Avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs.
Worst customer service we have ever experienced.
Don't bother using actual reads when berating bills.
Have taken thousands of pounds from our business account via DD they were not entitled too and most recently have seen fit to generate a bill for £33,000 even though our business is closed and they have correct meter readings showing no usage and they are not trying to resolve!
Cancelling the 4 contracts we have them the minute they come to an end.

Worst electricity supplier ever

Worst electricity supplier ever, the rates are unbelievably high. I was asked to pay around 500 pounds for 3 months when I live in a one bedroom apartment.

Never Again

Had a HUGE final bill, totally unacceptable. Spent over an hour (twice) trying to get through to somebody, first time call was cut off, second time I was hung up on. No response to any online messages. Had a previous terrible experience too but thought I'd give them a second chance. Won't be back.

Rip off energy provider with rude customer services

NPower sent me a letter demanding to charge double the monthly electricity fee. I inquired with NPower but their customer service staff was extremely unhelpful and rude over the phone, possibly due to the fact that E.ON is taking them over.
I then decided to switch from NPower to Octopus but NPower keeps blocking the transfer citing it is my fault for not providing sufficient evidence to have the transfer completed which is completely false and a despicable action to stall the transfer away from them.

Please avoid them at all cost.

NPower advise customers to break the law !!!!!!

I gave Npower one star for answering the phone. I have a property where after the tenants moved out I discovered the prepayment gas meter was broken and needed replacement. Npower refused to replace it saying they are being taken over by EON and its now company policy not to replace meters. They told me that the new tenants must move in and then ring them up and they will fit a new meter. I pointed out that this is completely illegal as its a breach of gas safety regulations to move someone in without a valid gas certificate, and its not possible to get that without a gas supply ! Unbelievable.

Don't expect a switch to go smoothly if you have multiple meters / MPANS.

I have been attempting to switch supplier since June 2020. I have a complex metering installation (2 MPANs) which males things tricky. The law requires that both MPANs are switched to the new supplier at the same time. That is no problem but NPOWERs admin systems require that the request is made for both MPANS in the same physical order. They claim that it is illegal to do otherwise but I have since learned that is not the case. 6 months on and I decide to simplify the supply to a single MPAN to facilitate the move. Even more fun and games when the electrician (independent) turns up to move move over the supply outlets prior to the removal of one meter by NPOWER. A technical issue arose taking NPOWER over 3 months to resolve. So, can I switch now? No, because it can take upto 90 days to record the engineering changes made on the national database used by all suppliers to reflect a supply status.

In every case a promised call back has not been forthcoming, deadlines missed and customer service absent. I have to say the people handling the calls / chats are generally helpful but the supporting admin is dreadful.

To cap it all I have now received letters congratulating me on a my recent house move and introducing me to a new tariff ad a new customer. I haven't moved house, and I've had an account with NPOWER for over 13 years.

Dreadful outfit with shameful customer service performance.

Eon is expensive so expensive that you just want to avoid both companies. Npower is just selling my dad details to other company that is against Data Proctection Act . 😡🤬

Scam company sending fraudulent bills to strangers

Not a customer of this company but after 3 years of living in a property and paying to another supplier, I got a £1000 bill addressed to the occupier and payable within 5 days. I called them, convinced it's a scam but no, they claim they've been supplying energy to my address! Beats me how they're allowed to carry on in a lawful country, should be shut by the regulators.

Sold out from under our feet

Sold to E-On. NPower have sold their business lock, stock and barrel to E-On. They have sold their customers, like us, as if our account with them is "for sale", and as if we are their slaves who have to submit to being purchased by a new owner. BAH!

And what is going to happen to our contract? They have just sent us notice of a price hike of 11.4% which E-On will inherit. BAH!

What's the current rate of Inflation in UK? The UK Consumer Prices Index rose 0.9% in the 12 months to January 2021. That's a 12.67-fold increase! BAH!!!

So much for years and years of customer loyalty. None of it is worth a fig!

If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would, do not use these, dreadful company, the charges are extortionate and when they emailed me to say direct debit was going to be increased again, I had enough and decided to shop around, now got my gas and electric for less than half the price of Npower, they still owe me a refund which has not been received, loads of excuses including snow and blaming Royal Mail, during my time with them I even reported them to the energy Ombudsman for harassment, constant harassment as I wouldn't let them fit a smart meter, constant text messages with appointments that I hadn't asked for stating if I was not available on the day then I would get charged a fee!! Ombusdman intervened and harassment ceased, Unbelievable, sort it out, get my refund back asap

Npower Insist Deceased Person Has To Cancel

Im writing this and doing so without screaming and swearing is difficult. This company is not fit for perpose and the sooner somethings done about them the better. I cant wait until the contract end this year.

Its about time the Ombudsman and the Government had a look and investigated this sham of a company.
We as a charity have been trying to terminate the contract for over 18 months to switch to another supplier. They have objected at every turn, we have spoken to several managers and have numerous complaints documented. Customer service personell by the score and stil now they are objecting to the charity switching suppliers. The reason they are giving now is that the person that setup the account has to be the person to terminiate it. This person passed away in 2017. Npower have had no less than four death certificates but they are still insisting the named person is the only person that can terminate the account. The account is a no penalty should be able to switch at any time but they wont release the meter codes for another company to switch over to.
This now is unfair on the deceased family and very upsetting, it is tantamount to harressment with all their bluster. They constantly use GDPR to hide behind and ask for things and codes they already have. The charity is at the moment considering closing the premises due to this companies non compliance as it seems it the only way to get out from under then.
Shocking company, even worse customer service and if at all possible managers that dont have a clue.

What a disgrace this company is.

What a disgrace this company is.Having lost my husband Dec 2019 I passed information over to npower read the meters and got a refund. The house has been empty since his death. Letters started to arrive for hundreds of pounds owing.we thought nothing of it as estate was all settled. I recently had phone call from solicitors about the debt and they wanted to know all about his bank details. I explained the situation and had meters read last week. I then explained everything to npower about the bill as the only thing using electric was two night lights. Response was as long as there is power running through the house it would have to paid. I asked how I could stop the power and was told I would have to remove the meters and if I did that The house couldn’t be sold and I would have to reinstate at my own Cost . The couple who have nearly completed sale.I cannot change to another utility company while owing npower. I asked why are you bombarding the property with letters to my dead husband All this to contend with while grieving. Absolutely disgrace with no compassion whatsoever. If I could score them less than zero I would.
