Worst experience ever.

My experience with AHS Law and Bilal Miah in particular was, smooth, reassuring, and practical. He always returned calls at his earliest opportunity, and in the same day. His knowledge was obvious, advice was clear and to the point. He was willing to take the time to listen to any concerns and give feedback that was helpful when answering questions. I would use him again if I was ever to be unfortunate to be in a bad situation again, as I was with my ex who lied about me and was exposed as a liar in court. I write this review many months after my case as I was recovering from a serious illness, but am glad to finally have gotten around to it.

Review of Miah Law (now trading as Hathaways Law)

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Miah Law in connection with the sale of my property.

My experience was marked by a consistent pattern of unprofessional conduct, poor communication, and numerous instances of what I believe to be unethical practice.

Throughout the process, there were repeated delays and a lack of transparency regarding the status of my transaction. Efforts to obtain clear updates or explanations were met with vague responses or no response at all, which created unnecessary stress and confusion during an already complex and important process.

More concerningly, I have serious concerns about how my documentation was handled, including the placement of a lien which I believe to be wholly unjustified and I am looking into the actual legality of the lien which has been issued.

I have raised these matters with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), who informed me that the trading name “Miah Law” ceased operation in March 2024 and that the firm now operates under the name Hathaways Law. This change does not absolve them of their prior conduct or responsibility.

I have also taken steps to escalate my concerns to the Legal Ombudsman to ensure that my rights are protected and that these issues are thoroughly investigated.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this organisation to anyone seeking reliable and ethical legal services. I advise potential clients to exercise extreme caution and to thoroughly research before engaging with this firm.

Terrible. Do not use.

Truly poor service. Slow, rude, insensitive with poor grasp of their case files.

The solicitor (trainee) couldn't even get my name right in correspondence over seven months, nevermind use correct spelling and grammar in emails. They were tardy and had poor grasp of the case (a simple sale). They were insensitive, rude and unapologetic.
I've worked with many solicitors over the years and I've never encountered a firm this poor. In the end I had little confidence they would get us through. Save yourself the unnecessary stress.

Completely awful experience. Gave me wrong advice and wasted time on my house sell which they did not achieve. Poor communication. Ignored my mental health based around the sale of my house.
I would not recommend using this group as they use trainees

Miah Solicitors is excellent and I had a very good experience especially Reagan, Mr Hamad and other staff members who have made me feel a everlasting good experience

I was a little apprehensive about selling my UK property from 4000 miles away by e-mail, but the process turned out to easy thanks to Miah Solicitors.They did an excellent job preparing all the paperwork and looking after the completion of my property sale on time with minimal effort on my part. Thanks to henna for the help towards finalising selling my house . I was in a diabolical break up and had used a fast track house sale . They d exchanged but week later after surveyor report , surprised me by dropping offer by £48,000. Henna reacted and adviced . She then went the extra mile and put me in touch with a true professional exert in the industry who was a chartered surveyor ,auction expert . Both exceptional in their experience, liased together and found me an out right buyer . My time was running out , heading for repossession , bankruptcy . This began on 6th Jan 23 and completed 14 feb 23 . It was a complicated sale , and boy did henna get stuck in . She text , she rang and although I was under incredible stress she kept me informed .. if she was in a meeting , she replied . This being paramount in buying or selling houses . Some days , yes quiet and very busy , but in the time we got sold I can see why . I’d like to say , very human and real with a big heart of empathy to my needs . Very professional and we got along so well . I Thankyou henna for all your help and getting me to where I needed to be ..

Great company, very professional and helpful. The service provided by Henna was second to non and dealt with quickly and efficiently. Would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to contact them again for any future need.

Have been working over a year now with Miah and this is our 4th property transaction with them. Trusted and do the job right. Big shout out to Reagan who has been very communicative in our latest deals completing 2 deals at the same time. With some strict deadlines she managed to get it over the line. Amazing service form start to end.
I would like to personally thanks both Isma and Henna for being excellent throughout this stressful situation. They answered any queries day and night put our mind at ease and fought our corner when needed. Could not have asked for better service. Highly recommended

Excellent solicitors specially Dr Nahal who dealt with my case . Very friendly and efficient. She guided me all the way through it and I would highly recommend her .

Terrible client care experience. Henna had to be constantly chased and assured us the money from our property sale had been sent on Friday morning (Miah solicitors received the money on Thursday). Instead we found out after chasing their director Sufe the next Monday that they were still sitting on our money. They claimed they needed more banking information but we proved they had all the information they needed for several weeks. Sufe was extremely rude and dismissive- and refused to call us to clarify so we had to call him. At that point he began by shouting at us and then threatening to not send us our money!

We will be filing a report to the SRA and making a police complaint. Very distressing experience - especially Sufe’s threat of not sending us our own hard earned money because he felt ‘pressured’. Truly shocking behaviour - massive red flags for anyone looking to use their services. We are still awaiting our funds.
