'll be shopping here again!!

Faulty Case, Great Customer service

I purchased a case. First time buyer. Case had a faulty fan and the customer service was actually shockingly good (through email), I was speaking to someone who actually talked to me like a person, not a robot. Resolved my issue. Can't fault them.

Cowboys, stay away.

Had to contact chat to understand how to register, required before I could purchase. I created a new account only to be offered payment using my own credit card, apparently I had gone through the same process for a previous purchase and my card details, unknown to me, had been kept. The charge went through without ANY further input from me, so they have retained my credit card details and used it without identifying me as the card owner.
Having completed my purchase, I then attempted to cancel my, unwished for, account which I now understood to be a serious security risk, only to be required to accept that, before they would close my account, I must first agree that I could make no product related claims on them and that any future relationship would be with the manufacturer. Sale of goods act be damned! GDPR be damned! What a shower of cowboys . At least, I have a couple of months to reverse the transactions with the card company if problems arise, otherwise it seems the small claims court will be involved.

No Irish Stock - long delivery times

As the title says - this company doesn't keep any stock in Ireland. Ordered CPU+Motherboard bundle, both showing in stock at the time of ordering, paid for next day priority shipping. It's beed 7 days and no package and no contact from MemoryC. Both items showing in stock as of now, as they were every single day since order was placed. I contacted chat yesterday and was promised someone will ring me back to sort it out - didn't happen.

Purchased cpu from this supplier and…

Purchased cpu from this supplier and paid £7 for a faulty cpu to be delivered to my address. Now I must pay £8 to send it back which put me £15 out of pocket.
In addition, the company's numbers are all premium or international making it hard to contact.

Amazon is more convenient.

Hello,
Thank you for your two reviews on this order. We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service you received.
While it is unfortunate that you received an item than did not work, is does happen on occasion and we do apologise. We are more than happy to issue you with a replacement or refund via our RMA process and again, we apologise for the inconvenience.

In relation to contacting us, we are also sorry to see you felt we were hard to contact.
We can see that you initially contacted us via our Online Chat Service and one of our team replied to you at the time.
We can also see that your two emails to our team were responded to, as was the Online Chat you entered into on Friday. In addition you were advised via email today that we are more than happy to refund your return shipping cost. I am also happy to clear up any confusion around your initial shipping cost, which was £1.66, not £7.00 as you advise. Happily, once we refund your return shipping cost, you will not be out of pocket.

As we are based in Ireland, unfortunately, there is no way around the international calls but we are always happy to discuss any issues you may have via Online Chat or Email as you are aware.

Once again, please accept our apologies for this issue and thank you for your patience as we work to rectify it for you.
