When I first paid for Carly, it was a one time purchase and a good value. However, to keep using it now I have to pay for a subscription and it isn't worth that price.

Had to buy another ODB2 device, 2nd one from Carly and the 2nd gen did not work. Not user friendly at all. Hard to tell what is wrong or what the check engine light is referring to in the app. Previous app and reader were easy and simple to use.

The responses were quick and somewhat helpful, but they can't do anything about the fact my hardware was never shipped. I am waiting for a response and hope I receive my doodadd soon.

Honestly not worth the money the app is mediocre and it’s expensive for what it is.

As noted by many other customers (both here and on numerous reviews elsewhere) the auto renewal process is pretty unscrupulous. They know full well they’ll get loads in from auto renewal a year later so don’t even have the courtesy of reminding you - they’ll just take another £100+ from your account. Such a trap and let’s be honest, it’s just a legal scam.

Save your money and avoid the auto renewal trap.

I expected Carly to allow me to program brightness of my LED DRLs which were installed at BMW, by BMW on my R-series MINI. This is not the case, even though the OEM (BMW) are able to program the FRM for this.

Several error codes are collected when reading the OBD. From the car dealer I learned that the OBD always generates error codes, but that these are only serious if a warning light flashes on and/or the message returns. The OBD keeps a history of messages so these may be irrelevant or solved. The software should be more selective in the generation of error messages and trying to sell all kinds of other modules

Great Information so far , was able to address one issue and clear it ...with some worthwhile elbow grease.
One irritation is that the app locks up when running a scan on some specifics such as audio equipment …
Another problem that has come to light after purchasing is the subscription model , not made clear initially and whilst I have had some value already , I would expect some great leaps forward in both diagnosis and remediation features to stick with it .

I encountered a problem initially, but the company resolved it immediately. I give this experience a 10/10 and highly recommend it.

It’s basically a scam. It works really well to start with then stops working while they try to squeeze you into paying high subscription fees. I have thrown mine away and bought a really good subscription free replacement. The Trustpilot reviews , the review scores and the fact YouTubers have stopped recommending them tells you all you need to know.

It is a subscription, but they just don't tell you. The support chat just keeps answering how transparent they are, but wont give you any link to terms and conditions and they are not to be found on their website.

If im honest I cant see the value in the product worth £40 a year tops

Worst scanner you can waste your money on. Bought for a Tesla. Came up with tons of fake codes that even a Tesla technician said aren't real codes. Then they automatically took £55 from my account a year later. I didn't sign up to a recurring payment. I wrote to Carly the day after they took it & asked for a refund as the scanner is useless. They refused. Disgusting customer service & useless product! Avoid at all costs!
