I paid for checked in luggage instead of hand luggage and they charged me at the gate extra 450 kr to take it to the plane although it was already paid for it. The check in lady did not care at all. So, in total I paid for a handluggage 800 kr . This is a rip off . When I called customer service they did not want to make the reimbursement . I would definitely stick with SAS from now on. They are like Ryanair but much more expensive! Such a horrible airline.

Paid for baggage based on “guesswork”
My experience with Norwegian Air Shuttle was extremely disappointing.
At Stockholm Arlanda Airport I was forced to pay for allegedly oversized hand baggage under very questionable circumstances. The staff member refused to use a baggage sizer and instead claimed “by eye” that my soft backpack was too large - something I have never encountered in years of flying with multiple airlines.
After paying, I received a receipt that contained incorrect information: it listed the charge for a completely different flight segment. This alone raises serious concerns about how these charges are handled. I contacted customer support expecting at least a proper investigation. Instead, I received a generic copy-paste response explaining their baggage policy - completely ignoring the incorrect billing and the actual issue raised. Very disappointing experience overall. I will think twice before flying with Norwegian again.

The foolish check in staff put the incorrect tag on my suitcase and lost my luggage, customer support is non existent!! I gave up trying to get a response as clothes are replaceable but will never fly with this company again
Incompetence
Incompetence, you should be able to navigate through storms in 2026 , its like superficial nonsense over and over , you have to be on time, you have to order people who dont know how to behave to leave the plane , and its way too expensive even for an airline .
Flight delayed
Our 5 hour trip was delayed by one hour while we were sitting in the airplane. I asked for a glass of water, but that was denied. I could just buy their 3,5 Euro bottle of water.
Fraud and illegal activity (documented)
On skiing trip I booked transport of snowboard. Two days before departure I checked my ticket in their app - no extra luggage was registered and I had not received a receipt of purchase. I booked (again!) and after that it appeared I had booked TWO pieces of snowboard!
I contacted "customer service" to correct the error but they refused - I told them about the app, and I haven't received the mandatory-by-law receipt. They didn't care. I then escalated and was today 31th March, notified of the same thing.
To this day I have not received any receipts for my purchases for extra luggage which they are obligated to issue by law.
I believe that Norwegian are knowingly deceiving customers into buying things twice (which is fraud).
I do not understand the low rating
I do not understand the low rating. I have only had positive experiences with them. And I must have been flying Norwegian at least 10 times. Now again, yesterday back from Hurghada, flight on time, comfortable too. The food was awful, as expected. Still it seems that people only write reviews when they are angry. To balance this, I give it full 5 stars.
Lots of delays and poor customer service
If your flight is delayed (which they most of the time are) and you miss a connection, don’t expect help from Norwegian Air Shuttle.
Their staff will tell you Norwegian service center will contact you (which they don't) otherwise you go to the customer service (outside of the airport), only for you to waste valuable time at the airport discovering that no help is actually coming. This is information they could easily provide when you ask them on the plane—or even before boarding.
Not to mention the "I don't really care-face" of the customer service agent at the airport service center.

They refuse to take accountability because that would mean being held responsible for their actions. Terrible and rude staff. Made a dozen people lose their flight and had to spend an extra 500 because of their negligence
I will make it my life mission to ensure everyone in my life and anyone who will listen knows NEVER to book with them. Had you been more professional I would have just taken the loss but your rude behavior has ignited some sort of fire in me that will be dealt with 🙂
They can deny boarding with no explanation
Denied boarding because of the ground staff refusing to load the pet crate on board. No explanation, violation of passenger rights (EU261/2004) refusing any kind of written confirmation, not even reasonable explanation. Ground staff just refused 10 min prior to boarding. The crate was thoroughly expected and approved by check-in and security, as usually. Not possible to get any answers by customer care office, just ruined our plans that day, even though I was a frequent flyer with same pet and same pet crate (not any more after this accident).
Two hours delay on short-haul flight
Nearly two hours delay on Norwegian flight from Stavanger to Manchester.
Result I got home at 00:30 instead of 22:15, have had much less sleep than I need and feel terrible today, and not able to offer my employer my best.
I will never use Norwegian again. Aside from my irritation about the delay I get the distinct impression that this company just don't care......
