Poor Pyronix Experience

Had a Pyronix alarm system installed a few years back and it’s never worked for a week or more without going into error mode. Spent hundreds having it looked at by Pyronix fitter but nothing seems to fix it. Batteries go after just a few weeks. After about 2 years the engineer went to supplier and said it was defective and asked if they would replace it but they said no. Horrible experience overall.

We are sorry to hear this.
For most of our wireless range, the warranty period is 2 years. The warranty date would be displayed on the product PCB/label, as the month and the year.
If there is an issue with the equipment the first instance would be to contact your installer as they would need to attend site to diagnose and resolve the fault. If the fault cannot be resolved on site, the installer can contact our Technical Support Team directly for support, our Technical Team would confirm if a replacement is recommended.
Unfortunately, if the product is out of warranty, this would be between you and the installer, as we cannot accept returns direct - As the product was not purchased directly from Pyronix.

Professional Installer

Professional Installer: Had a small blue-tooth programming issue, I spoke to Ryan and Chris regarding the matter and it was sorted.

Joined Jim for the online zoom Enforcer introduction. Great pace for the presentation - and a success. I sorted a customer faulted system out in the afternoon. I currently use a competitors products for installs but would now look to try Pyronix 👍🏻

Disconnected from the app without warning

What went wrong? Company disconnected my remote access without any warning. I was contacted by the Pyronix agent who fitted the alarm and who said alarm service was due and if I was keen to get it checked. I said all was ok but I would contact when batteries needed replaced and they could service then. They said of course just to call when service needed. Within a month I was disconnected from remotely controlling the alarm. Really disappointed after spending more than £1,000 just a year earlier. I need a business I can rely on so this is no good to me. Had a look about and there are more modern systems out there at a third of the cost like Ring that are really easy to set up, can be linked to their camera systems, no monthly charge unless you want to save videos to the cloud (about £8 per month if you choose to pay it) and importantly you are in control, just change the batteries every year or 2.

Our products are designed to be professionally installed and are not sold as DIY kits unlike other products available. We sell our products to large distributors, we do not sell directly to the public or direct to installation companies. The installers are a third party to Pyronix. We would recommend using an NSI or SSAIB approved installation company. If a panel is registered to an installers cloud account, they would need to manage the subscription renewal. In regards to the subscription, we do charge a subscription fee to remotely set and unset the control panel. However, there are no subscription fees in regards to the cameras.

Cloud Account

The installation paperwork was a little bit vague when setting up a cloud account etc for a new panel, so I contacted Support who I must say were very patient and professional in talking me through the process to a satisfactory conclusion.

Mixed feelings on the Enforcer System not obvious what it should do

I have had the Enforcer system for the last 7 years and my feelings are a little mixed about it.

The system comprises the main control panel, external dialer, PIRs, door sensors and fire detectors.

On the plus side the system is easy to install (being wireless) and wireless coverage seems to be good. It is easy to change the batteries in the detectors and useful that all detectors take the same batteries. I have not had any significant faults with the system.

On the not so good side:
1. The external dialer calls the numbers it is supposed to but never stops calling them. Pressing "5" does not seem to stop it continuing to dial numbers, which gave us quite a phone bill until we unplugged it. We have not been able to plug it in since. The installer has not been able to correct this issue.
2. A fire sensor, at least when testing, does produce an alarm sound but it appears to only be the sensor under alarm, it does not seem to instruct ALL fire sensors to sound an alarm. This is unfortunate, since depending where we are in the house we cannot hear every sensor if it went into alarm. My old system instructed ALL sensors to alarm which clearly could be hear all round the house.
3. It is quite hard to get technical feature information from Pryonix website (e.g. so I could understand if 2 above could be changed) they seem only allow installers who are registered with them to download manuals (which is very unhelpful) especially when the approved installer who we used has no idea about the detailed feature set of this system.

It may be that some of these issues are by design or perhaps can be sorted by programming the control box but there is no information on whether these can be done.

Frustrating Alarm System

Frustrating Alarm System
App constantly disconnecting
from phone.. Alarm goes off at least once a week saying back door open... Really disappointed with this system..wish we had gone with a hard wired system..After sales doesn't respond.
Would not recommend this system!!

Pyronix - A Five Star Company In My Book

I never have any issues with Pyronix as a company, or with Technical Support in particular. The equipment is very good and in the main very reliable.
The sirens and door contacts have been upgraded in the latest batch of kits. The door contacts are now neater and smaller, and the sirens are louder!
Fortunately, the minor issue I had today was just with me being a numpty. Well, it was Friday............
