Read the fineprints they hide it !

Nirvana Europe does the hotel bookings for Ironman . The reason i am really unhappy with them is their website is deceptive , they hide the fine prints in one corner . They want users to make mistakes and buy non refundable bookings. Such narrow minded business strategy will get them nowhere in long run. Nowadays these kind of behaviour is seriously looked down upon , i work in a bank and we undergo serious trainings to make sure customers are made aware of the ramifications of any purchase so they can make informed choices , not hide a tidy fineprint in the corner of a webpage so that they can cheat customers. Also since they are a monopoly for ironman they are not interested to hear my complaints in email , they just bluntly said that there is a fine print . But be very careful to book hotels via iron man website as it was not all clear to me that the hotel was for 4 nights and the fact that the money paid was a non refundable deposit , i always thought it was for 1 night . But i believe this was done purposefully to get business so be careful dealing with them , they are just out to make money

Enjoyed to race IM 70,3 Rapperswill in Switzerland, I appreciated the service bike check, the Nirvana stand was very easy to find, friendly atmosphere and Mr Roy was very kind and ready to help me to get me into the Start Group. Medail graving was included and processed very quickly. Looking forward to race with you again!

On May 7th ELITE ATHLETE

On May 7th, I completed the Jesolo/Venice Half IronMan. This was an awesome experience. I was extremely thankful that I signed up for NIRVANA EUROPE. They treated me like an elite athlete. I will most certainly use this service again.

works like a charm!

Would've been five stars if the shuttlebus driver hadn't taken us on a longer drive than planned!
Nirvana itself delivered as promised. And the service was outstanding. Contact and questions are handled very quickly.

Nirvana made everything simple

Nirvana made my arrangements a simple one stop shop. Including to and from the airport, making the hotel reservations & handling my Spartan Race registration. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

When we arrived everything was extremely organized. Solid hotel in the perfect location plus really good value for money. Nirvana team thought of everything and super responsive. Would definitely book with them again.

Matt was amazing

Matt was amazing! My travel the the Sardegna IM was the worst debacle in 40 years of travel, took me three days and six cancelled flights to get there, but Matt & Co saved the day: flexible, supportive, proactive and consistent from start to finish over the 5 days getting there and staying there. Thank you Matt & Co!!!

It had been too long since my last long distance triathlon and to make the journey back I engaged Nirvana Europe to help with the logistics. From airport transfers to the hotel in the perfect spot within comfortable walking distance between the expo and transition I could not have asked for better. Bike set up and the drive around the bike course with Lynn were all first class. What I really appreciated was when Matt managed to swing an extra room at very very short notice to get my family out for race day. Nirvana Europe were exceptional. Thank you and I will be forever grateful for an amazing Ironman 70.3 experience.

Do not use this company.

Do not use this company.

Booked overland bike transfer for Marbs 70.2 in May and also Barca full in October. I had just bought a new Canyon Speedmax CFR which is not a cheap bike and thought the safest bet would be to use a specialised transfer company who would take care of the bike. Shortly after booking I received a questionnaire with one of the questions asking what type of axles I had IE quick release or thru axle. I replied it was thru axle and they confirmed they would make sure the van was equipped for this system. After emailing then at least half a dozen times to get a pick up time and date and location I eventually got a reply with about 4 days' notice. I run multiple businesses and had to re arrange appointments due to their lack of organisation or communication. Arrived at bike pick up point which was an hour's drive away to be told by the driver that they can't fix this type of axle to the van and the only option would be to bungee strap it to the inside of the van. Wasn’t happy with this but was left with no other option however this is where they really got me angry, the driver had absolutely no clue about bikes as he proceeded to wrap the bungee strap around the front spokes at which point I went off my head as he was pulling the strap so tight it would have bust the spokes without a doubt, he then proceeded to wrap it around another fragile part of the steering fairing again it would have bust it. He eventually got some blankets out and wrapped the bike in them and then strapped it to the van, however unknown to me it had been moved after I had left and the frame now has a big chip out of it which I unfortunately didn’t notice until some weeks later at which point I was told it was too late sorry. It’s a £13,000 bike that they treated like a Halfords cheap and cheerful. THEY ASSURED ME THAT THE VAN WOULD BE FULLY EQUIPPED TO DEAL WITH THRU AXLES BEFORE MY BOOKING FOR BARCELONA

