This is the worst website ever !
This is the worst website ever ! They don’t deliver and steal your money. We have spent a lot of money and time buying newborn stuff and no delivery around since few days now. It’s outrageous do not buy anything from the closing sale they will never get deliver to you.
They don’t reply anywhere and we have to wait more than 45mn to speak on the phone with them and have a only reply: we are very sorry to hear to that. No help nothing. It’s a shame to do this when I’m pregnant and waiting for the bed crib for my baby who’s due soon.

The rudeness of mother care delivery
We bought a stroller from mothercare on 31st October.Today my cargo came.Your cargo worker wanted me to carry the packet.I said”I am alone at home and above all I am pregnant. This packet is very heavy. It isn’t possible for me to carry it” but he said”I have a backache”Despite all my explanations he forced me to carry it.I didn’t accept. While he was walking down,he was saying some bad words to me then turned back with my packet but he threw it mercilessly and damaged it.I said “I couldn’t accept it like this.I want to return it” but he didn’t accept it and went. This is my first pregnancy and I was waiting my packet excitedly but your cargo worker is very rude, merciless and impertinent to me.I couldn’t understand which cargo worker force a pregnant women to Carry heavy packet?in what right?Where is work ethic?above all where is humanity?Because of your worker my tension increased and I became very unhappy.Don’t let him get away with it.
Save Yourselves Money, Time and Effort
Having been let down by another source - my partner and I decided to get a cot and mattress from here.
Ordered on the 29th October and was notified delivery would take place on 5th November.
A confirmation that items had been dispatched was received on the 30th.
Today is the 5th and with no sign of delivery or update of any kind - we have contacted both customer services and as a result of being on hold for over an hour, called a shop in Manchester whom hung up after several rings and then another In Warrington. The store in Warrington attempted to get in contact with customer services themselves in order to help track the order but we received a call back informing us that they too had been unable to get through.
Remaining on hold to customer services for a total of over an hour and half - an operative finally answered. She told us that the order has been placed on hold and with no idea for how long, just that the status could change within the next 24-48 hours. A refund was offered. Given the importance of these items and time running out - my partner queried whether a call back in 24 hours would be alright. We were then told that the responses could very well be the same.
Sufficed to say, service has been outrageously dire. The stress and frustration that this has brought is both unnecessary and brings a whole new meaning to ridiculous.
You won't lose much should they go into administration (which I really hope they do.)
Alternatively, a name change to Mothercareless would be most appropriate. That'd be true advertising.
ABSOLUTE DISGRACE
ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. I PURCHASED A PRAM FROM THEM OVER 3 WEEKS AGO. HASN'T BEEN DELIVERED. NO COMMUNICATION. NOW I FIND OUT IT HAS BEEN RETURNED BACK TO THE DEPOT.
YOU GUYS ARE RIDICULOUS! YOUR COURIERS ARE LIARS!
I HAVE A CHILD ON THE WAY IN A MATTER OF DAYS AND YOU HAVE COMPLETELY RUINED THIS PERIOD FOR ME.
YOU LOT DESERVE TO GO INTO ADMINISTRATION.
ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!
YOU DESERVE EVERYTHING YOU GET!
Always good quality at Mothercar
My shopping experience was good. The product was easy to find and in the sale. Hopefully delivery will be good. I have shopped at Mothercare for many years, both for my own children and now my grandchildren. It is sad to hear that you will be disappearing off of the high street, you always got quality from Mothercare.
Don't bother
Ordered a matress for their travel cot in 29/10/19. Couldn't find one anywhere else I will just add. Got a confirmation email on the 30th to say would be delivered between the 1st and 5th November and that was it. No confirmation of order on its way. Tried to track the order but said it didn't exist. Decided to wait until today as the last delivery day is the 5th. Rung up this morning to be told it was never going to be sent out for delivery! No offer to redeliver it ASAP. I may also add I am due in 2 days time. The only suggestion the lady on the phone had was for me to go to all the local stores. Which aren't that local and see if they have one in or to give me a refund which would leave me without a use able travel cot. She was very nice on the phone so I can't complain about her but seriously I've waited all these days and you weren't even going to bother to tell me my order wasn't arriving and now your expecting me to go to all my local stores to see if they have one. No offer to give me the delivery charge back or something toward me now having to spend yet more money driving around to try and get a matress.
