I particularly would like to commend…
I particularly would like to commend Oliver, the member of staff I dealt with at Peach Guitars yesterday.
I am a very old ex pro musician and I wanted to buy a cheap sofa bass to have around the house; in my dotage, I’m finally learning how to play (and read) proper 1950s grown-up Jazz
Peach guitars are huge and well worth a visit.
Enormous stock in an enormous shop; all done out in unpolished pine as a replica cavernous extremely corny Western saloon in 1890s Montana. Complete with swinging saloon doors and wooden bars at the cashier window, like a Butch and Sundance bank, where you pay for your purchases.
One of the staff told me the decor-choice is about the owner’s love of Steve Ray Vaughn (Texas).
There was something in America the 1990s called The P.I.M.S. Database. A 10 year study to determine which organisations maintained market leading status, across all walks of commerce, for more than 10 years; and why.
The study revealed that the companies which led their individual markets for decades in the States (like for example John Lewis has here) did so, unlike the socialist cooperative John Lewis, by charging high end premium prices well above market rate; but offering exceptional customer service alongside their high prices.
An example in the study was a firm who came out as the second most successful car dealership in all of the USA for 20 years - Sewel Village Cadillac - coincidentally in Texas.
They charged 20% above market rate but customers loyally returned again and again because of their exceptionally high-quality service; actioned by what Tom Peters famously described at the time as ‘100 little things’:- fresh flowers in reception; spotless service bays in which their mechanics could be observed through a huge picture window in the customer waiting room; the CEO putting his card, on which he wrote his personal home telephone number, under the sun visor of every car they sold or serviced for customers to discover later; and so on.
This was years before the Internet, email or social media reviews on not yet invented smart phones.
Yesterday I had asked Oliver via email if I could try a number of cheap basses (Squires, Epiphones, Sterlings, etc.,) and drove the 3 hour round trip to Peach. The only store with a sufficient range of low end stock actually in store where I could try a selection, without having to go into central London.
Unlike GigGear in Harlow who simply advertise their suppliers’ stock, the extensive stock Peach have on their Website is actually available in store !!!! If it’s not on display on the walls it’s in their large warehouse out back.
Many shops, like GigGear in Harlow or Gear4Music in York, despite also having a nice large showrooms, trade mainly as mere online middle-men between distributor and customer. Most of the items they sell never get within 200 miles of their shops.
But at Peach, you can research their stock on line and then actually go and try it. I felt like “I woke up in July” back in the 70s when guitar shops were guitar SHOPS! Wonderful.
Oliver had put the 5 bases I wanted to try on the wall in their try out room and brought in a chair and a Fender amp, and then, as I had requested, got out of the way and let me make my choice undisturbed.
It took ten minutes to choose a cheap Squire 70s vibe Jazz Bass at £426 - £57 (over 15%) more expensive than what I could have paid if I’d then walked out, after receiving such great customer service, and ordered on line from my usual favourite store, Thomann in Germany. (Who would have mailed the exact same guitar to my door for £369, free of delivery and Brexit import charges, with free pick up shipping for returns.)
Peach have always overcharged. I remember them doing so when they had their tiny shop in nearby Great Sailing over 20 years ago, from which they also sold metal detectors. Then, the total opposite to now, their sales staff were, to say the least, frosty.
So, yesterday, for exceptional customer service, I paid top dollar.
Squire 70s Vibe Jazz Bass - current online prices:-
Peach £426
Gear4Music £419
GigGear £393
Music Street £379
Amazon £369 + delivery
Thomann (biggest guitar store in Europe) £369
Peach’s outstanding customer service, brilliantly helpful and wonderfully friendly staff, their ludicrously wide range of stock available in store, and their weird wild west interior design, are well worth the journey - despite their prices being more expensive than anyone else.
No wonder their owner proudly parks his stunning white Ferrari out front.
I hope Peach continue and don’t go the way of other excellent U.K. guitar stores who were market leaders for 40 before eventually going Brexit-bust, e.g. GAK and PMT, leaving us only Thomann in Germany to get great prices AND unbeatable service.
If you visit Peach, ask for Oliver … top sales assistant.