This is where it gets worse from their customer service point of view. Fast forward to early September and I emailed them to make sure that the vans would have the proper fixings to be told that they are not changing them and that most bikes can still use quick release on a thru axle system, that is just plain lies. I googled the fixings and they are about £10 on amazon and take around 3 minutes to change and I offered to buy my own and change them on the day of pick up but no they would not accept that. I asked if they don’t have the proper fixings then could I still use their service and pack my bike in a bike bag but again no they said there is no room on the van for bags/boxes and they only option would be to refund my money. They were NEVER going to inform me that the fixings were not suitable even after my experience previously, they would have let me turn up on the day with the same outcome as above.

I had no option but to go and buy a new bike bag as the Speedmax won't fit in my current box and keep my fingers crossed that I could get it booked on the plane, which fortunately it did.

I also used them back in 2017 to book accommodation for Staffordshire 70.3. The hotel was so bad that I didn’t go back for the second night and decided to just do the 5 hour drive home straight after the race. I doubt they even visit the hotels they use otherwise they would never have booked it.

I would avoid this company at all costs.

Good package ruined by the length of travel

I travelled and stayed as part of the great north run package a couple of weeks ago now, I have tried emailing and direct messaging the company first to share my experience but have had no response and would like someone to be aware of our experience to enable it to be improved for future customers.

The whole idea of booking for travel and accommodation through one central place was fantastic and made it less stressful in the lead up, all the staff we spoke to prior to the event or had contact with on the day were very friendly. The accommodation was great for what we needed and the option to drop off baggage which would be on the coach later in the day was fantastic. When it came to actually travelling there were a few areas I think could of been improved.

The travel time from Birmingham to Newcastle was around 7.30 hours, including the break, which could of been done in 3:30 - 4 hours ordinarily. This was due to the stops that we made along the way, I completely understand this as part of the package however this wasn’t made explicit at the time of the booking or in the itinerary sent out and therefore left everyone feeling really disappointed when we found out what was happening, as many people had made arrangements for the evening or further travel for the following evening to get home which we realised would not be viable. I must add this wasn’t due to traffic, just the stops and the fact we had to go into city centres several times for this, often for just one or two people and sometimes felt like we were doubling back on ourselves. In addition to this, it was challenging to get consistent information from our driver in order to make plans, initially he said we would be arriving back at 2:30 in the morning and then later changed this to 11pm, therefore people that had train tickets to get home or further transport were left in limbo, which created unnecessary stress, causing some people to make other arrangements to get home altogether, at great expense. Although I do very much understand it is challenging to say definite timings as you never know with traffic i do feel it would of been possible to give a more realistic window of time, which would of reduced stress considerably. Additionally if these times were sent out in the itinerary or shared the day before departure even, if times are not known when writing the itinerary, it would enable people to know what was happening and ensure people could make plans without being disappointed on the day. Because of the time getting into Newcastle being that much later than everyone anticipated, the collection area for numbers had closed which could of been awful for some users if they were reliant on this.

I just felt it was important to pass on this information as many of the people on our coach expressed that they wouldn’t use the service again due to the set up and I felt it would be great if Nirvana would be able to improve their service for future customers, and I must say not being able to contact them directly to share this has been frustrating, as I would never write a negative review ordinarily.

Amazing company

Used these guys for a cheaper alternative to the extortionate hotel prices for the great north run. Really couldn't fault them. The campsite was spot on with great facilities. Also in a awesome location for the finish.
The whole thing was very well organised, with helpful staff and excellent transfer to the start line £70 all in perfect!

Very friendly and helpful team

Bruce and the team we’re very helpful and friendly right from the start. I arrived at Souter lighthouse early but it was no issue directing me where to pitch and even offering to help pitch the tent or carry items from the car. The site was kept very secure and clean and the facilities were adequate for one night camping.

Great North Run 2022 - Great service

Stayed at the student accommodation organised by Nirvana for the Great North Run. Both accommodation and transfer back to Newcastle were very well organised. Took away the worries associated with how do I get back from South Shields when 60,000 people want to do the same!
