Such a misery

I was unfortunate to visit Longrock post office in Penzance today.
I’ve never seen such a miserable looking man in my life. He was grumpy, not friendly, not smiling etc…. The customer service was appalling.
The shop looked like it was closing down.
He even beats the man at Crowlas post office for being a misery.

603 Roman Road

603 Roman Road
This post office has been closing unexpectedly and without notice for several months. Despite several complaints, no action has been taken, so I am raising the issue here and requesting a change in branch management. The branch was closed again today, 22 October 2026, at midday without any warning or notice.

I was expecting a very important and…

I was expecting a very important and very expensive parcel but it didn't arrive, after 3 days I tried to find out where it had gone but was just sent round and round in circles with the same computer message which was the last message that was on the system which was," Your parcel is expected today", this message hadn't changed in 4 days and I couldn't get to talk to a real person at all. Eventually, after absolutely no help from Royal Mail a kind woman brought my slightly soggy parcel round my house, she had found it on the side of the road near her home. Customer service is appalling.

Bad service from a Post Office assistant

Waited in a long queue to be served at the main Post Office in Cleveleys, Lancashire. The female assistant refused to help me as she said I didn't have the correct paperwork. She was very unhelpful and I didn't like her attitude. I ended up going to a different Post Office in the next town. Completely different attitude from the assistant who fulfilled my request with the same paperwork, why is that?

There's an age-old adage

There's an age-old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Sadly, those at the top of the greasy pole in the Post Office have ignored its advice repeatedly, leading to the "Horizon scandal", in which known faulty software was installed to "help sub-posties", but simply implicated innocent staff in an industry-wide "loss of funds", whilst a hypocritical vicar and PO Top Banana (one & the same charlartan) showed no Christian charity towards the staff she knew were being scapegoated, but cried shamelessly for herself whilst refusing to hand back massive "Performance-related bonuses."
It's no wonder, with such an immediate history, this once revolutionary business model is so detested; stamps cost a relative fortune, there's no joined-up thinking between the PO and Royal Mail.
I don't want my mail at 17:30pm, and nor does anyone else. It's a cash cow to the numpties in charge and a source of intense irritation to its customers, but hey, who need give a damn about counter staff or customers when you're trying to stand out on Linked-In?

If I could score the negative 1 I…

If I could score the negative 1 I would. Post Office savings today (October 2026) seem to be paying a competitive rate 4.40% however if you need access to your money - you won’t get it immediately, but will need to wait a day, possibly two. Customer Service support also terrible -waited 30minutes to actually talk to an operator. Avoid Post Office online savings - not worth the agro.

Waste

Ordered some second class stamps... took 5 days to get delivered...wastefully packed with an A4 receipt and an unnecessary complimentary slip, with the two books of stamps presented in a card and plastic cover.
Little wonder the P.O. is struggling

Make sure you are getting delivery by the Post Office!

I sent a small packege at my local Post Office on 2nd October. Although it was not very big i ended up paying £3.95 because it would not go through the small slot. The package never arrived and upon checking the receipt i found that the Post Office had used Evri for delivery. I was not asked and assumed i was using the Post office delivery system. Next step turned out to be Temu customer services, not an enjoyable experience! Long story short they damaged the parcel and it is non deliverable. 14 days later and another phone call with Evri i received a compensation claim form and now await to hear if i will be compensated for the delivery cost and the gifts inside. Why are the Post Office using Evri? No wonder their business is struggling when they are giving it away! I visited my local Post Office and asked for advice, they told me i should have been asked if i wanted to send via evri. They also said the Evri had handed over my parcel to Hermes for final delivery! I and my friend would was waiting for the package were both very disappointed by the whole experience!

Who delivered my goods as the Post Office says was not them?

I booked a collection to Music Magpie for last Saturday and ticked the box stating that I would not be in. I left the goods in an agreed safe place with the instructions and bar code for collection present.

I popped out and when I come back the goods were gone which was pleasing as Evri had previously failed to collect three times. However, when I checked my emails an email from the PO claimed that the PO had failed to collect as I was not in. What!

So who did collect the goods and how did they get to the buyer as some days later I was paid in full by the buyer? The Post Office but they said not in their emai on the day of collection? Perhaps Evri but they no longer had an instruction or label for this collection? An unlikely thief?

Why so difficult?

Ridiculous - parcels not delivered

Ridiculous. I am tracking 2 parcels sent express TO the UK. I know exactly when the parcels left the sending country and so I know that they have both been in the UK for a week. According to the Post Office tracking system, I will receive more information "when the packages arrive in the UK". According to the automated helpline, my packages "have just LEFT the UK...."
When I try to speak to someone, I am on hold for exactly 10 minutes before the call is dropped. This happens every time, so is an obvious 'feature' of the helpline to ensure that customer service agents do not have to speak to customers. Disgraceful.
Companies used to care about their customers. Now, no-one at the Post Office gives a damn and there is obviously no pride in their work. They literally refuse to speak to you when you have a legitimate enquiry.
Disgraceful.

I have been a PPI account holder for 7…
I have been a PPI account holder for 7 years and given royal mail over 200k over my time in business. What once was a reasonable service has fallen to peices. Items taking over 10 days to reach addresses in the UK. Lost items. Attitude of middle management. And customer services like a non existent
I can't believe how far this company has fallen. It's ruined my reputation to a degree of broken delivery dates.

Guidelines given by royal mail are a joke. They even say 90 % delivered on time. So I let down 10% of my customers. The is unacceptable.
I am so mad at your disregard of business needs and customer satisfaction. I hate your company but have to use you. Management go and get another carer. As you can't do logistics

Extremely rude/unhelpful man, Newton Abbot PO 8

The short old man extremely rude and lacking total knowledge to do with ID DL verification for provisional drivers licence, who works at Newton Abbot post office counter, Costcutter, should be reported and getting the sack by his manager!! It was shameful how he treated me today initially refusing to verify my British Passport ID on my perfectly valid British Passport, which has still 7 months left, as expires in May 2027!!
I can see that's another customer here who had a similar painful experience, apparently with the same PO clerk!
He started going on about the completely wrong info he had about being only within 18 months of expiration, and which still wouldn't have comply with my passport expiring dates! His stubborness + totally wrong information demands on ID British Passport verifications, was totally out of place, and I stood up to him and said I wasn't leaving until he confirmed my ID regardless!! I was obviously right as almost immediately got my DL Email notification showing successfully! The annoying and rude man continued to be rude all the way until the end, and reacted awfully when I shown to him the online info which explained clearly he has been in fact completely wrong!! He kept stubbornly saying he was right and not to tell him how to do his job! Absolutely out of this world!! The manager shouldn't allow staff behaving in such appalling manner and to stop this terrible stressful episodes to continue! It would have been a complete waste of my journey if I hadn't stood up up to him!!
