We were given a Dodge Durango in Miami on June 13, instead of “full size” SUV we booked and paid for. It claimed it would be a Ford Expedition or Jeep Wagoneer or similar. They had no other choice f... See more

I would give it less if I were allowed to. Rented the compact car via Priceline. Paid for everything upfront. Got to Nashville, 12 Sept 2026, took shuttle to a sketchy location. Okay I can deal with that. Got there, no compact car. Okay Nissan Sentra, charges me a $500 for a deposit. Then they told me that they open at 8 am, I had to drop off my car at 530. Had to get an Uber to get back to the airport. That didn’t even bother me. Took car down the highway and the steering was so bad at 65 mph that I had to drop to 50 to get to Clarksville . On the drop off, I did everything they requested, pictures, mileage, keys, gas filled. Left a message via email about the not so smooth running of the car. Did not get a response at all. Got my deposit back in about 4 days. Then got a call asking how the service was. I explained everything, did not ask for a refund, just a simple check the car before you send it back out, it runs terrible. Now 11 days after turn in I look at my cc statement and there is $150 charged by them to vacuum the car🤨. She claimed the employee found dog hair. I was nowhere with a dog. She claims I should have seen that in terms and conditions. If I would have had a dog in the car I would have vacuumed it myself for 4 bucks. Called my card company to fight charges. I was told by customer there have been a lot of claims against this company for these kinds of charges. DONT DO IT!! NEVER AGAIN. I will stick with Budget or Dollar from now on!
Goog car and perfect service

Nu gave me an Expedia rate of $151 for a 11 day rental off site at the Tampa airport. When I arrived at the counter I gave them a copy of my. MAPRE car rental insurance policy. They said they only accepted GEICO or State Farm and I would need to buy their insurance at $30 a day. Then they said unless I bought their toll pass for $10 a day I would be charged $35 per toll I went through. By this time they had gotten the base rental fee up to almost $600 and they weren’t done. I said no thx and walked out. There were 2 other families outside waiting for Ubers to take them elsewhere. I then booked a rental for $221 on Budget. When I got to Budget there were no up charges. My insurance was fine and they informed me that I need not buy a toll pass in advance. If I went through any tolls the cost would be $6 for that day only. Stay as far away from NU as you can.
AVOID THIS COMPANY. In my experience, this company operates like a scam and abuses the insurance process.
In August, I returned to Bulgaria for a holiday and booked a car through EconomyBookings with full insurance. The insurance was provided through EconomyBookings, not directly through the rental company.
When I landed and went to collect the car, I was shocked. They gave me a car that was around 20 years old, had approximately 250,000 km on it, was covered in scratches on the outside, had broken parts inside the interior, and made a strange noise while running. I genuinely could not believe what they were giving me.
I have rented cars many times from different companies and in different countries, and they have always been relatively new — usually only a few years old. This car was so old and in such poor condition that I even wondered whether it would leave me stranded somewhere on the road.
When I collected the car, I took many photos and videos showing its condition.
My holiday was for two weeks. During almost the entire time, the car was parked in a private, enclosed parking area in front of my parents’ house. When I was at the seaside, I stayed in a complex where I had my own private parking space with no other cars parked next to me.
Before returning the car, I even had it fully washed so that I could return it in immaculate condition.
At first, a young employee from the company handled the paperwork and everything appeared to be fine. Then, at the end, he called the owner/boss of the company. He went to inspect the car and suddenly started claiming that there were scratches on it.
I immediately showed him the photos I had taken when I collected the car. The photos clearly showed that these scratches were already there when the car was given to me.
Despite this, he started giving ridiculous explanations, claiming that what could be seen in my photos was not actually scratches but simply the way the sunlight was reflecting in the pictures. This made absolutely no sense. The marks were clearly already present when I collected the vehicle.
We started arguing about it, and he refused to return my deposit. I did not have enough time to continue arguing because my flight was approaching.
What was particularly suspicious was that he then told me not to worry because I had full insurance through EconomyBookings and that EconomyBookings would reimburse me. He even showed me where to go on the EconomyBookings website to make the insurance claim.
They charged me almost €1,400.
The ridiculous part is that, in my opinion, the entire car was barely worth that amount. They claimed there were four scratches, even though those scratches were already there before I rented the car. The vehicle already had dozens of scratches all over it — probably 50 or more.
The fact that the owner immediately knew exactly how I should claim the money back through EconomyBookings made the whole situation feel like a well-practised scheme rather than an accidental disagreement over damage.
Afterwards, I started reading reviews from other customers and found reports describing very similar experiences and the same type of situation.
Companies operating in this way should be investigated and serious action should be taken.
I am writing this review to warn other people who may be considering renting a car from them.
AVOID THIS COMPANY.
Based on my experience, I would never rent from them again. I believe their business model relies on charging customers for alleged damage to already old and heavily damaged vehicles and then directing customers to recover the money through third-party insurance.
Be extremely careful if you decide to rent from them. Photograph and video absolutely every part of the vehicle before driving away.
For me, this was one of the worst car-rental experiences I have ever had.
Nu car rental were an amazing car rental place, they were on time for car delivery and the instructions were very clear and helpful.
I highly recommend at Casablanca international airport.

I had a minor accident where I was rear-ended. The man that hit me had State Farm Insurance. Nu Car Rentals charged my credit card $2000 back on July 21, 2026 and said that I would get that money back when the car was fixed. The car was fixed within two weeks. It has been two months now, and they have not returned my $2000. They claim they can not return my money until State Farm insurance pays them for the damage. I do not think they care whether State Farm pays them or not....and they certainly don't care if I get my money back any time soon. I would never, never deal with them again.
Service nickel, personnel sympathique, je recommande

September 17th 2026...If I could give 0 stars, that is what they would get. I have rented with them before and had no problems. This time around, the rude lady agent at the counter was extremely manipulative telling us that we had to pay for the extra insurance, that our own car insurance and credit card would not cover it. I told her several times that I didn't want their insurance. She said that they are not like other car rental places. She wouldn't listen to anything I was trying to tell her.
It is funny that my previous experience with NU in SLC (2 years ago) had absolutely no problems, not even telling me that I had to have their insurance. However this time the agent was demanding.
Dear agent, If you really hate your job that bad and have absolutely no customer service skills, maybe you should be looking elsewhere.
We cancelled our reservation and our plans that we were looking forward to. Thanks NU in SLC for ruining this for us
NU will never be a choice of ours again.

Great service friendly . Mouhamed was the nicest guy. Recommend this company
The Counter representatives were very helpful. Our Key fob battery went out, and we purchased a new one, NU said that we didn't have to fill up the gas tank full, that they would accept it at quarter full.
They don't have a shuttle to take you back to the airport that runs 24/7. We had an early flight and had to get a Lyft. That was disappointing, we had to pay extra for a ride when they should accommodate their customers with a ride to and from the airport. Their rental car business is a bit away from the airport.
