The company is a shambles, they don’t answer the phone and without going into the detail I’ve had a really bad experience with them which resulted in me cancelling my policy. Don’t use them.

Bought policy in May 2017. Broken links to policy documentation and was sold as nationwide with onward journey..
Now here's the problem. My rare car has broken down with gearbox failure there's only 2 Sepcalists in the country that have parts and can fit them, with the closest being 120miles away.
Phoned them to ensure that journey is covered as had a local garage confirm the gearbox is (fubar) and replcement needed... "Yeah that's not a problem your covered to go anywhere in the uk"
Didn't mention that to complete the journey there's £370 fee for 95miles that's £3.80p/m
Like others I've gone back to the bigger more mainstream recovery companies ... yes the policy is just over double the price but actually gives you the cover you expect.
DO NOT USE WARNING
DO NOT USE WARNING , unfortunately I went on comparison site and went with this bunch of crooks took my money first year I never needed them then as soon as needed on second year tried to con me out of hundred pound or not send anyone , I will now just stick with proper well known companies wish I had read all reviews before as they say how big and good company they are but see what happens when you break down , BEWARE
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
After I was involved in an accident, I was kept waiting for over 2hrs with no calls to keep me informed of whatwas happening. My car had broken down on a tight road just off a mini roundabout and I was receiving abuse from other vehicles despite my hazard lights being on. It was a bitter cold November morning and I was frozen.
The recovery driver who eventually turned up was grinning all over his face and threw out an insincere apology, saying he took the wrong route. He then refused to tow my car to the recommended garage of my insurance company, taking it to their own depot.
As a result, I was charged almost £700 storage and recovery costs after my car was written off, as this was handled by a separate company!!! The worst service I've ever received, especially after I was really shaken up and scared after my accident. Please do not buy with them!!!
I gave the company another chance as …
I gave the company another chance as last year my son had a flat tyre and repair kit as standard in new cars, they would not comd out or help arrange a fitter to come out, so when I renew I told them of this and they said changed the policy and would come out now. Today Sunday my son is stuck 300 miles from home and has a space saver which he has put on but instructions say do not drive more than 50 miles on this. I ask that they try and get a repair company out to fix or recover him home. Told could not help and would not recover home only to the nearest garage what good is that on a Sunday when everything is closed the least they could do in this situation is to recover him home which what I thought this policy covered but like others on this site we have all been mislead. I will not bs renewing with this company and will be taking thing further with the company
STEER WELL CLEAR OF THIS ONE
STEER WELL CLEAR OF THIS ONE, they are a big con, broke down, they wouldn't come to me unless I paid them, they said that as I had had a service on my car a couple of months ago it was probably due to the repairs!!! I explained that as I was going on a long trip, I had the car serviced, new tyres etc, and all that was not repairs, but general maintenance of my vehicle. They weren't having any of it. Took my money, promised all sorts of Cover, and when needed, came up with silly excuses to not help, as lady on her own I could have been put in a dangerous situation. I shall be talking to my solicitor on this one. As far I'm concerned. They are in breach of contract,

Excellent service
Excellent service - clutch on my van failed, called 2Gether Motor Breakdown at 6am on Saturday 2nd September 2017, spoke to Russell (out of hours team) who was polite, helpful & very efficient... 6:30am I received a call from Roy at East Anglia Services (the vehicle recovery operator) who was able to attend promptly & recover the van to a garage 19 miles from my home... Very impressed with the whole experience - superb value motor breakdown assistance from 2Gether Insurance, many thanks!
Broke down - No cover unless I pay £90 up front
I would not even have given one star if I could have left none.
This Company emailed me to advise me that my cover was coming up for renewal - here is a copy of the letter I sent them
Hi
Please do not auto renew this policy.
We phoned your company for assistance yesterday and were told that we would only receive service if we paid £90 odd up front.
The operator was not interested in listening to our side of things and because we have actually had two breakdowns in one week that the breakdowns must be related and we therefor not covered by this policy.
We explained that the van had been repaired by a reputable garage and offered to send a copy of the receipt. Service was again refused unless we paid £90 odd up front.
The garage confirms that these two breakdowns are not related.
Its now the time of year when I come to renew my motor breakdown policy, this year I am going to find cover that actually does not let me down when I need the most.
I must remember to log on to Trust pilot and leave a review so that others cam see what happens if you by cheap breakdown cover.
Please confirm via email that this policy will not auto renew.
Yours sincerely
Great if you're happy with slow sloppy service
Left me and the family on the side of the motorway for 2 hours and 36 minutes from the original time of 60 - 90 minutes, kept having to call them and the time they kept giving kept extending. They said the guy was just finishing his other job but the guy that came just started his shift. Avoid if you want a more quicker reliable service.
We will not cover: not being used for Non-Commercial Use!!
On the way back from Hull comic-con my clutch cable on my transit van snapped. Only about 10 miles from home but had to call out a breakdown truck. No problem I thought I have cover. Phoned them up and explained the problem and I was on the way back home after an event with stock in my van. Oh sorry sir your not covered for that only social, domestic and pleasure, not for business use. So cost me £98 to get a tow truck to get me home. But can't cancel the policy and get my money back even though it is not fit for purpose. No mention in their website and general cover exclusion before you buy their cover that it does not cover you when vehicle used for business. Travelling to and from an event with stock is classed as business use to them. It's hidden away in the terms and condition. Even that is worded badly as a double negative. Policy wording "Significant exclusions and limitations: We will not cover: not being used for Non-Commercial Use". Surely that should be "We will not cover. being used for Commercial use". Also even after paying my £98 it took them over 2 hours to get to me, I was on a main road near Bolton so not even in the middle of nowhere. Having spoken to other vehicle recover companies they would have covered me as it was my own stock, I was not acting as a courier.
