In 7 weeks on Netlify my website publishing accomplished more than hte last 7 years without it
I have used the site for 7 weeks for a lengthy website project I am building. I did use a lot of credits and upgraded to the lowest paid tier, but that was really by my own doing based on how frequently I wanted to improve pages I was rushing to publish. I could have saved money and used WordPress, but at the same time, that level of perfection before publishing is why I gained little to no momentum in publishing using WordPress. With Netlify, GitHub, and Claude Code, I have been able to draft, roadmap, and publish 6.5 years' worth of ideas in 6.5 weeks. Sometimes I need to wait before i push through a change but 2 weeks after upgrading i still am only at half of my credit limits. Once the foundation is built, and my entire knowledge base is published, I will not need ot be publishing at this pace for this site, and I can downshift packages or build my next site. I love that I found this and it fits my tech stack so well
I have never deployed a website…
I have never deployed a website before-- to a domain that I purchased from another service provider-- using another service provider-- after building my own independent work website. Therefore, my review miget be biased.
I deployed the independent website that I built with the assistance of Claude, through Netlify. Honestly I'm puzzled to read such negatively charged/emotional reviews (just skimmed a few of them)... especially because if the reviewers did indeed accomplish those tasks themselves (without using AI vibe coding excessively, a genie, etc.), it shouldn't be that intellectually challenging or frustrating to look for the relevant troubleshooting steps in Netlify.
I suspect that the reviews may not be truthful. I noticed a complaint about the credits not being worth much, but in my own experience I still have 299 credits left after successfully deploying my website (soomin.dev) without paying them with anything. I think there is some merit to the claim about DNS errors (I had to delete nameservers that don't belong to me or my website) and the documentation not being easy to follow (it can feel a bit like a maze of documents, navigating from one issue to another... the 2D UI/UX reminds me of something like a manual that Windows might have created, then left behind). It does require more reading and testing.
I guess the Netlify experience could be a double-edged sword, depending on what the User expects from a service provider. To me, it seems to be fairly well-designed for individual Users who have basic UI/UX literacy and are content to learn and figure things out by themselves-- without needing a Customer Service Agent (whether they are humans or bots... my guess is that there are more agentic AI than humans) holding their hand, babysitting their feelings, affirming their identities and/or politics as if that is what they are there for or are built for, and "checking in" on them... every step of the way and during every moment of their workday...

I had two of my accounts suspended for what appears to be no valid reason, and despite trying to get help, I received little to no meaningful customer support. It feels like the company relies almost entirely on AI, with no real effort to resolve legitimate customer issues.
Having your accounts suspended without a clear explanation can put your websites and business at serious risk. Imagine your ecommerce or website gets blacked out! exactly.. If your sites are important to you, I would think carefully before using this service. Based on my experience, they showed very little concern for resolving the problem or helping me recover my accounts.
Very disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this company.
Dont use netlify
Good for starting small and easy websites. Otherwise terrible. The ai credits run out half way through runs (even with remaining credits), and the ai does no work, therefore losing all the money spent on the credits. Bought credits and didn't receive them and the netlify support team offered no explanation and sent me a long spreadsheet with no times, impossible to decifer. Even with pro version support team takes at least a week to reply.
Pure crap
Pure crap. And a waste of time. Its good practice that you can take to other competition.
Not free. Probably scam.
"FREE" only on word. A static website went paused because of use of credit. Yeah, 300 credits for a static website with only 1 visitor (me) in one day.
The interface is pretty bad also, it is very difficult to manage simple tasks like see the content, force deploy etc...
This website looks like a scam...

