Deeply disappointed

I’ve used Mullvad and have always considered it one of the best VPNs when it comes to privacy and security. My experience with the service itself has been very good, and I still have a lot of respect for the work they’ve done to protect users’ privacy.

However, I’m deeply disappointed by the recent 5 million SEK (around €450,000) political donation made by a Mullvad co-founder and 50% owner.

I understand that it was a personal donation and not made by Mullvad itself. But that personal wealth comes from owning a company funded by its users’ subscriptions, so calling it “personal” doesn’t completely separate it from the company for me.

What makes it even more disappointing is that the money went to a far-right party whose leader has promoted “remigration” and has used the word “parasites” when referring to immigrants and people from other backgrounds.

I’m not questioning Mullvad’s privacy, security, or the quality of the service. Those remain excellent. I’m simply disappointed in the people behind a company I used to have a lot of respect for.

Because of this, I’ve decided not to renew my subscription for now.

I hope this situation is reconsidered in the future.

3,6 stars...oh well, if you take a lcareful ook, only 1 and 5 stars. Teh 1 stars argument their dissatisfaction, teh 5 stars are generic dead end comments. Scam N 1. Hower, that said, here comes Scam N 2: if you dream of watching your favourite channels from abroad, forget it. There are free options out there that give you the right result (it does not have to be better, I just want a VPN to work). Yet you even pay for this scam and get no luck with any channel in any country. I am really not sure where is the value here. It is heart breaking see companies taking advantage with intent and strategy of those who are looking for cheaper rates, after they failed with their technology.

To Mullvad Team,I am extremely disappointed with your service. I have already successfully completed my payment, but the VPN is completely unusable.To be honest, your current user interface is absolutely terrible and poorly designed. It makes the entire service impossible to navigate or functional.Since I cannot use what I paid for, I demand either an immediate technical fix or a full refund within the 30-day guarantee period.

I regularly use Mullvad VPN in countries where access to certain apps that I strictly need is blocked. This service is amazing. I absolutely love their pricing policy, the price stays the same whether you pay for a single month or a whole year, with no hidden traps. On top of that, their commitment to complete anonymity and privacy is top-notch. Mullvad has never failed me, it literally saves me and my workflow.

I’ve also downloaded the Mullvad Browser. I haven't needed to actually use it yet, so I can't give a proper review on its performance, but just knowing that I have this reliable tool ready to go if needed gives me great peace of mind. Massive respect to the developers for creating such a solid product.

I live in China, where the number of working VPNs has dwindled over the past few years-- today it's basically a choice between this and Astrill.

Unfortunately Mullvad is now so slow that it struggles even to load my email, let alone streaming services. I've contacted with support multiple times, but once they find out I'm in China they basically just tell you to suck it up or find another service--no interest in helping to resolve connection issues.

Seems to work well enough outside of China, but then so do all VPNs. I feel like they Mullvad should offer some disclaimer like "doesn't really work in China" or "if you are in China, we have no interest in assisting you" just to be transparent from the beginning

Weirdly enough, my favorite thing about Mullvad is the random account number. No email, no profile, no “build your dashboard” nonsense, just a number and you’re in. It almost feels like using a burner phone in the best way possible. There’s something refreshing about not being treated like a marketing funnel. It’s quiet, simple, and kind of old-school in a way that makes you trust it more.

Run this VPN for 2 months on Win10 and has caused no end of problems. Credit cards declined on miltiple occaisions, and network settings interfered with under the covers. Final straw came as I spent 2 hours resolving no internet connectivity that was caused by this VPN leaving my DNS server config compromised. I admire their ambition, but unfortunately the product is just too flaky. I had to de-install unfortunately.

I was using another provider for some time and was quite happy with their service and never had an issue. I swapped to Mullvad VPN some 6 months ago on the belief that it was more secure and I a gave it a really good go. Initially it seemed good and I didn't have any issues, then I noticed a few annoying but workable options so I persevered. Then I was noticing that while Mullvad was reporting I was successfully connecting to a location accessing some commercial webistes were not showing the correct location. Using different IP Location tools I noticed discrepancies in geo location something I had not experienced with other tools. I attempted to resolve the issue with support on a number of occasions and was provided with poor responses in an inexplicable justification blaming other sites. I have NEVER had this issue with my previous VPN Provider. Having worked in IT for over 35 years none of their responses provide me with any measure of confidence. I also had noticed that my system started to slow immensely in particular when shutting down. In the end I stopped using the service even though it meant forgoing about 50 days of service and swapped back to my previous provider. I reconnected to my previous provider had no geo location issues and the speed of my connection and system increased dramatically. I like giving services a try but I won't go back to Mullvad ... my experience was horrible.

Decent and easy to connect when you first download but a pain when trying to disconnect!

I use Mullvad VPN for some months now and I am very happy with it. It is simple to use and not make problem like some other VPNs. Connection is fast and stable, I can watch videos and browsing internet without stop or lag.

What I like most is that Mullvad not ask for email or many personal information. This make me feel more safe and private. Price is also fair and same for all, no tricks or hidden cost.

App work good on my Windows and also on phone. Interface is clean and easy, even for people who are not tech expert. If you want VPN that just work and not complicate things, Mullvad is very good choice.

I recommend Mullvad to everyone who need privacy and reliable VPN service.

This is honestly the only VPN I’d ever stick with after switching. I’ve tried pretty much every mainstream VPN out there, and Mullvad is the one that’s never let me down. The company is super transparent, the service is rock solid, and it just works when you need it to. A lot of the features they offer aren’t even available with other providers, and they’re clearly built with privacy in mind. If you actually care about staying private online and getting around government restrictions, this is the VPN to use. The feature set is just on another level.

Love it, they value privacy over everything. They're up to date on obfuscation and the servers are blazing fast. No port forwarding anymore but I've been a customer for about five years.

Decent VPN overall, but it's completely unacceptable that certain locations — especially Ireland — become a traffic-jam every time there’s a Champions League match. A service I’m paying 5 EUR a month for shouldn’t grind to a crawl the moment demand spikes. If a provider can’t keep their servers stable during major events, that’s a serious reliability issue, not a minor inconvenience. They need to fix their infrastructure or stop advertising themselves as a premium streaming-friendly VPN.

I’ve been using Mullvad for a good while now, and it’s easily one of the best VPNs I’ve tried. What really stands out is how seriously they take privacy and censorship-resistance. They’ve got several different obfuscation methods available (four in total) which is brilliant for users in tougher regions like Russia or China where regular VPN traffic often gets blocked.

I also really appreciate Mullvad’s DAITA tech and their push towards quantum-resistant protocols. It feels like they’re genuinely thinking ahead, not just ticking marketing boxes.

Speeds have been solid, the app is clean and simple, and I love the whole anonymous-account approach. Overall, a proper privacy-focused service run by people who seem to actually care. Highly recommended.

Best Privacy VPN.

It's maybe not the best to watch streaming from other countries but my main concern it's the privacy in a VPN and this one is the best. Easy install, fair price, full of options.
