Longtime Customer of Orbitz

I've been using Orbitz for years to book my business travel. I'm Platinum status. Recently, I had a first that is quite troubling. I booked 2 nights in Nashville but canceled more than a month earlier than the cancelation window closed. My refund was $7 less than the original charge. This causes problems when I fill out my expense report. So, needless to say, I'm not a happy customer at the moment. Chatted twice now to get an itemized receipt to explain who got the $7, but my substantial time chatting has not yielded any results.

Do not work for this company

Do not work for this company. They hire people to write fake reviews for other places. You put money in through a staged tier to get commissions back. Each tier goes up and up with the promise of commissions. If you do not make the next tier they keep your money and you are out. I have never fallen for something like this, but my sister a mother, someone who has not worked in a long time put her money in because they made her am offer she couldn't refuse before rent was due. Now she is out that money because she couldn't borrow enough to get the next tier. This company takes advantage and preys on the desperate financial needs of others. SHAME ON YOU!

Worst customer service

Worst customer service. They booked my wife on a Qatar flight and when she visited the airport they told that the airline was changed and she needs to wait for 8 Hours at the airport. This was not communicated via an email nor txt. After reaching the destination, the app didn't show the return journey tickets. They lost the booking for the return journey. Calling the customer service takes 30 minutes to reach a person. Once I reached out they said we are not aware of it that the airline was changed. If they don't know, not sure - who booked her into another airline? And mentioned that the airline mentioned no show, hence they cancelled the return journey..

Absolutely awful - stay away at all costs!

Absolutely awful. They charged me extra for the option to "select seat" on a JetBlue site and then it turns out JetBlue did not save the seat at all. They then claimed seat selection was never guaranteed in the first place and refused to refund the flight. Wasted over an hour with customer service on this.

I do not even want to give them the last star, they are the worst. Do not book airline tickets through Orbitz or Expedia. Particularly from orbitz, there was a person named Bob who asked for more money. Prior to calling orbitz customer service, please ensure that the number is not a fraud number. I consider Orbitz to be a thief. Avoid using Orbitz at all costs. It is my intention to visit every single review website to make sure that my opinion is heard

They don't honor their "rewards"…

They don't honor their "rewards" tiers... when you get to platinum you are supposed to get a voucher for TSA pre-check... but its been over a month and every time i contact them (6 times now) they say "oh I'm so sorry I have elevated your ticket, somebody will contact you in 72 hours" and of course nobody ever does...

Don't book sky air through z

Booked on sky airline Peru through Orbitz. Sky was never able to find my reservation using confirmation code I got from orbitz, or the itinerary number from orbitz. Concerned I contacted both orbits and sky airlines. Sky said Orbitz was my travel agent and I had to communicate with them. Orbitz promise they would send me a check-in link. They did not. Spent 25 minutes on the phone with orbitz day before my flight to be told that I couldn't check in until I got to the airport. First time I've driven to an airport for any flight, domestic or international where I couldn't check in. Do not book sky air through Orbitz.

SCAM! Orbitz Crossway Motel Hialeah.

Booked 2 nights at Crossway Motel in Hialeah FL. When I got there it was called Casanova Boutique Motel, with same address. Front desk said they don't do reservations. Lady at the front desk said she recalls a family from another country which made reservations there for a week, via Orbitz, only to find out that it was a scam a swindel. Orbitz File Claim took me to another website csaclaims.com with never-ending fill-out forms about my address and personal info; I had to close the useless pages that got me nowhere. Orbitz customer service redirected me to VRBO who said to contact the hotel property manager for a refund. The motel property manager telephone goes to a voice answering machine only. Started dispute with my credit card which takes 90 days with no guarantee of a refund. Do not use Orbitz! It is full of scams! Call the hotel directly.

