Age related "upcharge"

As I am over 57 years of age, the contract had an upcharge of $74.97, which is itself weird and possibly illegal. Then, when I got the final accounting after returning the car they actually charged me $399.84. After a full year of emailing back and forth with them at one point actually confirming money was owed and asking for my bank info ... crickets.

These guys are a ripoff - avoid them at all costs.

THIEVES

Basically, they took my money. I tried several times to cancel the service because no one had replied to my emails, but it was impossible. I sent emails and called the phone number listed on my reservation and another one on the website. No one answered. Now they have my $30, and I wasn’t able to cancel.

If there is anything less than one…

If there is anything less than one star, that is what I will give. I made a reservation through discover cars and the name that showed was different. I went to pick the car in Orlando FL and it started off with over i hour of wait time for shuttle. I called the number on the reservation and the guy who picked up told me someone is on their way to pick us up. After 30 minutes, I called and i was trying to explain to the guy that I have a meeting to attend which I was getting late for. I don't mind picking an uber to pick up the car but the guy was furious about me calling again so hanged up and blocked my number.
Waited for the shuttle that came after an hour and half to go to the place to pick up the car. The lady processing the car is a Hispanic who states she does not speak English. She asked for license, insurance and credit card which I provided. She took pictures of all of this and then told me she cannot accept my insurance so i have to pay extra $500+. I called my insurance so she can let them know what she need, my insurance gave her what she asked for but then said something different, raised the limit on the coverage. At this point I told her I am not renting, she can cancel the reservation. I asked her to delete my personal information she took pictures off and she refused. She ran to the room to her manager who is another useless person defending why she needs a picture of my credit card, insurance and driver's license on her phone. I have to end up calling the police to come help delete all my information on her phone.

Please beware, their name is different on the internet and at the office. If you see Miami life, Best Rate, Rental 24H please ran, it is the same company luring you into their office to dupe you.
Be careful when dealing with them, make sure they are not taking pictures of your personal information.
I will not advise anyone to even reserve their car or rent from them, I think they are doing more than car renting business.

Really bad experience

Really bad experience, you book and pay online and when you get there, they make you pay extra stuff, insurance and you end up paying loads… I paid £1000 otherwise they do not give you the car.
You send emails to discuss it and to complain and they do not even reply. Not professional. Worst experience ever, and I al used to hire cars all the time. AVOID

The worst car rental company I have…

The worst car rental company I have ever rented. They try to lure you with reasonable prices and free tolls with the rental but the cars are dirty and in horrible condition. Imagine renting a car and the seat belts don’t work and the car feels like it is going to fall apart. Not to mention there is one employee who has to literally do everything. No English speaking employees and the return process is long and can potentially cause you to miss your flight. I would not recommend this company to anyone and would rate this a zero if I had the option. Trash service and vehicles.

Miami Life Cars: A Bait-and-Switch Scam That Ruined My Trip

My recent experience with Miami Life Cars was an absolute disaster. I booked a rental car through Wisecars, and my voucher indicated the provider would be CarQ Rent a Car. However, upon arrival on November 22nd, I was shocked to be redirected to Miami Life Cars, a company with countless negative reviews online, exposing their deceptive practices. Had I known the true provider, I would have never agreed to this booking.

The nightmare only worsened from there. Despite presenting all required documentation, including my valid third-party liability insurance through Progressive, Miami Life Cars refused to honor my reservation. They aggressively pushed their own overpriced insurance coverage, completely disregarding my existing policy. I even contacted Progressive twice, and their agents confirmed to the rental company that my insurance was valid and transferable. Yet, Miami Life Cars remained unmoved, their greed clearly outweighing any sense of customer service.

To add insult to injury, their promised shuttle service was a joke. We waited for two excruciating hours, and our calls to the company went unanswered. In the end, we had to contact our hotel and even their subsidiary in Greece just to get a ride.

Meanwhile, Wisecars, the platform I booked through, proved utterly useless. They were unresponsive and unhelpful despite my repeated attempts to contact them. Days later, they finally replied, denying my refund request and absurdly claiming I was a "no-show." This felt like a slap in the face after the ordeal I had endured because of their partner, Miami Life Cars.

This whole experience has left me furious and disgusted. Miami Life Cars employed deceptive bait-and-switch tactics, refused to honor a valid reservation, and provided abysmal customer service. They are a disgrace to the car rental industry.

I strongly caution anyone considering renting from Miami Life Cars to think twice. They are dishonest, unreliable, and will likely try to scam you. Save yourself the trouble and choose a reputable company that values its customers.

