Stayed at St. Osyth Beach Holiday site, near Clacton, Essex. Grandchildren had a great time, and the Park felt, generally, safe and accommodating. The Gold Caravans were well appointed, and there was... See more

Our holiday with two adults and four…
Our holiday with two adults and four children was highly recommended. The only drawback was the relatively high price of drinks and food. Otherwise, the location was excellent, the swimming pool was good, beach access was easy, and the caravans were immaculate. Staff where kind approachable and friendly.
Site and caravan were very nice
The caravan was very clean and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and the site dog friendly.
Polperro Park
Not the best experience here. Bed bugs in the caravan and had to go home early as couldn’t be moved in case we took said bugs with us to another van! Ruined our holiday.
Staff dealt with us well at the park but mentioned that this had never happened before. . . I have since read a review on here from last summer from the same park, same problem.
We won’t be returning and won’t be using Park Holidays elsewhere as I now feel that their cleaning processes need to be seriously reviewed.
Terrible experience and deceptive promises -avoid Golden sands!
Title: Terrible experience and deceptive promises – Avoid Golden Sands!
I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Park Holidays (Golden Sands). We booked two caravans for the dates 10/08 to 14/08 at £516 each. When booking, we were explicitly told that by paying an extra £15 per caravan for cancellation protection, we would receive a full refund of the £516 if we had to cancel, minus the £15 fee.
Due to a sudden medical emergency with one of our party members, we were unable to travel and called to cancel. They instructed us to email, and after three days of anxiety and waiting, they finally responded. Contrary to what was promised, they deducted £15 plus an additional £40 administration fee per caravan—taking £110 in total—and only refunded £476 per caravan.
Key Issues:
Customer Service: Booking is quick and smooth, but the moment you need to cancel, they make the process stressful, delay their response, and charge unexpected fees.
Lack of Basic Amenities: On top of charging high rates, you are expected to bring your own basic necessities such as toilet paper, bin bags, hand wash, and washing-up liquid.
I am completely unsatisfied with this unfair treatment and predatory practice. I strongly advise others to avoid this holiday park.
Fantastic week stay Glendale
Fantastic week stay Glendale, the staff in all facilities where great really welcoming. The kids entertainer was especially great with kids and was really personable and fun. They site was a small one but we loved that went in first week of holidays and the site held its number really well. Carvan was equally great in very good condition for a pet friendly one. I would higly recommend a stay here for a family.
The difference to 2 supposedly both gold caravans
So we booked a lovely caravan at Park Resorts in Pakefield that was actually wheel chair friendly.Beautiful spacious caravan.Lovely clean park but only 2 bin areas as self catering. We decided to book for the following weekend as really enjoyed our stay.Rachel who we dealt with promised she would put us near all the amenities as I have been struggling with a lot of pain the last few months. We got there knowing we were slightly further away & they said they couldn’t move us.but she had promised on booking that she would get us nearer to all the amenities obviously just to get the booking filled in my option. When we got in the caravan, which I believe it to be private, paying for a gold caravan.it was very disappointing indeed.it had minimal plug sockets not updated and only brought 1 apple plug with me.It only had an under counter fridge which it states for golf fridge/freezer so didn’t have enough room to put our frozen bits we had just bought as the freezer section is so small and I had to sit on a duvet with a pillow behind my back as it was such a hard seating area and very uncomfortable as I have been struggling with my pain recently.Almost went home not gonna lie.The only positive which I did enjoy was the sea view, but clearly the only thing they were interested in was filling the booking not on the actual customer which was such a shame as spoilt the previous weekend and I’m sorry I did not class the caravan we have just stayed in to be a gold in any respect very very disappointed with this booking.I have now booked a holiday with park dean instead as we paid a lot of money more than the previous stay and got a 4 bedroom lodge with hot tub for just a small amount more as was offered 25% off.On this stay at Park Resorts we got 15% off on a second stay for a big difference to the last gold caravan which was wonderful. Please listen to your guests as I’m not sure about using Park again.I will see how I get on with Park Dean in September.
Lovely location at Carlton Meres
Lovely location at Carlton Meres. Lodge spacious, clean and well equipped. Friendly, helpful staff. Particularly out of hours when I left my bag behind after dropping off key! Quickly came to my rescue. So grateful, thank you.
Excellent on all counts
Excellent on all counts, reception, caravan, location,on site cafe, the site is immaculately maintained and very dog friendly. A peaceful and relaxed experience away from main roads, close to a tidal lake, sand dunes and an all year round dog friendly beach all set in a picturesque cove.
Safe bathing, woodland and coastal walks, what's not to like.
Our thanks to all the Park Holidays team and we hope to see you all again soon.
We have been to Carlton Meres a few…
We have been to Carlton Meres a few times now and every time it's been a lovely experience. The reception team are lovely, especially Lisa, the bar staff are great, Chloe, Milan and Veronica, and the entertainment team this year are the best, especially Bryany. The caravan we stayed in was lovely. A great time was had by all and we will be returning
Excellent Stay as always
Excellent Stay as always, Helpful staff and good onsite amenities, pitches have plenty of space and onsite showers/toilets are always clean. We used to have a seasonal pitch on this site and only gave it up as we didn't use it enough, so now we just leave the caravan in the onsite storage, make a call and its on pitch.
Perfect base for visiting the area
Stayed for 3 nights, great accommodation which was clean, tidy and quiet. Free parking beside the unit, with overflow parking a couple of minutes away.
Close to the Tarka Trail, Braunton & Barnstaple. An ideal location for visiting the area and having a great self-catering option rather than using a hotel.
Friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Always nice to be welcomed by a smile :) thank you.
Highly recommended; we will definitely be returning.

