PrestaShop is one of the best ecommerce software.

PRESTA SHOP ADMIN MODULE SCAM!!!! This is a trend of theirs. You can ask questions on the live chat and they will tell you that you need a specific module that ends up not working and you can not get a refund for because of some lame rule of theres. 

I bought 2 modules that arent what I needed and one of them had a monthly plan of $4.99 even after I bought it. Thats just ridiculous to me. 

BE CAREFUL WITH PRESTASHOP MODULES THAT DONT WORK AS DESCRIBED.

Good service, speaks french as well as english. Solved my main problem but wasn't too fast for responding.

Don't use the worst framework ever.

I have just opened an E-commerce with this framework and I am regretting it.
let's go by order:

- Free download but code to be fixed by hand full of bugs and problems with the g-Google search console.
- Plugins with untrue descriptions maybe it will seem to you that their plug works correctly, then you buy it and nothing works and they don't give assistance so you end up with useless plugins paid dearly.
- Community does not exist
- No compensation policy

No customer support from this company. I paid for the standard facebook pixel addon, which other platforms do not charge at all (wordpress gives it for free). Firstly it didn't do what was advertised, I couldn't create a catalog in Facebook and Instagram. I contacted the support 6 times, no answer. The first inquiry was on 14 Sep 2020. I even called by phone 3 times, only further stalling always saying to me wait 24h, wait 72h. They are out of business and everyone who uses them.

I recently purchased 2 addons from PRESTASHOP ADDONS website and misspelled my email address, so I didn't received the email to download the products.
I tried to recover the account and password but it was impossible.
I started trying to contact PRESTASHOP but apparently is almost impossible that a human being answers!!!
I tried via live chat, email, tweets, phone call to UK and France and the CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TOTALLY USELESS!
I already spent several days and waste my money in phone calls without answers, despite PRESTASHOP charged the money to my bank account straight away from purchase.
Really don't know what to do now...

READ THESE REVIEWS, people! I got conned out of money and the Customer Support of Prestashop is really horrible. Thank God I didn't go live with this thing. Serves me right for not reading reviews first. Now I can see my experience is far from unusual. Anyway, below is my own review. Prestashop should be sued IMO.

The Prestashop e-commerce works, but beware! It is totally useless as a shop unless you spend an extra 100 or 200 of whatever currency on modules that prevent fraud and allow basic modern web shop functionality. And if you aren't good with PHP and HTML/CSS, then you'll need to splash out on a theme as well.

Nothing wrong with that, however, in order to make money on commission, they'll allow any conman developer to sell in their Theme and Modules shop.

So don't hold your breath if problems arise. Prestashop will do anything to hold on to your money. As long as the fake developer has a working Demo on display and keeps saying "Give me access to your server and I'll fix", they will consider this a no problem transaction. They'll usually respond in 5 to 6 working days but eventually they'll stop responding to you.

Prestashop are unprofessional and clearly money driven. They won't even let you read customer reviews of modules and themes. They let the developer control these. I wonder why. Customer satisfaction means nothing to Prestashop and they lack the basic decency to reply to paying customers. I wouldn't recommend Prestashop to anyone.

I understand your business model. The issue is you don't give a hoot about customer-developer disputes and you let any conman sell in your shop. I have been in contact with you and the developer. After 16 days of achieving nothing, of which the last 8 you didn't respond at all, I canceled my account. I hope that's formal enough for you.

As a Senior Software Developer with more than 10 years professional experience I can only advise: Please do not use this Shop-Software.

- more than 1.9k issues at Github (which seem to be solved only very slowly.)
- Errors occur all the time, if you activate the PHP logs you will see various warnings, absolutely unacceptable.
- The modules and themes are in very bad quality, security holes everywhere.
- the backend is not modern. Who else uses PNGs as icons/for the logo in the year 2020?
- Slow: too many & complex database queries: that makes everything slow.
- Obsolete: much old code, which must be renewed urgently

No known company uses this system: Think why. Many of the reference stores also old...

In my opinion, the system simply has its best years behind it and is outdated. I advise every new customer and developer not to use this system.

A horrible mess of an unstable system.

Native out of the box things seem broken even in "stable" versions, extremely difficult to customize and develop for. Expected basic functionality either missing, or needs to be installed manually (new order notification system).

The Prestashop marketplace is like the wild west. Loads of low quality modules, that charge a premium. Even native Presta-team developed modules can be strangely outlandish and duct taped together (I'm looking at you Premium Gift Card module).

Avoid at all costs.

We are using PrestaShop as an agency for 9 years now and are very satisfied with the evolvement of PrestaShop, its ecosystem and the software itself. In our opinion PrestaShop is the best open-source online shop system. Perhaps it is even the best ecommerce system in total. We like it, we recommend it, we already set up 100+ PrestaShops over the last few years. Keep up the good work guys!

I believe prestashop was programmed by donkies.
Horribly stupid system that asks the customers 2 times for vat number (once for the invoice address and once for the delivery). And if you happen to be that “dumb” that you put the vat only in the invoice address, it accepts it and later you can realize that the vat is still calculated and have to ask for a cancellation of the order. Even the customer support didn’t know this at the company. How convoluted and useless system you made. Not mentioning that after the vat number is filled in a way that satisfies this “engine” it sends you a comfirmation of the order with vat incl while in the generated invoice there is no vat incl. Was this even tested?
