Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 610 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people have faced issues with being incorrectly fined or receiving charges despite paying for parking or having valid permits. Consumer feedback indicates general dissatisfaction with the payment systems, the ability to appeal fines, and the overall charges imposed. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that in some specific situations, their correct adherence to rules or showing evidence was met with rejection on appeals. Some reviewers reported difficulty securing parking spaces near care facilities or experiencing unclear signage regarding parking fee applicability.

Discriminatory against amputee

How anyone can work for this company and feel proud of what they do is alarming. The complete lack of compassion and common sense is astonishing and embarrassing.

My disabled father and I entered one of their car parks and were there for no more than five minutes. We quickly discovered that payment could only be made via an app, which we were unable to access. My father is an amputee and only has one leg, so simply getting him out of the car and organised with his prosthetic takes additional time. We attempted to find an alternative way to pay, realised we could not access the app, and immediately left the car park without using the facilities. Our total time on site was approximately five minutes.

Despite this, we received a PCN. I provided evidence of my father's disability, including his Blue Badge and proof of his amputation, demonstrating why additional time was required. We had every intention of paying for parking had we been able to do so, yet the company showed absolutely no discretion, understanding or grace.

The treatment of disabled visitors is deeply concerning. Penalising an amputee and their carer for spending a few minutes attempting to understand a payment system is not only unreasonable but is discriminatory.

Companies that treat disabled customers this way eventually earn the reputation they deserve. Judging by the number of similar complaints, I am clearly not the only person who has experienced this lack of empathy and common sense.

I hope anyone considering using these car parks reads reviews like this carefully and thinks twice before supporting a business that appears to value penalties over fairness and accessibility.

I had difficulty with a jet wash not working properly at an Asda Express in Mold so I was there over 30 mins washing my car!!! Not a small car. I then received a fine in the post as apparently you cannot spend more than 30 mins washing your car. I appealed and they declined. Said I could go to POPLA but if I did so and I lost they would charge me £100. Think it’s disgusting. I will not use that store or service again

Parked in a disabled bay at the…

Parked in a disabled bay at the hospital with my badge clearly on display and they have me a ticket stating I misused the bay. I appealed it and they refused my appeal despite the pictures taken clearly showing my badge on display. There reason the disabled spot I was in was for wheelchair ramp users, im a wheelchair user. To boot as well when I parked there the warden was walking past us at tge time and said nothing. They are nothing but vultures and shame on Manchester Royal Infirmary for hiring there grounds out to these parasitic external parking companies.

Visited James Cook hospital…

Visited James Cook hospital Middlesbrough last week with my daughter who's in a wheelchair to see a Neurologist as she's seriously ill, parked in a disabled bay, placed the blue badge and the clock, the visit took 90 minutes and we left, just received a parking fine of £42. Absolutely appalling.
It felt like I'd been robbed in the street with a knife and stole £42.

The absolute worst parking company

The absolute worst parking company.
They run the Woolstaplers car park in Chichester which is underground where its impossible to get mobile coverage. They seem to think that an app only payment system is appropriate.
After 17min of trying to download the stupid app and failing, I left. I have since been fined £100
An absolute bunch of scammers

Absolutely horrendous time trying to prove parking ticket has been paid. Appealed to POPLA with proof but unsuccessful. Looking forward to court in which they don’t have a leg to stand on. Appeal process a complete joke!

Total scam

Complete scam - a hopelessly flawed system without recourse. After an excellent stay at Voco IHG Hotel in Exeter, Devon their defective ParkingEye system gave 4 violations despite being confirmed into the hotel parking system. Worse… If you have a RENTAL VEHICLE the rental company (Enterprise in this case) fines a admin fee of £35 ($47) per each incident becoming a unresolvable nightmare. Highly recommend NOT using a RENTAL VEHICLE at Parkeye covered locations!