From arriving to departure every thing was good.

Staff where all lovely. Will definitely return
Holiday in LossiemouthThis is the second time we have stayed…
This is the second time we have stayed in a Premium Lodge at Lossiemouth East Beach site and would recommend it. The lodge was spacious and clean, and well equipped although a chopping board would have been a good idea but with a sea view it was perfect. A bit breezy to sit out on decking but no one can control the weather. It is also within walking of restaurants and ice cream shops along the front and the beautiful beach. The staff in reception were friendly and helpful. We'll be back again.
I booked a holiday to view caravans and…
I booked a holiday to view caravans and the park before deciding whether to purchase one, 3 days before I was due to go my son broke his leg and I was unable to leave him in hospital to go on holiday, I emailed the park to see if I could change the dates but unfortunately couldn’t. The booking centre never informed the park, and the park didn’t ring until Wednesday to see why we hadn’t checked in. The lady on the desk who rang said she’d get back to me later that day after she’d spoken to someone higher up, I never received a call back or an email. I won’t be looking to rebook as if they can’t contact anyone after they say they will what hope have we got if we purchase one? Customer service is absolutely diabolical.
We had a power cut 8pm told nothing…
We had a power cut 8pm told nothing they could do and they were full so couldn’t move us. We do our own investigation and found the lamp was shorting the whole caravan, but we had had a few drinks so couldn’t drive to leave and was told someone would be out to sort it the next day well nobody came we waited in for most of the day without a tv also lol as the Ariel was dodgy. We left Sunday at noon cos we had enough but the area was lovely, we did email after the holiday explaining our experience but never got a reply.
We booked a pitch for our tourer
We booked a pitch for our tourer, the site was clean and tidy, the staff were exceptional and the food in the clubhouse was lovely, we loved the fact that we were so close to the beach and took full advantage
We had a very disappointing experience…
We had a very disappointing experience at this holiday park and would not recommend it.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that guests who own caravans are treated as a priority, while visitors are treated differently. We felt unwelcome throughout our stay.
One of the biggest issues was breakfast on Sunday. We were told that we could only have breakfast after the caravan owners had finished, even though we were willing to pay. This made us feel like paying guests were considered less important.
We also booked accommodation for eight people through booking, but when we arrived there was bedding for only six people. The missing bedding was not available, and when we contacted staff the following day, the employee we spoke to was extremely rude. Instead of trying to help, he simply said there was nothing he could do and refused to resolve the problem, despite our booking clearly being for eight guests.
Another disappointing rule was the swimming pool. Guests staying at the park could only use it until the afternoon, while later access was reserved exclusively for caravan owners. Again, this reinforced the feeling that non-owners were treated as second-class guests.
Throughout our stay, whenever there was an issue, we were repeatedly reminded that “you are not caravan owners.” This attitude made us feel unwelcome and, as immigrants, we felt discriminated against because we were treated differently from the caravan owners.
Overall, the customer service was poor, the staff were rude, and the unequal treatment of guests made this a very unpleasant experience. We will not be returning.
booked to stay at steeple bay-ended up in Dovercourt!
booked to stay at steeple bay, accomodation was unavailable, so offered refund or move to dovercourt with less than four hours notice. Reception staff at Dovercourt were pleasant, and several issues with caravan were dealt with promptly, but should have been spotted by inspection team. Dovercourt site was o.k. but was not where we wanted to go.
