Movers Direct were excellent. Their inventory tool was very helpful in preparing for a quote. Nicola was prompt in responding to any queries via phone and email and it felt like everything was under control. The actual move was seamless and the two movers were very friendly and helpful. The price was very competitive.

The guys were great. We had a lot of boxes over and above the furniture plus a lot of garden plants and heavy furniture but managed to finish in two trips.

I would thoroughly recommend Movers Direct. They were entirely understanding and flexible about the issues with planning ahead due to problems with exchanging and completing and were excellent at communicating (and reassuring me) throughout the arranging of the move. The removal people were efficient and friendly, which is important when you're inviting people into your home(s). They were also 40% cheaper than the other three quotes I got for the move. I've already recommended them to my family members about to do their own move.

My move had been on and off for two weeks and by the time I rang Movers Direct I was really stressed out with it. They were brilliant right from the off! I struggled with the online inventory form, being of a "certain age" (!!) and Nicola kindly completed it all for me. The guys were prompt, friendly, efficient and willing to help us with anything. It was such a relief after all that stress! I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Movers Direct - they really do care.

I used Movers Direct for a 1 bed flat move at the end of January. My experience with them leading up to the day of the move was fantastic; great communication (even outside their normal business hours) with questions answered promptly. I had quotes from multiple companies but ultimately decided to pay the premium for Movers Direct as their reputation and service seemed excellent.

Unfortunately, things started going downhill on moving day. The guys who carried out the move arrived nice and early and appeared to handle the job with efficiency and care. However, after they finished unloading everything and assembling furniture at the new house, they were suspiciously quick to leave, giving me no realistic amount of time to say something in case of a problem. They had not long been gone when I noticed a fresh gouge and scratch on the top surface of my desk.

I wasted no time in contacting them about the damage and although I was unable to get through to them over the phone, I had a response via text later that evening. In subsequent emails, they asked for three things: a photo of the damage, the invoice for the desk, and a quote for repair, all of which I promptly supplied. Since it's an IKEA desk with a veneer top and the damage goes straight through the veneer, it's not possible to repair as such, so I instead quoted for a replacement top sold separately by IKEA.

It has been three weeks and I've heard nothing back from them since.

I think it's worth pointing out that I don't believe I could possibly have been a nicer customer to them. In spite of paying for full service, I went out of my way to prepare for the move and make it easier for them:

- I packed odds and ends in my car the night before
- I separated most of my belongings from the kitchen onto the worktop (leaving only two cupboards to empty)
- I supplied original packaging for most of my electronics
- I helped with packing by boxing up some of my speakers

Prior to accepting the quote, I even contacted the office out of concern for the drivers as another quote I received from elsewhere estimated a two day move as opposed to one, and I didn't want the drivers to be getting home too late - something some people probably wouldn't care about, but I'm in the habit of "considering the human" and this was no exception.

Despite all of that and reaching out to them via email, 4 phone calls, SMS, and even a message on their Facebook page, remaining polite and patient the entire time, they have chosen to completely ignore me. This has caused me a lot of undue stress and completely undone the satisfaction I had with their service. It's still ongoing and I'm hoping leaving this review in a few places will prompt them to follow up.

To anyone contemplating choosing Movers Direct, my advice is to look elsewhere. I wish I had instead gone with a member of the British Association of Removers (BAR) or The National Guild of Removers and Storers (NGRS), as they're supposed to at least be held to certain standards where consumer protection is more of a priority.

If you decide to use Movers Direct anyway, my advice is to take photos or videos of your furniture the day before the move and check it over once the move is done but before the drivers leave. They make no effort to take note of your belongings or the condition they're in before/after removal (not even for insurance purposes, despite the price supposedly including coverage for up to £10k in value) so it's in your best interest to do so yourself.

Whatever you choose, I hope you don't end up with an experience like mine.

If I could give these folks 6 stars, I would. Positive customer service and communication pre-move (Atlanta to St. Simons Island) from Christy in the office. Great packing/moving/unloading experience thanks to Danny, Ronnie and their crew. On time, as scheduled, transit...and no damage. Oh, and did I mention they beat the national "big boys", price wise, by about 40%? Based on my experience, you can't go wrong using Movers Direct.

Talk about stress free. The men were brilliant polite, understanding and hard working. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Have already recommended them to friends.