Outright liars

I purchase a refundable ticket for a Delta flight and had to cancel. Orbitz customer service tell me I was only entitled to a travel credit which was a lie because I called Delta and resolved it with no problem. The orbit trap even insisted that he checked the Delta policy . Orbitz which is quick to take your money and does not want to give it back and even uses deception to try and keep it.

I cannot tell you how many times I had to call them. They promised to call me back within 72 hours. They never do. They added an extra flight that I did NOT request.
They were supposed to contact the hotel for me and call me back. I had to call the hotel myself l and they said they never contacted them.
Every representative with tell you something different....
You have to Beg for a Supervisor even though they tell you they "they are only going to tell you the same thing."
I absolutely agree with our reviews.
They promise rewards if you purchase insurance and other things and they NEVER DELIVER. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

BAIT AND SWITCH

BAIT AND SWITCH - they promise you rewards when you book through their website, however they do not honor it. After booking hotel and not seeing rewards I contacted customer service and received conflicting answers - one rep said rewards post 35 days after completion and when I followed up again due to "nothing pending" I was then told I was not eligible.
Great work guys on ripping people off.

I experienced a series of distressing issues with Orbitz. When I called their number to confirm something their agent erroneously canceled my ticket without my consent and failed to rebook it, forcing me to purchase a new ticket at additional expense. Moreover, my refund for the inadvertently canceled return flight has not been processed. This incident raises serious concerns about the company’s business practices, and I am determined to expose these questionable actions publicly. If necessary, I will pursue legal avenues, potentially involving higher judicial review, to hold Orbitz for what I believe to be fraudulent behavior.

Promised, but did not refund my ticket cost

Promised, in writing, a full refund for my ticket within 8-10 business days. It's been nearly 20 as of today. I've sent three emails....no response. Book directly with the airline. Try to avoid "brokers" like Orbitz. These are black boxes you want to avoid. I ended up going to my CC company to determine if I had been refunded, and I had, but was not notified by Orbitz. wth? Totally sloppy. I'll never go through Orbitz again.

I am absolutely appalled by the complete lack of support from both American Airlines and Orbitz. My 76-year-old father, who has a language barrier, was left completely in the dark about a 40-hour flight delay. The airline kept changing the delay time—from 9 hours to 16 hours, to 25 hours, and finally to 40 hours—while he was already at the airport. He had no idea what was happening and was essentially stranded.

The first email from American Airlines arrived at 3 A.M., just 6 hours before departure, stating a 9-hour delay. Then, it changed to 16 hours. I spent hours contacting 7 different Orbitz agents, where I booked the flight, but none of them were helpful. One agent suggested changing my father’s flight to the next day, but when I was in the middle of discussing this, my father called. I had to hang up to speak with him and asked the agent to call me back—but she refused, saying she couldn’t make outgoing calls. She gave me a case number, but when I followed up, no one took me seriously. Despite repeatedly giving them the case number and asking for follow-up, no one cared to help or even properly listen. They didn’t allow me to explain the situation from start to finish, talking over me as if I wasn’t there.

I reached out to Orbitz for assistance, as I paid them to book the flight, but I received no meaningful help. Every agent just told me to contact the airline directly. Only one agent offered to change the flight date, but honestly, why am I paying Orbitz if I can't get proper help when things go wrong?

By the time my father needed to check in, the delay was still listed as 16 hours, and I still had no answers. I had to tell him to wait at the airport, rest, and hope someone would help him with. As time passed, the delay kept increasing—first to 25 hours, then to 40 hours.

I paid almost double for a shorter flight, but now my father’s total travel time will exceed 60 hours. The lack of communication and complete disregard for my elderly father’s needs is beyond frustrating. This whole experience has been a nightmare, and I expect far better service from any airline or booking platform, especially when it comes to assisting elderly passengers.

A virtual agent of orbitz made my reservation to non refundable without asking me. Now, I can not change it to my first reservation. And they never help me except saying I am sorry I understand you. My reservation is spoiled. I have been chatting to many virtual agents and all are the same.
