Very poor ran housing association

Very poor ran housing association. Got no interest in there Tennants issues I've been with Muir nearly 11 years and I've never experienced a good situation from them. The people running it are clueless and have no idea what so ever. They have a "what do you want us to do attitude. When I was homophobicily abused they didn't want to know, I've spent years trying to get repairs done. Our flats are in poor condition but all Muir want to do is lock people who need access to their electricity meter cupboard so Tennants can't top up electric meters.
I lose my temper with so quickly because of there attitude towards tenants. We have a fire hazard issue which if caught fire would course a disaster of an issue but Muir do not care. I rated them one as I couldn't rate a zero which it more suitable for Muir . The girls on the phone to are gooby because of the ctt unit
control them to be arse holes

Useless Muir group no heating for over a month.

Had to give one star, because it wouldn’t let me give none.

Where do I start, I’ve had no heating in any off my radiators since the 12th of January. I’ve had several different people come out and basically do nothing but press a few buttons, check my fuse box, take some pictures and leave. Ive been left with two crappy little heater which use 1 pound per hour, and Muir group are only willing to give me 5 pound per day, towards the cost of these crappy little heaters. Pure cheek!!!!!
been on the phone nearly every single day, trying to get this resolved, and still nothing. I’ve asked for complaints team, to be told nobody in office, I’ve sent formal complaints through email, still nothing.

Muir group housing, doesent care about you or their homes, all there intrested in rent.

If there’s anybody out there looking at a Muir group home, avoid at all cost.

Really not good experience

I have warned Muir several times that I would start writing reviews if this situation didn't get resolved and they've done nothing - so here we are! We bought a Muir Home in May. Beautiful house, we were so pleased. However - as soon as we moved in we realised we had no water pressure. The site manager at the time gaslighted me saying I was wrong, wouldn't come into the house to run a tap and check. Several plumbers came in and confirmed that we had very low water pressure. Showers didn't work properly, washing machine was stinking. They cleared a blockage (the one the site manager insisted didn't exist) and the problem was marginally better. However six months on my toilets still don't flush properly, meaning there's excrement in my toilets daily (I have two small children) and I cannot use my lovely new electric shower on full power because the water pressure doesn't support it. I have complained yet again this week - but I'm not holding my breath... Meanwhile there were over 150 snags in the property. These have been slowly and steadily resolved, largely down to Alan (contracts manager) who has been incredibly helpful. But it's still like pulling teeth to get anything resolved.

Excellent company and Louise who…

Excellent company and Louise who manages Riverside of Blairs is just wonderful! So helpful, such a great personality and amazing at what she does!

Bought three homes with Muirs (Personally and for business needs) each time home has been to a high standard! Never had a single issue with any house.

Not only that, the design of these homes are just beautiful! I really would never use any other builder when buying!

Thanks Muir, Very happy! ☺️

Please think twice before buying a Muir home

We bought a new build Muir home in Strathord park Stanley in 2019 .we have had numerous problems from leaks to Ill filled doors, extractor fans not connected.we have recently noticed water damage in our bathroom which is going to cost £1000s to fix . Muir customer service is absolutely shocking with shocking attitude. The damage is due to the bath not fitted properly and shower screen fitted incorrectly.i would never buy from Muir homes again.

My muir property was in a depressing state and they didn't handle a neighbour bullying me situation well/correctly. The perpetrator was allowed to stay and never reprimanded and me the victim had to leave for my own sanity. I recieved no support with this

Don’t buy from Muir

I don’t think they will ever improve. They will be just ok before they take your money,
and change their attitude immediately after handover. You will never get anything back from customer care and I don’t think that they actually have a dedicated customer care department.

Lack any consideration

Recently wanted to view a part ownership property in Chester but was declined until financial assessment had been carried out. Due to relationship breakdown and financial control my credit history had taken a plummet but only since the separation. Prior to this it was exemplary. Provided evidence I would be cash buyer on 50% of property along with proof of funds. Supervisor was on leave so had to wait for her return the following week. I specifically asked if I could be contacted to explain situation in more detail due to sensitivity of it. Would not contact me and gave blanket no so I could not progress. I attempted to provide further details and asked if they would review but on both occasions there was an immediate response with no so clearly couldn't have been reconsidered in any detail. I am sure I am not the first person they have dealt with in this situation and won't be the last. Appalling attitude and a very upsetting experience. Muir housing use metro finance to obtain financial details and then ask for all your details to be sent over to them. Interestingly I haven't had the same problem with another housing group.

Avoid Muir Homes!!

We were meant to buy a muir home at the Clachan in Aberdeen, and I'm so glad it fell through, the sheer lack of communication, the finishing, the price just nothing was great at all, we were then due to get one of their new ones at Blairs, it was to be launched in August last year, then September, then October then we never heard anything again, every time we went up for a look nothing further had been done it was exactly the same. We eventually gave up and went elsewhere, I'm so glad we did, we bought a barratt home and we are absolutely in love with it! The whole journey was seamless, the staff were faultless from start to finish, and only now, 8 months from the last email, have we received a bog standard generic email from their sales advisor at Blairs with the price list, which might I add is extortionate compared to our own, bigger might I add, home we are currently in! Would advise anyone to steer clear of Muir Homes, absolute shambles from the ground up!

Please do not buy a Muir Homes house

I do not recommend buying a house from this builder.
As per other reviews, this organisation have abandoned phase 3 of the Auchterarder Castleton site before completion.
Unfortunately before purchase you cannot see the warning signs such as a huge turnover of staff during construction. From there on there were constant excuses for things not being finished or remediated. It would seem that some of the contract trades-people on the building phase must have been early apprentices or just totally incompetent as our snagging lists were ridiculous - in some cases it was an appalling quality of workmanship to the point of being dangerous (one example being an upper room floor baton being held on one side by 3 nails!!!)
This so-called luxury housing estate has left residents with huge piles of rubbish and earth, half finished roads, no pedestrian paving and dangerous overgrown public areas.
It would seem that once they have the house sale there is little interest in the customer whatsoever. This is a prime example of how not to operate a residential building firm; they simply shouldn’t be allowed to sell so-called ‘luxury homes’.
Buyer beware! Visit ‘The Castleton’ phase 3 before you leave a deposit for your new home!

Do not buy a Muir Home

Whatever anyone does, please don't buy from Muir homes . Muir homes, have pulled out of Auchterarder Castleton and left the site as a building site. Roads unfinished, 3 foundations for houses layed but not completing houses with a half built fence around them in an attempt to hide them, the site yard and offices are now derelect. Paths unfinished and still hard-core, no tarmac. Ground works have been left in a terrible state with massive mounds of earth being left where the plant machinery put them! An open space which was meant to be a football pitch is now an overgrown piece of waste ground with fencing around it which is half up and now a danger to pedestrians.Muir left this site over a month ago and refuse to reply to any communications. Top job Muir homes, you should be ashamed of yourself!
