If it were possible to give zero starts I Would. I would strongly advise anyone considering using this garage to read our experience before entrusting them with their vehicle.
We recently took our Alfa Romeo MiTo to the Paynes Lane, Rugby garage for a radiator replacement and paid nearly £700 for the work. Unfortunately, what followed has left us extremely disappointed with both the workmanship and the level of customer service.
Our concerns began when we dropped the car off. The member of staff behind the service counter remarked that he “couldn’t be bothered to do the work today”. It may have been intended as banter, but it was hardly reassuring when handing over a vehicle for an expensive repair.
We had specifically agreed that an aftermarket radiator would be fitted to keep the cost down. However, when we collected the car, we discovered that a genuine Alfa Romeo radiator had instead been fitted, adding approximately £90 to the cost. We did not challenge this at the time because we assumed that, despite the additional expense, the repair had at least been completed correctly.
When collecting the car, the same member of staff then jokingly attempted to charge us £1,000 rather than the agreed amount. Again, this was apparently intended as humour, but given the earlier comment it came across as extremely unprofessional.
Far more seriously, after driving the car for JUST ONE DAY following the repair, the engine temperature suddenly went into the red while we were travelling on the motorway and the vehicle shut itself down.
When we opened the bonnet, we discovered that the UPPER RADIATOR HOSE HAD COMPLETELY COME OFF. Coolant had escaped from the system and the engine had overheated.
We have photographic evidence of how we found the vehicle.
Considering that the garage had just replaced the radiator, discovering that a radiator hose was no longer secured after only one day was extremely concerning. This was not a minor inconvenience. We were left stranded following a serious overheating incident on the motorway, and we are now understandably concerned about whether the overheating may have caused damage to the engine.
On inspecting the car further, we also discovered that the FRONT BUMPER HAD NOT BEEN REFITTED CORRECTLY and was visibly misaligned following the work.
For nearly £700, we expected a professional radiator replacement and a vehicle returned to us properly assembled and safe to use. Instead, within one day we had suffered complete coolant loss, engine overheating, a detached radiator hose and a poorly refitted bumper.
We have now made a formal written complaint and have asked the garage to rectify the problems, investigate whether the overheating has caused any consequential engine damage, and arrange for the vehicle to be independently inspected because we no longer have confidence in the work that was carried out.
The most frustrating part is that we originally overlooked the inappropriate comments, the joking about the bill and even the unexpected additional cost of the genuine radiator because we simply wanted the car repaired properly. Finding ourselves at the side of the road after just one day completely changed that.
Based entirely on our own experience, I cannot recommend this garage.
If you do choose to use them, I would strongly suggest checking exactly which parts have been fitted, checking the invoice against what was agreed, and thoroughly inspecting the vehicle and cooling system before assuming the work has been completed correctly.
We sincerely hope the garage now takes responsibility for resolving the situation properly, but customers paying this amount of money should not have to experience what we have experienced.

Failed motorcycle mot with made up…
Failed motorcycle mot with made up "major defect" then was told they couldn't touch it so I took it to a proper motorcycle test centre and they passed it. I know it's a drop in the ocean but they have lost my custom for good. Never going back!!
