Best Insurance Company I Have Ever Dealt With In My ENTIRE Life! They were very supportive, efficient and responsive. I would highly recommend and that’s coming from someone who had a very unfortunate incident but had the likes off Photo guard supporting me through this process. I can’t thank the team enough!

Being a relatively new customer to Photoguard, it was easy enough to setup and take out a policy with them, but when I tried claiming it was a whole different story!
After paying for 2 months on a new policy I broke my GoPro, not my fault the holder gave way and it smashed, called Photoguard and made an appointment for the claim.
I was given the Spanish Inquisition! My GoPro fell off the car that was filming, the questions got as silly as “ when was the car last in the garage and serviced”.
I got 20 minutes in and said that’s enough the guy then said it’s a new policy that you’ve had 2 months (renewed from the year before) and he basically accused me of smashing this camera to pay for the new one I just bought! What’s a GoPro got to do with a mirrorless slr I just bought??
I launched a complaint, gave up with the questions and cancelled the policy immediately! I’ve now moved to Ripe insurance, hopefully that will be better!
This just shows I should have read the reviews as I’m not the only one it appears who Photoguard have done this to!
Complaint was reviewed and Photoguard found in favour of themselves. Says all you need to know!

To write this is really hard but it may help other people out there like me. I having nothing else to lose.
Basically I was robbed on a bus and £4000 of camera equipment was taken from me this happened in Bolivia. I was insured with photoguard, state not anymore. And i thought I would be covered as this wasn’t my fault. I was wrong, it got declined due it them deeming it unattended. Yet another insurance paid out a small claim on the same term and conditions. I also put in another complaint and the decision still stood. I feel photoguard have made me out to be a criminal and this hurts. But I feel it is criminal that have taken money me off every month without the intention of paying out. I wish anybody who reviewed my claim are not ever put in the position I have been where you stuck in a foreign country and everything has been taken from you. It is truly soul destroying. I would suggest going with a company who helps you and doesn’t destroy you. Avoid photoguard if you want to be covered in Genuine cases like mine.

Prompt and efficient claim response,
thanks Sharon
I’ve been a photographer full time for 3 years now and I’ve always had my insurance with PhotoGuard. I’ve just had to make my first claim for a broken lens and I have to say that the whole process was pretty easy and straightforward. My claim was accepted and I’m getting my lens repaired!
Amazing efficiency!
Jamie was absolutely fantastic.
Genuine claim, i dropped a camera while working but they treat you like a criminal, ask for private messages and emails, dont want to help or pay even though you are supposedly covered, get you to source repairs yourself and pay and then they will let you know if you might be cevered, thought this was what you paid them to do!. They quote 5 days to reply to a question which is extremely frustating, not worth the money and yes they are expensive, you expect more from this company. Extremely dissapointed in the service I have received or should I say not received.
I have never had to claim on an insurance policy before, but was dealt with brilliantly by the photoGuard team when a camera of mine was recently stolen.
I contacted the team as soon as I could and within 24 hours of providing the relevant documentation the claim was approved and I had a replacement ordered.
A process that I was worried could take months was done in a day and that's the biggest compliment I can give them.
I’m a professional photographer working in an intense field — Olympic-level equestrian sport — which means that it’s absolutely crucial that my kit is protected in all circumstances. In total I’ve got over £20,000 of kit on my policy with PhotoGuard, with all opt-ins — so I’m protected at home and abroad, for mechanical breakdown, if a friend borrows my kit, and so on. My policy, which is a pretty reasonable £60 or so per month, also rolls in my public liability policy. Most helpfully, though, I’ve been able to insure all my secondhand kit as new for old — and it was this brilliant option that helped so much when my primary body (a 17 year old Nikon d3!) and one of my lenses were broken while on a shoot. Jamie at PhotoGuard couldn’t have been more helpful and prompt in sorting the details of my claim, easing my worries, and paying out in the form of a brand new 24-70mm lens and a Nikon z9 camera. The policy I have with PhotoGuard is worth its weight in gold for the peace of mind it gives me — and I look forward to continuing to insure my kit with the company for years to come and certainly through this summer’s Olympic Games, where the stakes are so high that only the best and most reliable companies will do.
fell over on mud camera hit the deck lens got stiff and out of focus call the next day and had my claim dealt with fast and very polite i
I am a keen amateur photographer and I love my photography equipment, so when I had an accident and my camera and lens went flying I was understandably gutted. Luckily the lens seemed fine but the camera had a decent sized chunk broken off it. It was assessed and deemed the internal damage was too great to be repaired. Photo guard were on hand to advise me and assist every step of the way. I was very impressed by how simple and speedy the process was. Very satisfied customer.
My camera was stolen when I was on a bus, the bus company was reported, the theft was reported to the police, and yet the insurance managed to tell me that it didn't qualify as theft and I got nothing.
I was paying the insurance for almost a year, I don't understand how the insurance decided, without doing any investigation, just with one call to ask me what happened, the agent decided, that my case did not qualify as "stolen camera", because there had been no aggression, physical contact with the thief or anything similar. I was speechless, I couldn't believe it.

The whole process of getting my camera/lens insured was so easy and I got an issue to access my policy that the company helped me with. I haven’t claimed the insurance to see the process of it but I hope to never need to 😊
The handling of my claim was dealt with promptly, and communication was excellent. Auto-reponse to emails said ‘we will reply within 5 days’, however on every occasion it was within one day, and often within a few minutes. The whole system is user-friendly, and I’d highly recommend their service.