I personally don't think this is acceptable.
Excellent product information
Excellent product information and helpfulness from staff member Kimberley at Watford Mothercare on a buggy/ pram.
Brilliant knowledgable customer service at Torquay store
I recently came in to the Torquay store to have a car seat fitted. Despite the rain and me not having booked an appointment, both Charlotte and Kathy were amazing. I had many questions and had them trying different seats in multiple times. They were so patient and did it all with a smile on their faces, really easing my fears and making adjustments to make sure the seat fit perfectly. I had a terrible experience at Halfords by comparison, being rushed out, poor knowledge and little time and care taken to explain anything. Both of these ladies really knew their stuff, including the benefits of extended rear facing up to 4 years old and beyond, and made what could have been a really stressful experience, much more enjoyable! I would highly recommend this store and their staff to anyone who needs reassurance and help in choosing a car seat. Well done ladies!
Service is a Joke!
Ordered a car seat and given a date that it would be delivered by. Didn’t hear anything by this date so checked my order and it had been cancelled with no explanation why. Called customer service who told me it was because the item was out of stock and that I should check the website and reorder when it was back in stock. The item was £50 when I ordered it and had gone back up to £100, so why would I pay double the original price? I had a conversation with customer service over text when I made a complaint and was told that they would honour the original price when the item was back in stock. When I checked the website it was listing the item as in stock so I asked for it to be reordered to which I was told the item was actually out of stock??? There are serious failings either with the stock taking, the website or the customer service provided by Mothercare. How can they sell and take money for items that are not in stock and continue to offer the item to purchase even after cancelling previous orders. It seems to me that they had no interest in offering a solution and no intention of honouring the price as promised. I would not use Mothercare in the future. At a time when many companies are struggling and going into administration, reliable, trustworthy and helpful customer service is more important than ever. The service I experienced was appalling. Shame on you Mothercare. I shall be buying the required car seat from a different retailer.
Love it
Love mother care my baby has big feel and the clouths seem to be The only place that fits and click and collect is so quick and easy. And are so much more reasonable piced compared to years ago
Extremely angry and disappointed, issue still pending and not resolved, could some credible higher up deal with this issue from Mothercare please.
(My order number is 38825167) my review is extensive so be please patient and read through it as YOU DO NOT WANT TO GO THROUGH THE SAME EXPERIENCE.
We are expecting my first child and I am currently 37 weeks pregnant. My partner and I placed a furniture order for a cot bed, changing unit and a mattress from Mothercare’s marlow range a month and a half ago, leaving plenty of time for our baby to arrive and the nursery to be ready way in advance. Mothercare texted us that they will be delivering our order a week after we had placed it. My partner booked his annual leave In order to receive the order but nothing was delivered and no explanation provided. We were texted with delivery slot of 8:30am to 10:30am therefore we waited until 10:30pm at home thinking maybe Mothercare got the delivery time wrong. The next day we called up Mothercare to enquire about the delivery and were told that apparently Mothercare has no idea as to what is happening to our order and kept us waiting on the line for more than an hour hr so they could reach their delivery company to see what was happening. Then we were informed that one of our item is damaged and that it had to be sent back to Mothercare and once received, Mothercare will dispatch the new items to the delivery company who will rearrange another day for delivery (baring in mind that one whole day was already wasted because of their incompetence)
once again we were given a new slot by the delivery company and my partner booked another annual leave to collect the items . to our amazement once again NO ONE TURNED UP. So now because Of mother care and the delivery companies’ lack of professionalism, my partner has lost two annual holiday which will now impact our schedule once the baby arrives. We called Mothercare again and were told that they don’t know what’s going on and have to speak to the delivery company. We waited on the call for more than 40 mins and were told to call back tomorrow (which was a Saturday) to see what’s happening to the order as DX(mothercare’s delivery company) wasn’t sure which item is missing, the customer assistant I spoke to knew that DX was closed on Saturday yet she told me to call them regardless.
As advised, I called on Saturday and spoke to a representative called Muhammad who told me DX was closed and that I will have to call again on Monday and then ask someone to chase this matter for me. Furious, I told him that they should contact me and update me on Monday as I shouldn’t have to chase for mothercare’s inability to deliver my stuff on time, as it’s their job to chase their delivery company and make sure my order arrives, I shouldn’t have to chase them.
