Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the customer service, finding it difficult to contact and often receiving unhelpful responses from staff. Customers frequently encountered issues with their points not being added correctly, and found the retail offers to be limited or irrelevant to their needs. Some people were dissatisfied with the product offerings, noting that many promotions focused on junk food rather than daily essentials. However, a few other people also felt that the company showed willingness to fix faulty situations, and some even had positive experiences with specific customer service representatives who were patient and helpful.

I have been trying to delete two cards…

I have been trying to get PC Optimum to delete two cards from their App, that I can no longer use because one was stolen, and the other lost YEARS AGO!
I have been playing email tag (6 emails!) with their "customer care" people for days now, and still with NO results in site! Two days ago (20 April 2025), my request was sent to a "specialist". Why do they insist on making this request so DIFFICULT to answer?
This is the WORST "customer support" "service",that I have EVER dealt with, I would give them 0 stars, but 1 star is all I'm allowed.

I have been collecting stamps to buy…

I have been collecting stamps to buy cookware and since Dec 2024 they have been telling me they don’t have any cookware to buy! This is a scam! Went in today Feb 9 and still no cookware! Like who do I speak to!

The freeze your account without telling…

The freeze your account without telling you! I was unable to use my points for over 2 months and did not know why. When you call them they say you're account may have been compromised and reset your password. IF an account is compromised, you have the duty to inform me, and take actions to make sure my data is safe, not just freeze the account.

This worst company ever morning I got a grocery offer for…

This morning I got a grocery offer for spending $400 and get 40,000 points when the cashier looked further. Every other grocery store is on the list except the grocery store that I deal with which I always get these offers for that store so I take an hour to contact them and they’re no help Yourself sometimes this is a waste of time. PC Plus points is the worst company you could ever imagine. They rip people off they send you bogus offers and then say oh there’s a catch to that offer. Very bad company.

Very poor stamp promotion

I have gone to the Loblaws store in North Vancouver 3 times in the last week to purchase a pot with Optimums stamp purchase promotion. Each time there are no pots available. The staff advises they are not sure they will receive any more product for the promotion. Why have the promotion if the product is no going to be available???

Always missing points and a difficult…

Always missing points and a difficult time to get them back. I used to go to the store and a manager would key in the points for me but now this can’t happen because my card has been blocked saying “Good will not allowed”. Can’t get an answer as to why this is happening. My latest points inquiry was from Jan. 7, 2025 and still has not been resolved, although they say it has. Today is Jan. 21, 2025 and still nothing. All I get is the run around. They have given me three case #’s for they same inquiry. Get rid of the points system and lower prices to where they should be and then there are no problems with points and customers can afford food without all this crap.

It’s a scam

It’s a scam. Points just disappear. There is fraud at PC Optimum and/or at Shoppers drug Mart. When the cashier clicked “yes” to redeem my 50,000 points, the discount did not apply and the points disappeared😳! The manager told me to call PC Optimum. I called 4 times and they said they couldn't do anything about this. I don't know who stole my $65, but I know that I don’t have it 🤷‍♀️ (It was during a “spend your points” event so 50000=$65 ).

No double points for PC Insurance

PC Optimum seems to lie about double points for PC Insurance premium paid with PC Mastercard. I paid the yearly premium but only received the usual single points, not doulbe. Been dealing with the customer service for over 2 months now. Pretty much useless as the CS keeps going in circles with automated responses which takes at least a couple of weeks each, and without any action whatsoever to resolve the obvious issue.

Horrible Customer Service and form…

Horrible Customer Service and form responses to my (very legitimate) complaints. I was locked out of my account twice, during two different Redemption Events and told I could only earn, not redeem points. Waited on hold for customer service for 45 minutes, and wasted hours of my time shopping to take part in the Redemption Event only to be told I couldn't participate. I was not told of the alleged "security breach" and locked status of my account until AFTER I wasted all of this time, and no attempt has been made to make up for the lost time and lost ability to take part in the bonus event. Convenient that I was locked out at the exact time that they offer these bonus events. Atrocious way to treat loyal customers.

