Elegant Town: A great Place to Stay in London

There are several factors that made staying at 14 Eccleston Place, flat 7, great holiday accommodations. First, the location was great. We were about two blocks from Victoria Station. That meant that the tube was a short, convenient walk. There was also a Sainsbury grocery store and a Boots pharmacy in easy walking distance.
Second, the flat was beautiful! The views from the living room windows were wonderful. The rooms were large and clean. We actually received a major break: because we were staying three weeks, our landlord gave us a free upgrade from a one bedroom and 1.5 bathrooms to a two bedroom, two bathroom flat. We had so much room!
Third, the level of customer care was exceptional. Even great places have issues, and ours had several. For unknown reasons, our internet connection disappeared the first day. This would have been a disaster, but Kate Sidney, the point person for Plum Guide, made sure it got fixed promptly. Kate also solved the other little problems. Our kitchen had no can opener or potato peeler; she provided them. The shower knob kept falling off; Kate sent a maintenance person to fix it. She did the same for a broken window shade. There was supposed to be a fan in the flat, which was crucial when the temperatures soared to more than 90 degrees (how was that even possible in London in May?!) Kate sent one over. In short, Kate promptly fixed every little issue that arose.
My wife, Jan, and I have stayed in London almost every year since 1999--save for the pandemic. During this time we have rented from several site including Price Apartments, Holiday Lettings, and VRBO. This was our first time with Plum Guide. This flat was easily the nicest accommodations we have rented we have rented in London. We were very impressed by Plum Guide. I am already thinking of returning next year.

Amazing experience…again!

They are attentive, communicative and curate the nicest home stays one can find. We have used them multiple times and each time we were impressed by the experience. We will continue to use them for our travels!

Our place was perfectly located, spacious and perfect for our family of 4. We were able to easily walk to the historic sites in Rome. Restaurants, supermarkets, and transportation options were at our doorstep. We had a great visit!

Location and facilities were excellent

Location and facilities were excellent. Only reservation in the online description, which didn't spoil things for us but might create an issue for two adult couples, is the size of the second bedroom which is very small and only really suitable for two children.

Bed Bug Disaster

This company was an absolute disaster. After my first night, I found bed bug marks on the top sheet and numerous bed bug stains on the mattress. I immediately vacated and had a Orkin inspector review the photos to confirm that there was in fact evidence of bed bugs. I also discovered bites on my arms, legs, and face. To begin, my "host" was entirely unresponsive for the first 48 hours after my discovery and Plum Guide provided zero additional help. They continued to not admit to the presence of bed bugs or provide a refund. I have attached photos of the sheet and mattress markings along with an excerpt from the official report. Please never ever do business with these horrible people!!

As part of the investigation, the host commissioned an in-person inspection by an independent third-party pest control company. According to the inspection report, no evidence or traces of bed bugs were found at the property. The host also advised that no similar reports had been received from any other properties within the building.

As a platform, we have a responsibility to make evidence-based and informed decisions using the information available to us from all parties involved. While we understand that you disagree with the findings of the inspection, we have continued to present your concerns to the host and seek further clarification on your behalf.

We would also like to clarify that Plum Guide has remained engaged throughout this case and continues to work on it in real time. We genuinely care about our guests' experiences and always strive to support both guests and hosts fairly when disputes arise, we continue to work with the host to find a solution to your early departure. Despite being 'horrible people'

The booking process was straightforward…

The booking process was straightforward and the property was fantastic, very well-maintained and -presented.
What was a little confusing nearer the time of our stay was the different layers of management and ownership.
We were given a contact name and number but text messages sent did not get a response, this only happened on the chat section of the website.
A query about any ‘welcome hamper’ brought the response, ‘that’s up to the owner’, which was not helpful.

Great apartment in Bordeaux

The apartment was as advertised in terms of size and appointments. The apartment was pretty large by French standards. There is no air conditioning and there was a period of a heat wave. This wasn't a large problem, as the walls are thick stone and the apartment stayed much cooler than the outside air. The location was great with easy access to the tram system. I think the apartment is decorated nicely and the kitchen is large, although I didn't cook much. There are a couple of bars at the nearer end of the street that get busy on nights with football or rugby matches. They could be pretty loud, late at night, especially when a French team was playing.

Great experience in London and Venice

Perfect

Orvieto Delights

We had a wonderful stay at Orvieto Delights in Orvieto. The accommodation was in a great location. It was a lovely space but still very comfortable and felt like coming home after a day of touring.

Super impressed, faultless service.

A Little Gem!

The Clock House is a real little gem in the centre of Chichester, within walking distance of all the town has to offer. It is very comfortable, and beautifully presented, with loads of fresh flowers and edible goodies provided.
