Great local leisure centre which is good value for money.

Absolutely lovely centre, so so clean, I nice to spend time meeting up with friends for a swim and a coffee.

I have on numerous occasions expressed the frustration of members not being able to gain a place on Zumba Gold classes. I have asked why some of the £215 million profit made by the company can not be used to train staff as zumba teachers, but I suppose the company is only interested in profit.
However, at least Sherry the zumba instructor has been able to offer another class on a Monday morning, but only 10 people can be accommodated, so classes are still over subscribed.

Carnival leisure centre staff are very friendly, and welcoming. The cleaning staff do a brilliant job keeping the pool and surrounding areas clean and tidy.
A big thank you to them all.

The whole building whilst quite old compared to other Centres, is kept Clean. Very impressed by the environment. Good Gym, Clean Changing Rooms and Excellent Pool and Health Suite.

I have worked in swimming pools and leisure centers for most of my adult working life in a hands on and management position Berwick leisure center is a great example of how a center should be .My only slight issue would be that if I suspend my membership I was informed that I would need to pay a rejoin fee this I find unfair (I am aware of the special offer available at the moment) in all the centers I have worked in no rejoining fee was implemented if a member suspended his or her membership I feel this could possibly effect people rejoing, what are your thoughts on this .

Another great aqua workout with instructors at the dolphin leisure.

Increased membership fees and increased members but NO increase in fitness classes or equipment or gym facilities or changing rooms or lockers or toilets or carpark spaces. Don’t waste your money.

Super reception staff our first line of contact.

Very poor hygiene overall in this gym.
Equipment never gets cleaned and is in a layer of dust, hairs & god knows what else.

Too many kids and the parking is awful, paying £50 a month to not be able to park because people are coming in to use costa is ridiculous, there needs to be parking for members and parking for people coming in to drink coffee, pi++ take imo. The time it takes for machines to be fixed aswell is mental. Other than that the gyms good

I joined the xcel to lose weight to build up strength. (As I turned 66 years old this month.) to feel better in myself as I suffer with depression anxiety. Since i joined the gym my anxiety my well being has increased significantly. Happier in myself. I leave the gym at the xcel after a good work out pleased with myself. The only issue I have with the gym is I be waiting ages to go on the weight machines as other members sit on the weight machine on their phones for ages. Or chatting to another person on the other machine near them. Mostly ignoring is they are on their phones for 10-15 minutes not moving off or away from the weight machines having to wait on them to finish. I have had to do extra work out on other weight machines which I don’t want to do just waiting on that someone to get off their phones to carry on using the machine. Making other people wait while their on their phone then to start using the weight machines a is selfish and out of order. Both men and women