Monday arrives and nobody rang me so I called again and spoke to a customer care staff called Maxine who refused to talk to me stating that I am not the initial customer and that I need my partners permission to speak to Mothercare in regards to our order, I was extremely shocked at that customer assistants rude behaviour and questioned her regarding how all of her colleagues have been managing to speak to me without asking for my partners consent yet she can’t do the same at which point Maxine laughed and disrespectfully ignored my question and told me to ask my partner to call back when he is back from work. I am unsure if Maxine has the slightest clue in respect of GDPR however as I’m 37 weeks pregnant, I didn’t want to argue however I was very angry at her behaviour but I kept quiet and said my partner will call when he comes back from work. When my partner came from work he called and spoke to Maxine who told him that she couldn’t help as she doesn’t know what is going on upon which my partner requested to speak to somebody with more authority who could deal with this matter urgently as mother care are not just in breach of their contract with us but have dealt with this matter with negligence and shown no duty of care or professionalism by purposely allowing this to go on for far too long without a resolution.
We filed a complaint and someone called Chris from Mothercare called us and after knowing the whole story, told us that because one of our item is damaged, they don’t know how long it will take to be delivered so he suggested we cancel our initial order and he will place a new one to which we agreed as we now do not have much time left to order from any other shop as every shop has a long lead time.THEREFORE WE ARE IN CATCH 22. He booked in the delivery for Monday 28/10/19. The next day Chris called my partner and told him they had run out of the mattress that we had ordered and that if we wanted to buy the mattress which was £5 more than our initial mattress. My partner refused as we didn’t want to complicate the matter more and asked him to check stocks in store so we can collect the mattress ourselves. Chris checked and was forcing my partner to pay for it again to my partners surprise as we had already paid for our goods. Eventually it costed my partner time and petrol to go and collect the mattress in store for which we already had paid for and for it to be delivered, we still didn’t say anything and waited for the rest of the order to arrive.
Now the order arrived this Monday 28/10/19 which we couldn’t open till yesterday due to urgent hospital appointments, and when we opened it the COT WAS DANGEROUSLY DAMAGED, which included the bed and one of the planks from changing unit which was a bit chipped and there was no removable changing top provided either which was part of the bundle package. We called today to speak to Chris again as he previously told us that he is the allocated person for our “case” and we should speak to him whenever we call, so today my partner called and spoke to YET ANOTHER representative called Mujaheed who unapologetically informed us that Chris is not available and can’t talk to us, therefore he will call back when he has time to which my partner insisted this matter to be resolved and requested Mujaheed to pass us to a manager who can sort all this out. however we were provided with no details. eventually he reordered our order and has asked us to wait for their company called DX to get in contact with us to arrange yet another delivery.
We have been waiting for more than 6 weeks now, the baby can arrive any time and Mothercare still has not delivered the furniture. It has emotionally tortured me as a pregnant women who is already going through a lot at this stage of pregnancy and added extra unnecessary stress to my life which really was not needed. My partner has already booked and wasted annual leaves on waiting for the delivery to arrive which we were saving for holidays for once the baby arrives. However as pre mentioned, due to Mothercare’s incompetence to deliver our items in time , the holidays have been wasted.
We are still waiting for this order to arrive and really hope that somebody from Mothercare picks this up and sorts it out ASAP. I have never had such a bad experience in my entire life from any company. Mothercare should care about mothers instead of humiliating, ignoring and treating them like trash. I would be asking Mothercare for compensation and if my ordered in not delivered this time around, I will be perusing this matter with the trading standards so no other customer and especially expectant mother have to go through the same horrible torturous experience that I’m going through right now. Mothercare has not just breached their contract with us but they also have breached the duty of care towards myself, my partner and my baby who can arrive any time and still has no place to sleep safely.
This time was meant to be an exciting journey for my family in preparation for our first babies arrival however thanks to Mothercare, I can’t wait to wake up from this nightmare.

Car seats - excellent service from Hannah Smith (Leicester Store)
Over the last few months I have received fantastic service from Hannah Smith at Mothercare's Leicester store. She helped me deal with several tricky issues regarding the fitting of my children's car seats and was friendly and professional throughout. Very impressed with her knowledge and confidence regarding the choosing and fitting of car seats.