Great experience
Great shop which literally has EVERYTHING you could need/want. Experienced staff who were a great help and made the buying process a pleasure. Thank you
A great buying experience and an excellent guitar
I recently bought a new Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s in Unburst from Peach Guitars, and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish.
I ordered on Sunday, and the guitar arrived on Wednesday. There was a slight delay, but that was down to the courier rather than Peach. The guitar was very well packaged, with plenty of protection inside and a box-within-a-box setup, so it arrived in perfect condition.
When I opened the case, my first impression was simply that it was beautiful. It looked exactly as shown online, and in person, the finish exceeded my expectations. I’ve not found a single flaw so far.
The setup out of the box was spot on. Aside from the expected quick retune, it was immediately playable. Everything feels solid, and it was clear it had been properly checked before dispatch. Peach also included a signed setup card showing what had been done, which was a really nice touch.
What really stood out, though, was the customer service. I had originally been leaning towards a different finish, but after Peach posted a YouTube short showing a selection of the Unburst models, one of the guitars caught my eye and genuinely made me reconsider, making me want to look more closely before deciding. I got in touch through the website and asked whether they could send me videos of a few specific guitars I was considering. Dene came back to me and sent exactly what I needed, which made choosing much easier. He was incredibly helpful throughout and even sent another image while the guitar was in the setup queue.
Buying a guitar online can always feel a bit risky because every instrument is unique, but Peach do a great job of reducing that uncertainty by photographing and weighing each individual guitar. That attention to detail, along with the extra help they gave me personally, made me feel confident ordering from them.
Overall, the experience felt genuinely premium. The website was straightforward, the service was personal, and the guitar was exactly what I hoped for — and more. I’d happily buy from Peach Guitars again and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for an instrument.
Ticks all the boxes
Guitar ordered : Epiphone Les Paul Special Double Cut. Absolutely fantastic value for money instrument. The delivery time (one working day) was accurate and both the website description and photographs of the guitar were spot on. The guitar itself was set up perfectly out of the box and it plays really well. I couldn't ask for more. Great job, guys!
The shop and staff…..incredible!!!!

5☆ this shop and staff is outstanding. The customer service is fantastic..best experience ever. Its a must go to
I visited Peach Guitars for the first…
I visited Peach Guitars for the first time 28th March 2026 and was looking to try some Gibson Les Pauls. Wow what a place, this is without doubt the best guitar shop I have ever been to. They have a great selection of guitars but more than anything else was the customer service. I rang before hand to book an appointment and was greeted by the owner and then introduced to Dingle. He knew his stuff and was so attentive and took time to show me around and allowed me time to try a couple of Les Pauls. I didn’t buy anything but Dingle was no less attentive and was generally interested in me. We discussed guitars and music in general and all I can say is I would highly highly recommend Peach Guitars to any guitar player and I mean any, beginner to professional. BRAVO Peach Guitars and BRAVO Dingle you made my Saturday afternoon and I’ll sing the virtues of both forever. Great Place, Great staff, get yourself along to Peach Guitars it’s a must.
New guitar
Peach Guitars has been a shop I have wanted to visit for sometime, and I wasn’t disappointed. What an Aladdin’s cave of wonderful guitars. Dene was so helpful and happy to help me get to the right guitar a PRS SE DGT which I had been looking for, allowing time to try them out. Would highly recommended them. Thanks guys.

It’s an excellent shop with super knowledgable, very helpful staff. Amazing selection of guitars. Just tried a second hand guitar out there and they couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you
The shop itself is more a cool vibe warehouse done out like a western saloon. I wish them all the success in this dwindling shop market, they deserve it.
Amazing experience !
The journey to find a guitar can be difficult, even if you know what you desire. My Peach Guitar experience started on the website. The fact that they show you the actual photographs of the instrument and provide you detailed information about its characteristics gives you the opportunity to choose rightly ! The experience at the store was very much customer centred and that’s because of the professionals that work there. George provided the outmost experience at Peach guitars and gave me a tour through the facilities, showed me their inventory and let me play the infamous “Greeny” ! I felt at home and valued. More than a purchase it was a great experience from a company that values its customers. The owner Alan is an amazing person and shared his stories…and even gave a little gig on the drums !
