Stayed at St. Osyth Beach Holiday site, near Clacton, Essex. Grandchildren had a great time, and the Park felt, generally, safe and accommodating. The Gold Caravans were well appointed, and there was... See more

Great holiday park very good restaurant…
Great holiday park very good restaurant great play area for our 8 year old grandson
very well behaved children for him to play with
Staff amazing
Our second time at this resort
Love the food trucks and outdoor cinema
Stowford farm in our motorhome
We stayed at Stowford farm in our motorhome.
Likes-Staff very friendly, toilet /shower facilities very clean. Lovely and quiet with a woodland walk.
Extremely dog friendly.
Food was great.
Dislikes-Unfortunately the pitch was very uneven, even being on a hardstanding pitch. And entertainment bar could do with an upgrade.
Although the woodland walk was lovely it could do with being maintained a bit more...bit overgrown which made it difficult walking some parts.
The Caravan was excellent
The Caravan was excellent, clean and well maintained, the site team provided excellent support with general questions and special requests, the only negative thing is that the onsite bar was closed for two days a week and only opened until 21:00 at night on the other days.
just returned from a week's stay
just returned from a week's stay, and it's probably one of the nicest parks I've been to (in my opinion). I have been to quite a few over the last 25 years. It's clean and tidy, as was the caravan. The staff, once again in my opinion, are the nicest I've had the pleasure to meet. The reception staff always had a smile on their face, even at stressful times, especially during check-in. They are so helpful. Thnks
Lovely 4 night stay
A nice relaxed 4 night stay. Great value for money with modern accommodation. The staff were helpful and friendly with the location close to the beach. The pool was great the only down side was that you had to book a one hour time slot due to it being a busier time of the year.
Stayed at Pakefield holiday park…
Stayed at Pakefield holiday park outside of school holidays, site is brand new, the caravan was new as well but kitchen sink was in the completely wrong place and sharp edges in the bedroom cut my granddaughter’s shoulder and caused a massive bump on my daughters head. Also, clubhouse is lovely with aircon but has no entertainment for the children or the adults whilst we were there. Wouldn’t go back!
Had a good experience in Steeple Bay
Had a good experience in Steeple Bay. A decent sized caravan set in the tranquillity of nature. The caravans had good open lounge to relax. The bedrooms were of decent size and advertised. The staff were courteous.
On the day of arrival I had broadband issues as the mobile signals are patchy. Had to buy broadband package which took payment but did not activate. Staff tried helping with a temporary code as it was late evening and eventually got the issue sorted.
Ample open areas among nature to spend time near the water.
The site is beautiful
The site is beautiful, clean and very quiet. The caravan was spacious and had everything you need. Staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. We will definitely return. Thank you
The site was immaculate
The site was immaculate, and staff were friendly, but efficient. The caravan was beautiful, and had everything you could think of. Beds were really comfortable. The only downside, was irregular WiFi. Overall, we had a fabulous time!
4⭐️ Excellent base for exploring Bude
4⭐️
We stayed for four nights at the end of July and had a really enjoyable break. The park is in a lovely, peaceful setting around a 15-minute drive from Bude, making it an ideal base for exploring the North Cornwall coastline and beaches.
Although the site was busy, it never felt overcrowded. The pub and clubhouse had a nice atmosphere without being rammed, which made for a much more relaxed evening.
Our Gold Trieste caravan was clean, comfortable and had plenty of room for our family. The double bed was comfortable, as were the single beds and even the pull-out bed—our daughter managed to sleep in all of them over the course of the stay! The only real criticism was the pillows, which were very thin. We were told this was because guests had been taking them home, so they were being rationed. It’s only a small point, but a couple of better pillows would have made a noticeable difference.
The site has a handy shop for essentials, although Bude is only 15 minutes away with supermarkets opening from 7am if you need a bigger shop. We also appreciated the on-site recycling facilities and found the laundry invaluable for washing out sand and saltwater before travelling home.
We spent most of our days at the beaches, so didn’t get chance to use the pool, but the facilities looked well maintained. Food in the clubhouse was standard pub fare at midpoint prices —nothing fancy, but perfectly decent after a day out. The entertainment team were always friendly and approachable. We only stayed around for the nightly bingo (pricey), but they kept things running well and created a pleasant atmosphere. It’s also worth mentioning that the park is very dog friendly, with plenty of owners enjoying their holidays with their dogs.
Finally, a special mention to Sophie on reception, who was friendly, welcoming and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Great customer service really does make a difference.
Overall, a relaxing holiday in a great location. The few minor niggles certainly wouldn’t stop us returning, and we’d happily stay here again.
First time at a Park Holidays always do…
First time at a Park Holidays always do the Haven/Parkdean. Will be booking Park from now on. The site at Silver Samds we went to was 10/10. Caravan was lovely. Staff so friendly. Very clean. Nice atmosphere. Nice restaurant & Bar. Busy but not crazy busy
The caravan at seasalter was lovely and…
The caravan at seasalter was lovely and clean the park was not so clean lots of unpicked up dog poo which was disappointing the staff at seasalter was not so friendly the caravan window handle was broken we reported 3 times and still was not fixed at the time we left , when I went into reception there was no hello or can I help you made me feel very unwelcome
The holiday at lakeside was wonderful…
The holiday at lakeside was wonderful this was our third year that must tell you something. The staff are great friendly and nothing is two much trouble. We had one of the luxury lodges it has everything that you could possibly want.
Lovely Park
We have stayed with several park holiday sites, this was our first time at Carleton Mires. The site is lovely very clean and the lakes are superb we enjoyed walking around them. We met a really lovely security lady, who had time to spend speaking with us.
I recently stayed at the holiday park…st osyth
I recently stayed at the holiday park and was disappointed with the condition of the caravan. The cleaning was not up to standard, with several areas clearly overlooked. On top of that, the caravan had a very unpleasant smell , but more like a dirty, stale cooking odour that lingered throughout the stay. This made the accommodation feel uncomfortable and far below the expected standard. These issues need urgent attention, as better cleaning and proper airing or maintenance would greatly improve the experience for future guests.
A great location to have a wee break
A great location to have a wee break. The staff at the site are incredibly friendly and the site is immaculately clean. There are clearly many van owners on the site that take pride in the areas and were seen clearing up after themselves at the venues. The site is dog friendly, including in part of the bar/dining area, and there are lovely areas around to walk the dog. We didn't have children with us, but there were quite a few playareas for kids that we saw other families enjoying. There is a small shop inside for your essentials, but if you're planning on cooking for yourself, you might be aswell to bring groceries with you, although I did see ASDA and Sainsbury doing home delivery to some of the vans. The food in the restaurant was good and unlike some other reviewers, I didn't think the prices were expensive compared to restaurants elsewhere, also bar prices were reasonable. The van we hired was clean and well kept and we would have no hesitation in returning.
Very clean and good location, V steep site
We went for the most expensive option out of season in March. Fantastic new and comfortable mobile home. Great location with fantastic view of the steam trains and close to the coastal path. The accommodation felt brand new like a modern house inside, spotlessly clean, kitchen and bathrooms really nice, we had a 2 bed and the 2 single beds were comfortable for 2 adults. I took my elderly mother who struggled with the very steep site and multiple steps up to the terrace with the caravans on. We had a Sunday lunch at the restaurant which was very basic with frozen veg. Might be better in the summer. Overall the stay was great and we all slept well but do not recommend for people with mobility issues.