Worthless raincheck

Receive a raincheck and the store wouldn't honour the rain check - first I was told discontinued and then magically it appear on the shelf again. Filing a complaint didn't help - kept getting boiler plate apology with no suggestions. Three tries and kept receiving the identical boiler plate apology. If going to the Empress Walk Loblaws beware of the raincheck. Believe at times this is tactic to get rid of you and hoping want you return - someone else problem.

PC Optimum blocks anyone from redeeming collected points

Like thousands of people accross Canada, PC Optimum locked me out of my account over 4 times for absolutely no reason. After several conversations with customer service, I am still unable to redeem my points. Like everyone defrauded by PC optimum, I am only allowed to collect but not redeem.

I scanned my optimum at esso

I scanned my optimum at esso, beeped, proceeded with the rest of the steps. I asked for receipt, noticed no points.
Before if this happened you could contact optimum give transaction numbers they confirm and add missing points. No more !
I called, explained I did scan was told to send picture of receipt from phone to agent, did so, (major pain in ass), 2 wks later got message, not eligible because I didnt use a new app they were pushing, also to send picture of receipt. I did not ask for points from a app addition, did send picture of receipt. To add insult, they attached a picture of the receipt to this email.
Phoned again, explained again, (with updates, lol), got lots of hesitation, lots of holds, much as others huave noted. Finally told I did not scan card prior to purchase.
Or put another way, you are a liar 'sir'. Even if I didn't scan first, what a way to run a bonus program.
Loblaws, a family owned business, (yes I know their name), should be ashamed of their nickle and dime tactics, particularily as the economy recovers from a near pandemic disaster.

I wish I could give a zero

I wish I could give a zero. Took over 400,000 points when issued a new PC Card. I got email saying case resolved and nothing was done. I then spent 3 hours on the phone and was put on hold 25 times and still no resolution. I know it’s a free bonus but it becomes a scam when they take points away from $1000 spent.

PC management stop promising your members

I am surprised of PC management, they didn’t add to my card 6000 point last week they offer 6000 points if I buy $40.0 of fresh beef which I did bought at $44.0 when I complained they gave my by email a case number with a link to photo and email back the offer which I did but until now no email no additional point nothing, also they offer this week if I download Esso mobile and fill $25.0 they will add to me 10000 points they didn’t they send to me by email another case number I send them the invoice copy by email also until now no points nothing. Thier customer service team UN experience they put me on hold few times to learn from their super visor,
PC management you should respect your member clients you’re ignoring you have no credibility.

Optimum has horrible customer service

Optimum has horrible customer service. They offered me 60,000 points when I was going to close my account when there was boycotting several months ago & never gave them to me. I've been trying to contact them all these months & today someone finally contacted me & refused to honor the 60,000 points they promised me because the person that offered me the points to stop me from closing my account didn't make a note of it & for some reason I lose out. They didn't even have the decentsy to give me1 point. I will never deal with these horrible people again!

Absolutely the worst company to deal…

Absolutely the worst company to deal with... neither their store staff nor their online staff seem to have the ability or authority to resolve issues... we just wasted more than two months, and today over an hour on the phone, and the agent then wanted to send us an email with instructions so that we can telephone back to continue working for a solution...WTF!!! If I could rate as zero I would... we are going to deduct value of our points from credit card balance and pay them out in full, cancel cards, and never shop with them again.!!!

Not to be trusted

In theory PC optimum is an excellent concept but they play games in resolving disputes and completely distant themselves in customer inquiries/issues.
This tells me I can't trust the product and should not trust the product.
For example if you use the PC app to register a concern or issue, they make you re-type it 3 times. . . I can only assume they do this in the hopes you'll give up. This has been the status quo for several years.
Recently I've noticed, the points they promise don't get applied. It's random but significant. You have to double check everything. And then you have to go through an arduous process if you want to get what you're promised...
Trusted grocery Partner? No. Don't be deceived

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. Everytime I shop I have to do points inquiries even though my offers are loaded correctly and my card was scanned. I currently have 4 points inquiries pending (one from a month ago), and they are being ignored. Today I called to speak to a human, waited an hour, finally got through, I told her my complaint and she hung up on me. I am furious. This company is shady.