Incorrect Claim of Parking ‘Breach’ - Aldi Store, Solihull

Today, I received a letter from Parking Eye; very confused. Their letter claims I, on Saturday 23rd May 2026, had parked at the Solihull/Homer Road Aldi in a way that breaches their ‘terms and conditions’. Given I only park at this store to shop at Aldi (many, many don’t which is a huge problem for Aldi customers at this store) and spend no more than 45 minutes here (I’m not entirely sure why anyone would take an hour and a half to shop), their letter is inaccurate and I’m not entirely sure on what they have based their claim. I haven’t been fined but they do threaten me with a fine should I do so again (which didn’t happen on the 23rd May 2026 regardless). Given they make it extremely hard to communicate with them (via letter only, which tells you everything you need to know), I can’t contact them to advise them their information is wrong and there has been an error and I’m not spending money on a stamp to defend myself against their error. I also attempted to reach out to Aldi, but their customer services email is no longer in use. I’m saving the letter in case they make another incorrect claim that I’ve parked inappropriately and will reconsider shopping at Aldi if they allow their customers to be treated like this. I’ll also reach out to the store manager to see if they have CCTV from that day as this will support that I’ve done nothing wrong and didn’t overstay my parking ‘welcome’. I can only imagine how many other drivers are impacted by Parking Eye errors. Quite a shambles, really.

NORTHERN IRELAND!!!

If you live in Northern Ireland do not communicate with the company whatsoever.

Provided that you never tell them who the driver is, they do not have the authority to legally in force fine.

I sadly learnt this too late after paying. Wish I had done my research first.

They will likely reply to this stating that it is untrue but please research for yourself.

Just completely adore any and all communication with them and the fine will go away.

Con artists

Con artists, fined me for parking in Asda car park even though the sign clearly states parking restrictions do not apply when the store is closed. The store was closed during the first part of my parking so I did not exceed 2 hours when the store was open. Appealed with clear evidence as to why the charge was incorrectly applied, they rejected but offered a reduction to £20 so they clearly know they are wrong. No company should be allowed to operate in this way, absolute disgrace! Try and take me to court you bunch of thieves

Unbelievable how Parking Eye auto fine paying customers

Unbelievable how Parking eye are allowed to scam paying customers

I Stayed at Voco hotel Southampton paid for parking 4 days later received a parking fine £100, spoke to hotel “oh yes parking eye always send out parking fines” I appealed I showed my receipt they sent me a letter saying appeal is accepted no apology no compensation and no right of reply on email - Auto refusal on my email response so why bother sending a letter without an explanation or apology. What is real anymore you pay and you still get fined how many people just pay up is the question. Parking eye has the software to take a car photo but they don’t use it to find out who has paid the hotel ? A scam trader allowed to trade

Charlatans

This company loves to reject appeals due to “insufficient evidence”. They have purposefully made it difficult to appeal so you just give up. Worst parking customer service I’ve ever experienced

No option to speak to a human being

No option to speak to a human being. I had extenuating circumstances that were noted by POPLA on appeal that should have been taken into consideration. Then got slapped with a £30 admin fee for appealing the payment with no correspondence from parking eye.

Parking Eye-watering

Parking Eye! where do I start? They administer the car parking for most NHS trusts and a lot of other public organisations such as universities etc. From my experience with them they do not engage with the public. They do not accept emails - the only contact is either on the telephone or via their payment portal. There is no human interaction at all. Following an indusrial accident, I was admitted to Friarage Hospital, Northallerton. My wife came to pick me up and stayed 6 minutes over time. Fair enough, rules are rules and we held our hands up. I attempted to pay the £42 charge immediately, but the pay portal said I owed £00.00 I suspected this was delaying tactics preventing me from paying until the 14 day reduced charge period had elapsed and I would have to pay £70. I was determibed not to, so every day for a week I logged in and checked with the same result. Eventually I decided to write to them (yes, with pen & paper!) - absolutely no response or acknowledgement. In desperation I contacted the PALs team at the hospital (patient laison) and they assured me the PCN had been cancelled. Moral of the tale - try to avoid any carpark that is run by PE. If you have to use it, be meticulous in noting times etc (take photos). Finally, if all else fails and it is an NHS trust, contact the PALs team they are very helpful and have the power to intervene, after all it is their land. I would also like to ask any organisation who uses Parking Eye to think about who they partner with - these companies are parasitic, living on the backs of genuine organisations such as NHS. Finally I ran a check on PE on the HMRC portal and their accounts for 2024 show their turnover was £17m. I think that says it all!

They try to frustrate you

I emailed them on the same day and received a response more than a month late, with a response not related to my appeal.

It feels like they try to frustrate you to make you pay.