I highly recommend Peach Guitars if you’re thinking upgrading or even buying your first guitar, it will give you the ultimate experience.
Fantastic set up and quick delivery
Guitar, came quickly and set up perfectly. Would highly recommend fantastic store
I’ve been to Peach Guitars this…
I’ve been to Peach Guitars this weekend, we drove on purpose to visit the shop and my fiancé booked an appointment. As a person who doesn’t play guitars, I can tell you I’ve left this place wanting to learn how to play.
I was definitely not expecting the whole amazing experience we had.
First of all the staff is absolutely great and passionate about what they do!! We’ve been with George, who is so knowledgeable and gave us a full tour, we’ve seen lots of iconic guitars and the place looks just like we stepped into Nashville itself!
I can’t rate the experience more than 5* but was definitely super! So worth it to visit this shop, liaise with the most kind and knowledgeable guys who really know how to advise you and proportionate the best experience!
A place to definitely come back and again props to George who contributed a lot for this great day!
I wanted to improve my Gibson
I wanted to improve my Gibson. George gave cracking advice on pickups and bought those and had a setup done. Like a different guitar. Beautiful to play and a much improved sound. I’m delighted.
Outstanding Experience at Peach Guitars
I recently purchased a Novo Dealer Limited Chambered Serus H2 from Peach Guitars and the experience was absolutely superb.
Dermot handled the sale and he was fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the instruments they stock. He was incredibly helpful throughout and made the whole process relaxed and enjoyable.
The guitar itself is simply incredible, without doubt the best guitar I’ve ever played. The quality and tone are just outstanding.
Peach Guitars has an amazing selection and the customer service was top class. Highly recommended.

Great service & really helpful with managing payments … great comms. & everything well packaged & delivered promptly. Great stock & good vibes from the staff, Jeff was really helpful.
Fantastic Service
Fantastic service from beginning to end. When I got there Glenn had already got the guitars I was interested in ready in a room for me to check out.
Glenn knew the perfect balance between leaving me alone - and checking in to make sure everything was good.
Alan was great too. He gave me a personal tour of Peach, which has some amazing guitars as well as some very cool woodwork!
I ended up walking away with a James Tyler, which I haven't been able to put down since. I fell in love with the burning water 2K after seeing John unbox it on YouTube- and I wasn't disappointed when I got to see it in the flesh.
I will definitely return to Peach for my next episode of GAS!
Cheers Chaps!
A first class service.
Having read reviews and watched their videos I decided to make a long trip down to Colchester to buy some equipment. I must say I was not disappointed, The service was great and George who dealt with me was extremely helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and honest. No hard sell and all my questions were answered. I ended up buying 2 guitars and an amp and all were set up before I left. A very pleasant experience which I have no hesitation in recommending them to others. A first class service which I will definitely visit again. Well done Peach guitars.
Honestly the best experience !!!
Honestly the best experience I’ve had at a guitar shop in the uk!!!!
Definitely recommend going to check out the place, it is a guitarist wonderland and very friendly staff
Felt so welcomed walking through the door
All in all definitely worth a visit!!
Peach Guitars - 5* for service and choice
I visited Peach Guitars today and left with a new PRS Guitar a couple of hours later having had the best customer service experience I've had in many years.
From the moment I arrived until the second I left I was made to feel welcome, was thoroughly looked after - offered coffee, allowed time and space to try the guitars out without any pressure.
Dermot who looked after me was exceptionally attentive and couldn't have done more to make me feel a valued customer - even though it was my first visit and I was a walk in.
I can't praise the service at Peach enough, not to mention the choice of guitars they have - it's the most guitars I've ever seen in one place in my life.
Great job Peach & looking forward to returning.
Friendly, knowledgeable and just a great place to visit
Wow! What an amazing store and filled with the friendliest, most knowledgeable team that I have experienced in a long time. It was a true privilege to be shown around the facilities and to be given the benefit of John and Al's knowledge and expertise. I can't thank them enough!
Delighted with the suggested amplifier. Utterly stellar!