Random suspensions, no support
Randomly suspended my account for no reason after I've been trying to launch my agency's website. Support is just ghosting me & didn't even comment on the issue for days. Shouldn't have trusted the recommendation here - what a waste of time.
Don't bother
Horrible site, I was wrongfully suspended and they didn't even bother to send me an email informing me of this. It could have been ages before I found out about this as I don't check my site regularly. Don't bother using this for hosting if you're site critically needs to remain available.
Avoid if You Value Your Time and Money
Netlify made my work disappear and still deducted the credits associated with it. I lost valuable time, received nothing in return, and got no response from support despite contacting them by email.
A platform that cannot protect users’ work and does not respond when problems occur should not be trusted with important projects. Extremely disappointing experience. I would not recommend Netlify based on the lack of reliability and customer support.
Absolute garbage!
They have a huge problem with DNS records. Any other hosting company it's quick and easy to add an A, CNAME, or MX record but they took a simple critical thing and made it complicated and nearly impossible to configure if your domain is registered by a third party which is often. They give you alternatives, such as configuring external, but nothing works. Their documentation is either outdated or flawed because it instructs interface navigation that is incorrect or no longer exists. The worst part about it is their support. There is no way to escalate a support ticket. If you have an outage you are screwed. I do not recommend this for businesses as it will affect your revenue from long outages.
Customer support is non-existent
Customer support is non-existent. They've been holding my domain hostage for weeks now and refuse to transfer it out. Will not be using Netlify ever again, and it's quite clear it's a poorly run company. Steer clear.
Buyer Beware: My Experience with Netlify and AI Runner Services
In my experience, Netlify and what appeared to be an AI Runner Services assistance service resulted in unexpected recurring charges. I found it difficult to remove my payment method, and I was frustrated by inadequate customer support. Despite attempts to resolve the issue through support channels, I was unable to get a satisfactory outcome. There was no option to remove payment methods. The cancellation process does not provide an email or text confirmation, and the support team completely ghosted me. The experience left me feeling that the service was not transparent enough about ongoing charges and account management. The entire situation caused me a lot of stress, especially dealing with the cancellation process and credit card disputes. I felt it was important to share this warning so people can make an informed decision before providing their payment information.
No response from Support
Paying for an account that in theory has Priority Email Support. Support email address is not easy to find and after 4 days I still didn’t receive a single response.

I ran 49 sites on Netlify across a few ventures. Looked fine on the surface. Then the bills started and the support tickets stacked up.
The platform auto-deploys burned through 3,000 build credits in three days. No one was even visiting the site. No alert, no throttle, no refund offered. The dashboard makes it look like everything is free until the meter quietly runs you over.
Filed a ticket. Seven business days to get a reply. The reply was a copy-paste link to a help article that did not address the question. Filed another. Same wait, same template response, different agent. Three rounds in, still no resolution.
For a small operator this is the worst combination: opaque pricing, runaway billing, and a support queue that punishes you for asking for help. The fixes are in their hands, not yours.
I moved everything off. The replacement is free, faster, and answers support in under a day.
Do not recommend. Look at Cloudflare Pages or Vercel before you sign up.
EXTORTION
Apparently I used credits when REDUCING image sizes for my sites on Netlify meaning LESS data on their servers and now they want me to pay in order to reopen access to my sites - including a current exam project!
That is extortion.
I wish I had read all these bad reviews of Netlify with similar experiences before using them. Will find alternatives ASAP.
And after they force you to pay:
"Once you upgrade to a credit plan, you will not be able to switch back." — The recipy for losing users.
Their new credit-based pricing is a…
Their new credit-based pricing is a scam, leaving the free plan practically useless.
Do not use Netlify's AI...and while you're at it, just don't use Netlify.
The horrible user experience of Netlify practically begged me to write a review. Their Claude AI agent sucked all of my usage credits in one prompt...ONE PROMPT! And didn't even generate the changes before disabling my site for one month with no warning and no means to retrieve my work. This site is completely useless! I went ahead and deleted my account after that, and wouldn't recommend Netlify to anyone.
I've deployed my portfolio site…
I've deployed my portfolio site (jmckean.ca) and a small business site (tradesadmin.ca) through Github to Netlify using the Astro javascript framework in VS Code. It's an amazingly efficient and seamless process once its set up. The free tier is very generous, as well.

I’ve had a frustrating experience with…
I’ve had a frustrating experience with netlify.com, especially regarding their credit system.
Credits are consumed extremely quickly — even on paid plans. Deployment-related usage would be understandable, but traffic usage burns through credits surprisingly fast, even with relatively low visitor numbers.
The biggest issue is what happens once the credits are exhausted: the entire website/project gets locked. Instead of showing the actual site, visitors see a black screen with billing-related information. For clients or end users of the project, this looks highly unprofessional and immediately damages trust.
A usage-based model itself is not the problem. The real issue is that the pricing becomes very unpredictable and expensive compared to competitors. There are other hosting providers with far more transparent, calculable, and affordable pricing structures.
Netlify has a good developer experience overall, but the current billing/credit model makes it difficult to recommend for serious client-facing projects.
