well, my experiences with namecheap have been excellent if not a little annoying. one time i lost my authenticator forall my logins, not just namecheap. used live chat and so annoying all the questions proving my site is mine. and of course i was in a panic having lost my authenticator. however, i really appreciate believing that absolutely no-one-else could have answered. got back into my site and was a happy camper another time i needed to change my billing cycle and, again questions, but it was changed before i knew she was even on it. i appreciate their process. plus, the namecheap crew are polite, experienced, knowledgeable, oh, and their knowledge base. concise enough for me to understand and follow. i can do it myself like right now. very cool. anyway, that’s just a few experiences with namecheap. thanks for listening.

UPDATE:
Updating this because Namecheap’s reply continues to avoid ownership of the actual issue.
To be clear, this was a false positive security review. There was no actual issue. Unfortunately, it took the team 48 hours to figure this out.
We provided everything requested. We followed the instructions we were given. We contacted support, provided PINs, emailed Risk Management, and waited.
Their response subtly indicates that we caused the problem by opening more than one email thread.
If the original email had produced any meaningful support for a business-critical outage, we would not have needed to continue reaching out for help.
A false positive on Namecheap’s side caused a paying customer to lose service for two days.
That is the issue.
Not the number of email threads.
Not the existence of a security review.
The issue is that there was no effective escalation path, no ownership, and no timely resolution while our business websites were offline.
If consistent and reliable hosting for your domain is a strong priority, I'd suggest going elsewhere.

I’ve used Namecheap for years, but after this experience, I’ve lost trust completely.
Our business domains have been down for 48 hours.
I’ve spent 4+ hours in the support chat, been passed between departments, provided PINs, repeated the same information multiple times, and followed every path they gave us.
Risk Management flagged the account for a potential security issue they say they can’t disclose. Understood.
But the Risk Management response time has been 12 hours between emails, while our business websites remain offline.
Customer Support acknowledged the poor experience and apologized. But when I asked for escalation to actually resolve the issue in a timely manner, my requests went unanswered.
At this point, the problem is not just the account lock.
It’s the complete lack of an escalation path when business-critical domains are down - and the fact that no one has taken action or ownership to address this major operational gap that can leave paying customers’ businesses offline for days.
After years as a customer, I no longer trust Namecheap with business-critical domains.

I am fully satisfied with Namecheap. They offer extremely comprehensive options for configuring domains, all within a very easy-to-use interface. What really stands out to me is the on-time execution of updates—there is practically no wait time for changes to propagate. It makes managing my domains a seamless and stress-free experience. Highly recommended!

I represent an organization that monitors cyber threats and phishing. For several months, we have been reporting to Namecheap about a network of active phishing domains that impersonate a legitimate service and collect payments from users via PayPal.
We provided Namecheap with comprehensive evidence:
- screenshots of active phishing pages,
- official public warnings from the legitimate rights holder,
- technical evidence (including HTTP redirect logs),
- references to ICANN RAA rules requiring registrars to investigate such cases.
In response, we received form letters: "we cannot confirm the violation," "contact law enforcement," and in one case we were explicitly told they would only act if presented with a U.S. court order.
We escalated this to ICANN Contractual Compliance, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, the Arizona Attorney General's Office, and a U.S. Senator's office. Representatives of the Arizona Attorney General called our complaint valuable — a direct acknowledgment that our submissions contain well-founded evidence of abuse.
Yet Namecheap continues to do nothing. The registrar has not provided any specific justification as to why our evidence is supposedly "insufficient." At the same time, Namecheap confirmed they conducted an "investigation" months ago, but no action has been taken to this day. This is a direct violation of ICANN RAA, Namecheap's own policies, and U.S. law.
Why does a company that is subject to government oversight refuse to stop fraud while people lose money?
If the Arizona Attorney General considers our complaint valuable, the problem clearly exists. But Namecheap prefers to protect phishers rather than users.
If Namecheap does not take action against the abusive domains, we will be forced to file new mass complaints with Namecheap and submit complaints to the relevant authorities, including the Arizona Attorney General's Office. We will not stop until the registrar begins to fulfill its obligations.
Great options for hosting and amazing customer support.

I had a problem with my website via Wordpress. Couldn't resolve it with the help of Claude so I tried the Livechat. Viktor H came online and repaired my website in less than 10 mins! I was blown away with Viktor's professionalism and politeness.

Outstanding customer support! I was having trouble typing due to health issue and instead of just pointing me to the documentation, the agent stepped in and handled the entire SSL installation for me without hesitation. Quick, empathetic, and highly professional.