Motorhome 5,500 kg Refused Service Despite Confirmation at Renewal
This company, and its new incarnation, EMERGENCY ASSIST, cannot be trusted and will avoid its obligations. I especially warn any owner of a MOTORHOME who has been told that it is covered to a WEIGHT of up 5,500 kg. Despite CONFIRMATION from the company that motorhome up to 5,500 kg is covered, in the event of the breakdown I experienced, the company REFUSED TO ATTEND claiming that their cover is restricted to a weight limit of 3,500 kg. They conveniently cannot produce the recorded audio of the telephone conversations in which the weight of 5,500 kg was confirmed. My own written notes, taken at the time of the calls, shows absolutely that 5,500 kg, vehicle was covered. This fact having been re-confirmed with her supervisor.
Edit
2Gether Breakdown aka On Your Own Breakdown
I bought my breakdown insurance through a comparison with 2Gether. I purchased Home Start and Nationwide rescue and today my car exhaust came away from my car. I pulled over as when driving on bumps on the road it came close to hitting the floor and being torn off. I called my breakdown and they refused to come out for my car as they deemed it as "driveable" I stated it was not safe to drive and was not road worthy and so I couldn't move it. I was continuously refused assistance and the member of staff I spoke to was rude, patronising and simply did not listen to my situation. I stated I could not get it to a garage (close or far) as it was at risk of causing an accident for me or any other drivers around me. Again the person I spoke to said it was "driveable" so I can get it to a garage. I then asked if my vehicle was leaking fluids but still drove would they come out for that and he stated "depends on the situation" which is ridiculous as if a vehicle is not safe to drive then your breakdown should be able to take it to a safe place if you've paid for that service. I feel misled and misold a policy that does absolutely nothing and I don't feel I can contact 2Gether as they would not even listen to my situation and left me stranded as an alone person away from home unable to drive my vehicle.
Save yourself money and trouble
Save yourself money and trouble. AVOID AVOID AVIOD. Complete shysters. Wont turn up, wont call you back and will leave you in an emergency even though you have a policy. Stick with the AA or RAC. Seriously. Oh, and they dont answer emails either!!!! SCUM COMPANY
Pile of utter crap paid for the top …
Pile of utter crap paid for the top package broke down to be told
They wouldn't take me home, but could have a
Room for the night at 11pm for £40 a person then I have to get the van recovered oh right, just pure con, no wonder it's less than a night out as they don't help
The company is a complete waste of time …
The company is a complete waste of time and money. ETA claim was 90 minutes and then lied about everything eventually arriving many hours later.
They have decided to hand the breakdown cover to emergency assist who are not covered by the fca. A very clever move.
This company don't even deserve 1 star
This company don't even deserve 1 star! Apparently almost everything is excluded, most of the reasons you would call a breakdown company. I was left stranded on 3 occasions as they wouldn't come out. Made a formal complaint and got no response. Asked for the manager to call me back several times, no call back. I will never use this company again. Wasted money for no service.
Avoid
Do not use they never turned up to a breakdown after 5 hours and I had to get a different company to recover me.
They then tried to charge me an extra £98.40 .
No customer service at all AVOID unless you fancy being stuck at the side of the Rd.
DO NOT USE. CON ARTISTS
2gther is corrupt. Charging me £98.40 for a call out they didnt even attend. When I rang for assistance at 5pm I was informed the worse case scenario in waiting time would be 60 to 90minutes so they should of been no later than 6.30pm so I agreed for the brakedown company to be sent. Then i recieved a text from the breakdown company informing me est time of arrival 6.45pm. This was not acceptable as I was in a private car park and gates are locked at 6.30pm so my car would not be accessible. I immediately rang them back to inform them of the situation to be told I would be charged. Any decent company would issue you with an apology not a fine. Rude nasty staff and totally corrupt company. They have also terminated my policy due to the dispute. In the short of it they want in total £130 due to them not being able to provide a satisfactory service and are unable to stick to their timeguides.I Will be getting extra advice from ombudsmen and reporting the company to watchdog. DO NOT USE!!!!!
AWFUL RUDE NO SERVICE
Listen to me everyone:
A) If you call them, don't tell them your car has been repaired recently or battery changed, because you will have to pay £98.00 CALL OUT CHARGE NON REFUNDABLE from what they say ,the fault might relate to previous repair,so if the mechanic see the proof of repair IT HAS TO BE over 5 weeks although it is not in the T& C and the repair needed to be different fault you will be refunded if not, you lose the £98:
B) Another Scenario,If you were not asked and did not mention about any previous repair, their mechanic will diagnose the car and pull it to the nearest garage,T&C SAYS their mechanic is a temporary repair and major repair should be undertaken by the garage,( now this is the point) if you breakdown again ,they will not attend you without the call out charge of £98 because your car has been recently repaired.that means this policy is not free and not unlimited call.
They refused me with my 3 kids on board on the road night and cold and the lady was rude and failed to show me about the call out charge or the changing of battery but she insisted any recent repair including battery changed it counts ,and she went far to say ,if you change battery yourself, you will not have proof that, it was properly repaired so you will still have to pay and no refund because you have not brought your car to a garage.
So choose cheap and pay 3 times extra each call or pay little extra to another provider and pay nothing and get service.