Update: WiseCars they said they were unable to get their partner CarQ/MiamiLifeCars to collaborate, but decided to refund our money. I would still not use any of these companies in the future.

THEY STEAL MY MONEY

THEY STEAL MY MONEY

I PAY ONLINE, THEY ASKED MY LICENCE DATA (COUNTRY, EXPIRATION DATE...), THEN APPROUVE THE RESERVATION AND WHEN I WENT TO THEIR OFFICE THEY REFUSE TO GIVE ME A CAR BECAUSE THEY SAID FOREIGN PEOPLE NEED AN INTERNATIONAL PERMIT TO RENT A CAR.

WHY THEY ACCEPT MY RESERVATION AND PAYMENT WITH MY FOREIGN LICENCE DATA IF THEY KNEW THEY WILL NOT RENT ME THE CAR. THAT THEIR STRATEGY, STEALING FOREIGN PEOPLE BY CHARGING ONLINE AND NOT GIVING THE CAR

Fraudulent car rental company

Absolute scam! Stay away from this rental company. I was guided here by holidaycars.com and the initial reservation conditions were not respected. Further, the security deposit on my credit card was abused, charging several days later without any justification. Fortunately you can apply charge back on VISA and Mastercard. Absolute fraud. Don't get close to this car rental company!
Ah, the car was in good condition, but you can get that from legitimate companies without all this hassle.

Beware of this fraud

Beware of this fraud, liar, cheats. They will get you in by showing low price online. Once you are in, they will show their real face by pulling thousands of dollars more, give you a wreck and charging for all damages. People should get together and do a class action against the owner and his associates. They shouldn't get out of it. I will be sharing the email here if people are interested to get back to his scamster

Deplorable

Let me first say, if I could give zero stars, I would. I knew that the initial price tag was probably too good to be true, but when we arrived, (which was a whole other fiasco since their email did not clearly tell us where to be for pick-up from the airport, we wasted 2 hours waiting) at the hotel where they operate out of, the guy was less than empathetic for the unclear directions. We finally get the car after $700 worth of charges to find the check engine light on. Ok, fine, we'll survive, we only have it 4 days, right!? Well, it got worse. We awoke to find the tire low and had to fill it 3 times during our trip. Then, we found out that the driver side blinker was out, thank goodness we weren't pulled over for that! We also found out that the passenger side headlight was partially out, too. But wait, there's more! So the guy at the counter, told us to contact the number that had texted us in case we run into any issues. So we texted about our concerns about the tire and lights, NO RESPONSE. On our last day the car overheated two times on our way back to our Airbnb. The next morning, it overheated again on the 16 minute drive to the airport. (and no, it was not excessively hot out). We got zero apology for the lack of communication from them and all of the issues that we had with the car. Mind you, those were the major ones. Other minor issues were the fact that the car was so darkly tinted you could hardly see out of them, it was an older model without Bluetooth capabilities, which was difficult trying to navigate, and it had no cruise control which would have been nice on those longer drives. I took down the name & address of the "owner" and car details in order to file paperwork to the proper channels so this does not happen to someone else. Honestly, it wasn't even about the money. It boils down to negligence and the safety of your customers. Do better.

Avoid Miami Life car hire

Unfortunately this is the worst car hire experience of my life. Unreliable, poor service and hidden costs making them very expensive in the long run. My advice is to avoid this company at all costs.

This feels like a scam company

This feels like a scam company, do not use them!!
I have tried many rental car services and this was by far the worst.
Our flight was delayed, so they started by charging us $350 in late fee. We even provided the flight number in advance, but that didn't make any difference.
The car we got did not have a working AC (in South florida). The gas pedal reacted strange and the lights was pointing in all directions. The car was generally worn out and in a very bad state. We called and demanded a change of cars, drove alle the way back, but the next car was also terrible. The motor really struggled when acceleration and when turning sharp, the steering wheel made a loud metallic click sound.
The cars did not feel safe to drive.

Never use this company. You will end up paying overprice for a terrible car

scamming money out of you after the rental is over

At first everything looked good.
A little pricey but we agreed on the price.
The problem came after they billed us like 30 dollars for tolls when it was already included in the price (actually one of the arguments to give us such a high price was that we could drive without caring for tolls at all).

Worst thing happened after several attempts calling to solve the charge. They were so unbelievable dishonest that I feel really they shouldn´t be on business. They pick up and after explaining the case they would just put me on hold and then hung up. First time, I thought it was a mistake but after happening several times they stopped answering the calls from my phone. Called from another one and they picked up and then just put me on hold automatically.
I lost only 30 dollars, it could easily be 100 or more.
I will also complain with the BBB, they cannot continue to do this.
