I had a really disappointing experience…

I had a really disappointing experience today at Ørsted Outdoor Lake and Golf in Denmark.

When I arrived, the person selling tickets didn’t seem to have a clear understanding of how the system works. Because of that, I ended up paying for both an entrance ticket and a fishing ticket. About an hour later, another staff member came to check tickets and informed us that we actually only needed to pay for one ticket since we were there to fish. This kind of miscommunication right from the start was frustrating and unprofessional.

It didn’t stop there. The same staff member then told us that we couldn’t stay for the whole day because it’s a private place and not meant for “camping,” even though we were just spending time fishing and relaxing. She also said we had to leave once the 3-hour fishing ticket expired. At least she refunded two tickets, but the situation shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

We had brought a small BBQ and were playing some light music at a reasonable volume, just trying to enjoy the day. However, she came back again and told us to stop the music immediately. After that, she kept coming back and interrupting us, which made it impossible to relax.

Overall, what should have been a peaceful and enjoyable fishing trip turned into a stressful experience due to poor communication, inconsistent rules, and constant interruptions from staff. Very disappointing.

Unfortunately

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences we’ve had, especially considering the price we paid (almost 1000 DKK).
The issue is not just one thing, but the overall organization, the way guests are treated, and the lack of clear information before arrival.
First of all, the staff was extremely unprofessional and unpleasant. At one point, they spent around 10 minutes at our spot checking wristbands and asking for receipts, which was completely unnecessary and ruined the atmosphere. People who wanted to fish were unable to do so properly because their time was being wasted. This kind of control shows poor organization and creates a feeling of distrust toward guests who have already paid.
Another major issue is that the rules are not clearly communicated in advance. We played some music and were told we had to turn it off completely, with no option to simply lower the volume. If music is not allowed, this should be clearly stated before entry and payment—not after guests have already arrived. Otherwise, people come with one expectation and then face unexpected restrictions that directly affect their experience.
Hygiene and facilities are also far below what the price would suggest. For such a large number of visitors, there was only one functioning toilet, which is simply unacceptable. Regardless of cleaning, it cannot remain usable with that level of traffic. The fire area was dirty and unusable, and the tables were clearly not properly maintained.
It is important to mention that the lake itself is beautiful, but that alone is not enough to justify the price or compensate for poor management. Guests are not paying just for the view, but for the overall experience—and that is where this place fails significantly.
This is not a matter of personal opinion, but clear and objective issues: lack of transparent rules, poor organization, insufficient basic facilities, and unprofessional staff behavior.
Until these problems are properly addressed, this place cannot justify the price they charge, and I would not recommend it.
